Did anyone here get the Official Sonic the Hedgehog Annual published in 1993?
Well I just wanted to know ifthe comics inside it were in any way related to StC. So were they?

Yep I did. It was very like the computer games at the time, getting rings and saving pigs from inside machines stuff like that, ok and good for collecters but no vital story plots etc.

Beyond the fact that they were officially licensed, and that Richard Elson did his first Sonic work on it (plus a Shinobi story by the STC creative team)... not really.
Although there were two yearbooks and I'm not sure which one you're talking about...

Yeah I remember those, they where old school Sonic style, the first strip was Robotnik attempting to take out Sonic Roadrunnr style The second involved Robotnik's new Turb'o'matic that he used to chase Sonic, ending with him going right of the page The last one featured Tails and basically involved them defeating the first Robotnik Boss. I didn't get the second one unfortunatly.

I had both, but unfortunetly they have been lost throughout time, I hope whereever they are they are being taken care of.
I remember those classic stories from Annual 1, I really liked them for some reason, As for numba 2, I cant remember much, except that one story involved giant badniks and another one that had Tails in the Casino Night zone trying to have his own story, but Sonic keeps appearing...
Very differant but really cool if you ask me. *Remembers his old annuals and goes comatose*

Three names in the indicia: Barry Tomlinson (editor), Creative Editorial Services, and Grandreams Ltd (publisher). Which is odd considering that Grandreams and Fleetway used to be massive rivals.
However, it looks to me like it was published in 1992, which means it saw print before STC did.
Although it would be helpful if those who own the original Yearbook would actually say what year it says on the cover...
...and for that matter, what year is printed on the front of the book with the Tails solo story in it...

I'm sure the cover had a picture of Sonic standing in the green hill zone with Robotnik behind him in his egg thingy

I've got the second one. Found it at a car boot when I was 11 or so. Anyway, from what I can remember:
Front cover: Sonic and Tails in a Sonic 2 Special Stage.
Story one: "Sticky Problems": Robotnik tries to trap Sonic multiple times with ultra-sticky glue, around Emerald Hill Zone.
Sonic's diary: half-hearted peek into a week in the life of Sonic. All text, in weird handwriting font that's hard to read.
Story two: "Tails' Tale": Tails attempts to have an adventure without Sonic, and heads to Casino Night. Sonic shows up on the slot machine.
Reviews: various reviews of Mega Drive games. Sonics 3&Spinball, Aladdin, Ecco, Virtua Racing and one or two others.
Story three: can't remember the name. Robotnik traps Sonic in plastic and throws him on a rocket heading for outer space, blasting off from Hill Top Zone.
Pictures: The Sega bus (remember them? So gutted I never got to go on one), and a guy in a Sonic suit meeting various footballers and boy bands you've forgotten ever existed. And a race-car team.
Story four: "Big Problems": Sonic and Tails are tearing up the Aquatic Ruin Zone, and Robotnik sics a giant Grounder (the red version, not the AoStH version...) and Chop Chop on them.
Quiz: little quiz about the yearbook.
I think that's the lot. Robotnik was in his AoStH/STC look, but that was the only reference to any non-Sega universe. Amusingly, some of the "cool speak" uttered by S&T had a translation. We know what "thrashed" and "gotta be jammin'" mean, thank you...It's kinda entertaining. Lots of bad puns. Doesn't say anywhere who wrote/drew any of the stories (it was the same artist throughout, but not one I recognize) though.
Samface: your guide to totally useless trivia. ;D

I've got the one Samface mentioned, plus another one. The first one, I believe.
I think the first story, "Cartoon Concerto"(?) had Elson art.

Yeah, Elson drew the cover as well - it was the first Sonic work he ever did!
