I am so not looking foward to a reboot of the Spider-man movies..its too soon & Toby Mcquire was doing a fine job as the Character IMPO..replacing him would be like replacing Johhny Deep as Captain Jack Sparrow, or his friends Kira Knightly and orlando bloo...oh wait they are replacing the supporting cast in Pirates 4. (Darn you Hollywood! Darn You!)
But yea, Really getting Tired of getting used to a cast in a movie series, only to have them replaced/rebooted with others. And again A spider-man reboot is to soon.
Also don't get me wrong I am sure the new guy can do a good job...but I sitll fell a bit burned by Marvel & Hollywood right now. (those Greedy jerks. lol.)

No-one is allowed to complain about Pirates 4 on the grounds that it has Ian McShane as Blackbeard.

Even though it diverts the thread further away from Spider-Man, I must know; is it going to be exclusively 3-D?

Legionfan, would you please think? Will Turner and Elizabeth's story concluded already, came to a nice end, is good as it is. Bringing them back would be cheapening and whoring characters that, rarely for Hollywood blockbusters, had a good sense of -begginning-middle-end.
As for Spiderman, glad they're rebooting it, the movies were trite.

Spider-Man thread has been invaded by pirates! Who will protect it?! and his friend, Pirate Batman! Now can we please talk about Spider-Man?

Too old for the story they seem to want to produce, IMO. I was expecting a late-teen.

Kinda young looking, but still about 10 years too old, really... Obviously a 16 year old was never going to be cast, but one would at least hope for someone a little younger looking.
Still, Toby McGuire wasn't exactly a high schooler either but it worked without many issues in the original, so I say wait and see.
As long as this is a pure adaption of Ultimate Spidey, I'd be happy. But assuming that it's just close to it in general, and this version of Spidey is more chatty than McGuire's, that'll be enough, really.

I liked Tobey Maguire as Spiderman and really enjoyed the first movie but I felt the second movie wasn't great, mainly due to Dr Octopus being kind of wimpy. As for the third movie it reminded me of X-men 3 in that I thought it was a boring pile of sh^&e.

Apparently, Rhys Ifans has been cast as the villain for the reboot. Sony wont say who he'll be playing though.
