I find something hilarious about going from that wall of text on the last page to three posts like that. Heh. Gonna have to agree with Alex on the majority there. I'm not pretending it's not irking to see Gabe "endorse" something on stage. I just mean I doubt it was simply monetary transfer that brought it. If there's one thing Valve don't need....it's money. Although there may be a logical reasoning. Steam support is coming to PS3. By endorsing the PS3 Portal 2, it is pushing buyers towards PS3 and thus Steam, which of course, is Valve's big thing. Just a thought. I wish I had time to write up in full, I started but then Mass Effect 2 started pining for a play of the new DLC. As such, here's a surmised version including their general showings, not just the single conferences Microsoft + Loads of great first party titles + Kinect works just as it should + 360 got a facelift and upgrade for free + Kinect shown good core gamer potential with Star Wars and Child of Eden + XBLA line up is stunning for the next few months - Potential deluge of casual games similar to Wii Sony + Garnered some nice 3rd party exclusive editions + Some nice first party things + Steam support for Valve games + Move...works...I guess? - Nothing interesting for Move - Online subscription thing is a joke - PSP woefully undersupported - Potential deluge of casual games similar to Wii - Move is crazy expensive Nintendo + Some nice first party titles + Uh... - Zelda massively disappointing - 3DS is a bit...well...not supported. One game? Come on. - Still trying to push the "Wii something" series, despite it rapidly failing

I think you're wrong on the 3DS support. The game support is definitely there. Just look at the list of titles confirmed for it, and look at the screens of a choice few on their website. The games exist, and they're coming - but Nintendo just didn't show it.
The game support for the 3DS wasn't a problem, it was Nintendo supporting the games.
I also don't really think Zelda was a massive disappointment. They were smart and kept the hype down for it in comparison to Twilight Princess and outside of the failed live demonstration, the game looks very appealing. If you were expecting something revolutionary, something new, or essentially something that wasn't a Zelda game, you were [censored] out of luck and had your hopes way off to begin with. As it stands, this looks to be a Zelda game that plays to the strengths of the Wii and works around the Wii's limitations (the graphical mix of the cartoony WindWaker style and the Twilight Princess realistic/proportionately real style works brilliantly and makes it one of the best looking Zelda games ever). So long as the controls are polished over the next year and work really well (and comments from those who have already played it so far have indicated that they are better than Shigsy managed to demonstrate [FYI: I also noticed from others playing it that you can get by with a lot less dramatic movement than we saw on stage, so one shouldn't have to worry about waving your arms around completely like a tool]). It wasn't the best game they showed, but it was a new Zelda and it looked like a pretty good one too.
I'd still maintain that their best game on show was the new DKC - though I can't express how much Kid Icarus impressed me too.

Shame Zelda's crap, so it was all wasted effort and cash.

Being fair, snippets of interviews had Nintendo folks give the impression they wanted to overhaul Zelda completely because they felt it was getting stale.
That's probably what got people's expectations so high.

I guess "support" is the wrong word for me to use for the 3DS. But they only had one game to show for it. A new console and they only show one game at E3? Thats significantly disappointing however it's cut. Promises of support isn't really cutting it. Even some teaser trailers or concept proofs would have been better.

I agree they should of showed more in their conference for the 3ds, but looking at the line up and pictures of the games has gotten me amazingly excited. If the line-up they're showing on their website is their launch, then it's easily one of the strongest launches ever. As if a remake of Ocarina of Time and Star Fox wasn't enough, the new Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, and Mario Kart look great. 3rd party support is also looking fantastic.

Eh, I didn't feel Nintendo's conference was all that great. Only one new decent game shown. But thats a discussion for the E3 thread if anyone wishes to continue it. Alright. I think your username becomes more of a misnomer with every passing day. Where's the retro love? : ( Nintendo's conference was specifically aimed at winning back the retro crowd, seemingly. Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn etc. It was wall-to-wall fanservice. Loved it. And I'm certain the games wil deliver. Though, oddly enough, DKC Returns appears to be the weak link. Footage I've seen is spectacularly mediocre-looking. However, Nintendo's output can be summed up thusly:

I had somehow got it in to my head that the new Zelda was a "on rails" affair with you controlling his left and right arm and shield and sword respectively. Having heard that isn't the case I'm looking forward to that.
Felt Nintendo had a good show for the games I am interested in, but with my time being severely limited recently I doubt I'll see many of those on my shelf for a good few years after release anyway.
I can't really remember anything standing out from the PS3 or 360 brands that I'm really that interested in. My 360 has basically become my Arcade and Rockstar machine.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_ColorsRevealed at E3, Sonic Colours before Sonic 3DS next years sounds like it could work. I'll be getting the DS version, plus I'm preordering a 3DS when shops get theirs in early next year. As from January, I'm saving the money for it. God bless you Nintendo. (And E3 of course) ;D

The 3DS definatly should have had more to show off than what it did. Its the first time a remake of the DS has made me think I might actually update from the orginal DS I've had since launch, but I need more before I would actually go ahead and save for it.
