Okay, sure we have Sonic games made by Sega. But would n't it be cool if Sega of Europe made an STC game? Seeing the STC exclusive characters (Grimer, Enoby, Zarchary) in a 3D would be cool. Plus lets not forget Super Sonic! Super could be the final boss! What do you think?:Good or bad idea? I just think a Sonic game set in STC universe would be nice. Plus you woud n't have Amy whining all the time.

I'm not sure America would take kindly to the idea...
*Remembers Archie cameo in Spinball*
Meh, who cares? There could be an Adventure-style story with all the individual stories intetwining!

Yeah! Just like in Sonic Adventure. Here's an idea on the plot, They are a bit basic for now. Sonic: Sonic is after Super and trying to stop him from destroying every thing in sight. Tails: I dunno yet. Knuckles: The master emerald (no not [censored]tered into pieces). has been kidnapped by Zarchary. Amy: I dunno either. Johnny Lightfoot (he has died, so we should give him a big part in something to take place before the Chaos Saga): Hunting down a henchman of Robotnik, maybe? Chaotix Crew: Battiling Lord SideWinder, but later finding out a connection between Robotnik and Sidewinder.

i one had this idea for a sonic game that would have been similar to SUPER SONIC being the final boss. The idea would be that it was the 2nd part of a 2 parter game and at the end of the first part Robotnik went so far that Sonic *seemed* to have killed him. In fact at the end of the 2nd game you find Sonic turned him into the black emerald the 8 chaos emerald (due to both being full of chaos energy at the time and sonic was stronger) and near th end of the game the Emerald is put around sonic's neck and robotnik possess's him and so the final boss is everyone trying to get the emerald off sonic before he went hyper and killed everything...sadly for anti-shadow people I saw shadow having a mjor role in this...

I think that would be cool I likewhat aplpha has said and doc r has a cool idea. sonic as the main boss, (yay I new idea!)

*contemplates* It could be a good fan game! You just need an team experienced with sonic games to pull it off! (those loop de-loops are hard as hell to model!)

If you can find ways to replicate some of the more difficult parts of the engine, then you can easily make a decent Sonic game in The Games Factory or something like that. Assuming you could get some sprites for the StC specific characters.
If anyone actually wants to attempt making a game, I'd certainly be interested in joining such a project.

I think this would be cool, base it on a freedom fighters idea, where you have a map and each sector shows the "Robotnink control" level, you must travel like in rpg and liberate each sector, with a stroyline going along the way, but you dont just click on each zone, you must run! Or take the bi-plane or use star post waypoints!
Good idea mabye? *Hopes so much he gives himself a heart attack*

RPG's rule. A Sonic RPG would be cool. It would make a change from platforming. And an STC RPG game would be even cooler.

sonic rpg would be very cool. question though. Traditional turn based rpg or shining force style strategic rpg.
Methinks a strategy one would be cool for a few reasons
a) Its Freedom Fighters so of course your mobilizing fighters from all over mobius and the special zone. At parts of the game (ala Shining Force 3) you would have to divide your forces. For example Retro said Robotnik control levels...well if you leave a sizable freedom force under a main character such as johnny lightfoot in certain areas robotnik control would drop and all your teams would start getting a benefit from that area. LEave Porker in one of the Urban zones and you get a item every 4 rounds if robotniks control is below 40% (course he could move against you in that zone and cruh a large number of your force.)
b) A big part of STC and the online fan support for sonic is its array of characters you can easily get a huge selection of characters and while only say 30 of them are of any real strength all the extras are there for strategic placing and support.
c) Multiple storylines. You Want STC you gotta have BRUTUS, ROBOTNIK AND BROTHERHOOD OF METALLIX Quests. As Freedom Fighters the storyline follows you facing of each of these challangers (inc. in metallix one a very small number of your squad: Sonic + Chaotix sent to alternate world and have start rebuilding the freedom fighters under metallix rule.) OR!!!!! as a bonus you can play out the Brutus rebellion as Brutus and have face Sonic and Robotnik. Or play as Robotnik facing Metallix or vice versa. Endless options.
d) Course all main saga's should be taken into account such as Super Sonic saga the special zone issues and of course Chaos and the Drakan empire.
e) Add on packs could include spin offs such as plying as super sonic or a take on the war of the echidnas nd finally the STC-online storylines...inc. the syndicate.

Walking around a comic convention... picking up a portfolio... walking away from a proposed signing... complaining... walking into a bar...

Hmm, I wonder if the gameplay should be similar to SW: KotOR. Not the battles of course. But you could have a hideout and team selection. Every time you leave the Hideout, you take two party members with you.
Freedom Fighters: You control Sonic and your party members are: Tails, Amy, Shortfuse, Johnny.
Chaotix Crew: You control Vector and party members are: Espio, Mighty, Charmy.
The first game should be based around the Issue 100 saga, I think. Only some minor changes in it to make it even better.

I've made games before, I used to be part of a huge hobbyist community working with Multimedia Fusion and The Games Factory. I know a number of MMF and TGF users were also part of the Sonic Fangames HeadQuarters, a forum specifically for Sonic fangamers.
I once started one myself, feeding off the ideas and characters of STC. I never finished it, however. There are various problems with making one:
1. Engine. To make the same kind of movement system as the old classic sonic games is actually pretty hard. I got around this by using a completely new one.
2. Sprites. Ever tried building a decent game, and doing all the graphics yourself? That includes animation, as well as tiles.
3. Sound.
4. Music.
5. Time. It takes ages.
You need a lot of time and devotion to do something like that.

Well, I'm afraid I can't work on this right now. I've got work experience coming up next week, I'm working on the Metroid Story for the Nintendo comic and recently I've gotta finish by business GNVQ work. I brought this up if anyone's intrested on working on this. Or just discuss the STC game that someone mentiond on another thread.
Think when I do have time, I will work on the script for this, if at all needed. I can be quite original. And I haven't the slightest clue onto how to make sprites nor even modifying them.

Would the story of the game follow, the exact story of STC?

A good question. You see, it would be cool to play out your favourite bits from the comic, but it would also to be nice to see something you haven't before.

I like Robotnik's idea from a while back on this thread. I always thought it would be cool to have a Shining Force style version of the comic, with Sonic's core cast of heroes expanding. Magic in this instance would be generally replaced with technology, but apart from that, the mechanics would be largely the same.

That is an interesting point, since there is a program out which is made by the same people who make RPG Maker (I think it might be called Tactical Maker 95), anyway this program can be used to make tactical RPGs similar to Shining Force or Fire Emblem.

The only problem I personally can see with this type of game is speed. Speed is what Sonic is all about, even in the comics. Some kind of team-based Chaotix Crew RPG would be good. It could go back to the roots of Chaotix, and then develop as Mighty, Vector and the crew acquire new members. Imagine using the link rings for a team combo attack. Would be awesome. Charmee would have a "Distract" skill
