Why does Espio get referred to as an Armadillo twice in Crimson Cobra Strikes Part two? I'm all confuddled.

I think it's generally accepted as some kind of strange, bizarre mistake. I'm sure it's not Kitching's mistake, either, given that he's well aware of Espio being a chameleon because hey, Espio's main ability is his invisibility trick. Editor, perhaps?

probably Kitching's mistake. Just like "Professor" Kintobor and "Po"chacamac. Although such a mistake by the editor (who at least let this pass) wouldn't surprise me, I don't see any reason why she'd have changed the line if it originally said "chameleon".

I fail to see how Kitching could have made the mistake, though - he'd written Espio plenty of times previously and used his invisibility trick on several occasions. Who can just forget "this is what the character is, and this is what he can do" after writing them over and over? Only reasons I can think of, off-hand, are sleep deprivation and alcohol.
Professor Kintobor and Pochacamac are easier mistakes to make than a character's species and related abilities.

I think on occasion, I've said Espio the Armadillo without thinking about it. When you consider they were often written together, you might not think about it too much.

That episode also makes several references to Espios's love of turnips. What the hell.
I think someone must have filled in to do the dialogue that day.

This being the same Nigel Kitching who wrote in a script one issue after Chaos killed Johnny. (Just as well Richard Elson was paying attention that day, huh?) I love Nigel's writing, too, but at the end of the day he is, like the rest of us*, a fallible human being. (* Except for Smithy who towers over us like a behemoth.)

Im sure in Chaotix first appearance, he was referred to as "Charmee" and Im also sure it continued for a while... then I got confused when I saw Charmy mentioned somewhere else, cant remember where though...

I'm sure he'll be easily persuaded to dig up a decade-old script in order to prove that he made a minor mistake in it.

True, but it wouldn't have read as well.
("You will be the first to die at the hands of Chaos!" "Really? Well, last I heard, you already killed Johnny, but obviously you got away too quickly to notice. So we'd be at least the second." "Hahaha, then you'll be the second to die at my hands. Isn't that even more scary.")

I thought I read somewhere that Pochamacac was a deliberately altered name because his personality was diametrically opposed to the games' Pachamacac?
