How about it? Imagine a Sonic animated series (traditionally animated mind you) that takes place in the world of Sonic the Comic or at least something similar to it. This series would include story arcs and some one shots here and there. Not only that, but it would be a Netflix original series. This would be in a similar tone as the original comic strips. If something like this were to happen, what do you think would be the ideal voice cast for the characters?

Not going to happen. No idea why you mentioned Netflix as if this has any slight chance of becoming reality.

Yeah, plus we've discussed (im)possible character voices numerous times in numerous threads over the years.

This is something we tried to get off the ground years ago, but if you think organising people over the internet from various parts of the country (and globe in some instances) for a webcomic is difficult then you should try animation.
It was a difficult task staffed by people that had passion and time at that moment in their lives, and even then we couldn't get it past various hurdles.
I'd be interested in trying it again, but only if the old team got back together.

This: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLJOzTiw0aE&feature=youtube_gdata_player It is impressive but I'm guessing not only Labour Intensive but Time Intensive too? I tthink Computer Animation might not only be faster but more accessible as the Tool Kit and Assets can be Shared but more importantly standardised for Optimal Use or Alteration. MMD I guess is a little niche but it can provide a pseudo Cel Shaded Moving Comic feel. I saw a Home Brew Mod of Laputa which I think used GTA: SA (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) as a Modding Base with which to work. I remember watching it and being in awe. It was so accurate and beautiful. Sure there were some issues but overall I loved it. It even had a Laputa Guardian Robot in the Intro! Afterwards I found myself thinking "This has to be done for STC's Floating Island and Guardian Robot!" I really reccomend watching it and mulling over the possibilities. The Creator of the GTA Laputa Mod also made this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQE4KJpDFFc&feature=youtube_gdata_player I do not understand the Japanese Description but the Visuals speak for themselves. The Mushroom Land shown in Vid could be a "Mushroom Hill Zone" of the STC Floating Island with minimal tweaking. Just add some more Trees, Hilly Terrain etc and Presto!! It's certainly food for thought.....

I don't recall seeing that, though I don't feel confident enough to say "I've never seen that". I suppose that's what we were going for, although I think there was a desire for it to be styled more along the lines of SATAM rather than what was presented there.
But that video was released in 2011, the project we were talking about was around the 2006/2007 time.

Well as you can tell I really like the idea anyway in almost any format.
