Black and Gold by Sam Sparro is a pretty good track. From what I've heard, though, the album isn't up to much. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? Also, while the "Black & Gold" lyric flows well, it doesn't seem to make much sense juxtaposed with the rest of the verse:
Cos if you're not really here Then the stars don't even matter Now I'm filled to the top with fear But it's all just a bunch of matter Cos if you're not really here Then I don't want to be either I wanna be next to you Black and gold, black and gold, black and gold.
Is there some sort of hidden meaning I'm missing with that last line?

Went to see Joe Satriani with Paul Gilbert supporting last night Was great! Well aside from the fact that the Birmingham Symphony hall is terrible, it sounds great but seated gigs are just. . not my thing. The best part was on Joe Satriani's encore where everyone ended up next to the stage. Damn seats hurt my neck. Anyway whilst there I spent £110 on merchandise of the bands, which meant Paul Gilbert's last "pop" album and the live in-studio DVD to go with it. These are good, if only my TV was 60Hz so it wasn't in black and white ¬_¬

For any Nine Inch Nails fans, they have a new album up on their website for free download. Pretty damn good stuff, especially given the price.

Damn good album it is as well, took advantage of the offer a couple of weeks back. Come to think it, Reznor's developing a bit o a habit for giving away albums recently, no?

At least this one didn't need decoding from a USB pen drive left in a toilet.

I was surprised to hear about it. I had been hearing random singles on the radio, but I didn't imagine they'd have an entire album up for download considering they only released Year Zero a year ago, and Ghosts only a few months ago.

Been having a post-punk week me has... And I've been having a decidedly similar week, although far more dance punk-ful. But the occasional New Order/Joy Division track seeps through. I've just recently gotten into Foals. Antidotes is brilliant.

They are making a movie about Lemmy. This cannot fail. I am treating this as the pinnacle of human endeavour. www.lemmymovie.com/

The singer reminds me of Randy Newman for some reason. After the awesomeness that was Sunday night's Radiohead gig, I've bought Kid A. I didn't like it when I first heard it, but it's grown on me loads now.

Been listening to Buckethead's Bermuda Triangle album. Very good listen. The sound is schizophrenic, the best way I can describe it is as a B-Movie meets a porno meets ambience meets jazz meets some madman with a guitar who knows how to shred.
Check it out.

Is that taking the piss or what? The guy who starts rapping second looks like Mark. For the first few seconds it sounds a bit like The Chuckle Brothers rapping. 1 million plus hits too... HOORAY MGMT seem like a watered down Animal Collective.
