Nifty!
While I've enjoyed all the previous films to an extent, Hallows part 1 was one of the few that felt like a film in its own right, rather than just an abridged version of the book. So I'm looking forward to this one.

Oh my! Looks like the final showdown between Harry and Voldemort is going to be several degrees more epic than it was in the book. ;D

Oh my! Looks like the final showdown between Harry and Voldemort is going to be several degrees more epic than it was in the book. ;D Perhaps. I personally liked the book's conclusion. Harry didn't need to prove his heroism by having some big final boss battle; The whole idea of Voldemort's manner of death was that he just never learns from his mistakes. Still, I imagine if it had been kept that way on the big screen, then it would just disappoint a whole load of movie-buffs who were expecting a real visual treat and the rough percentage of Harry Potter fans who are mildly-intruigued-by-the-story-but-not-really-into-it-enough-to-buy-the-books. I, for one, wouldn't really mind if they went in that direction. Variety's the spice of life, after all.

The whole idea of Voldemort's manner of death was that he just never learns from his mistakes. If my reckoning's right, when he dies from the rebounded Avada curse it's the fourth time he's tried to kill Harry with it. Idiot.

Might watch this. Always liked these films, because their book adaptions are always a bit lame.

deathly hallows one is narrowly the best film in the series, followed closely by azkaban and half blood prince
so deathly hallows two
probably going to be good, right
i think so
probably not as good as the first one, though, but maybe it will be better
maybe

Sooooo, went to see this last night - and my first impressions were "wow, this is sooo much better than Part One. Stuff actually happens!" I found it odd how they left out all references to Lupin and Tonk's story in this, but when Harry calls Lupin via the Stone, he just suddenly drops in a reference to their son. I mean, what? Unless you've already read the book (some of my company had not) this is a bit of a bombshell - what son? Where? When?! If they were going to cut out their contribution to the story, then surely all references to Teddy should have been omitted? Weirdoes. Also, the suggestion that Voldemort got the prophecy wrong and didn't realise Neville was also born on the same day as Harry didn't get enough emphasis. Sure, he mocked him and it was Neville who actually carried out the final act of destroying Nagini so Harry could finish him off - but there should have been more to make this poignant... at least IMO, it wasn't clear to those that hadn't read the book.... There also wasn't enough made of the fact that Harry is officially the Master of Death, has he had control over all three of the Hallows. The only reference was the destruction of the Elder Wand... Also, nothing was made of the fact that once his piece of Voldemort's soul had gone, he could no longer speak Parseltongue. :s The final scenes were hilarious - I know they're wizards 'n all that jazz, but none of them looked any different at 40-odd than 17. That was just weird, seeing Hermione look exactly the same as she did as a teenager, hugging a seemingly 11 year old girl. :s Bizarre. Perhaps getting actors who looked similar should have been better, like getting younger actors for Snape and co. during their school years. On that note: awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, Snape!!! Alan Rickman is so awesome anyway, but I just wanted to hug Snape! The poor bugger... Maggie Smith was also awesome. She kicked some serious ass. As a last note; did they keep the line " Not my daughter, you [censored]!" in the UK, or did they edit it down to "wench" or something like that? That line was hilarious.

Nah, they kept that line. They should've used "wench", though, that would've been funny.
Anyway I saw it last night and it was pretty good! Not great, but I never expect great from these movies. A few minor niggles here and there but nothing I can be bothered to discuss, and some great scene-stealing from Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith. I think I preferred Part 1 overall though, but hey.
EDIT: Oh, actually, I forgot to mention: my favourite bit was right near the beginning, when Hermione's disguised as Bellatrix. Helena Bonham Carter was just wonderful there.

It's been a while since I read the book so I'm not fully aware of the differences between the book and film. Must go back to the books at some point.

Saw this tonight. I enjoyed it. Considering he was barely in the first part, I was a little disappointed that Alan Rickman didn't get more screen time.

I just saw it.
Easily the best of the films.

I saw this film. I didn't see the previous 7, or read the books, but it seemed like a good romp.
That Harold character was alright.

I genuinely disliked Part 1. Just didn't hold together as a film for me. Radcliffif's hysterical use of the GCSE 'ACTING-HAND-MOTION' took the cake. Really surprised the director didn't pick up on it and ask him to re-do the scene.
Part 2 was much better, mind.
