Trailers up. Or in case it gets deleted, you can watch it on the Apple website.I can't stand Ryan Reynolds.

I haven't seen much of Ryan Reynolds other than Blade Trinity, and I thought it was just his character who couldn't shut up. It looks like I was wrong...

That's the most personality Hal Jordan has ever had. The bit about not being fearless is quite out of character, since comic Hal doesn't know when to [censored]ing quit.
I'll take it as a sign that this movie will be a big character-building experience into the cardboard lug from the comics.

But surely he is fearless, else the ring wouldn't have seeked him out.
Unless the movie ring recognised his potential, ugh.

It could be going for the whole "fearless isn't being never afraid, it's doing the right thing even when you're terrified." ideal.
Looks quite good. Given Marvel's DC's much better rep movie wise these days I'll probably check it out.
Edit - HERP A DERP

Hmm, looks interesting. Might be worth a rental, at least.

General reaction from the trailer seems to be that it's far too much like the Schumacher Batman films and not enough like the Nolan Batman films.
To that I say: "They hired Ryan Reynolds - of course it was going to be wacky and funny".
Of course, since I'd much rather have the Deadpool movie than the Green Lantern movie (most of DC's big names do absolutely nothing for me), I'd have been happy if they hadn't - but oh well.
At least this looks like I could bear to sit through a whole movie about the Green Lantern - which is more than I would have expected a few years ago.

DC have only really been pushing Green Lantern to the fore since about 2006. Before that he was strictly B-List.
Y'know how when people think of DC it's "Batman, Superman and everyone else"? Well DC want to make it "Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and everyone else".
The trailer didn't strike me as a Schumacher Bat-flick. Reminded me more of Iron Man, actually.

Whatever became of the Shazam film that was going to have the Rock as Black Adam?

Presumably the same thing that happened to Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman.

It's probably not dark (and therefore not "serious") enough after The Dark Knight was successful.

Wonder Woman is pretty difficult to work with, regardless.

I remember I read an early draft of this (supposedly it was the second last or something), and a few scenes from it showed up in the trailer, which would suggest what I read was legit. It was awful. Again, earlier draft, has since been re-edited, but it was pretty far along. Wonder Woman is pretty difficult to work with, regardless. Just get Ryan Reynolds to do it. Bale doesn't want to do a Justice League movie, and he doesn't want Robin. Get Reynolds to do them both. I have that picture, somewhere, but can't find it. It's not very good, but it's handy for illustrative purposes. A Justice League, made entirely of Ryan Reynolds. It's my dream.

Am I the only one who gets Sean William Scott and Ryan Reynolds mixed up?
The trouble with Wonder Woman is that her backstory is tied to Ancient Greece and as Mr Pitt said she doesn't a Joker/Lex Luthor/Green Goblin/Dr Ock. type iconic villan. Without using Ancient Greece or the Nazis.
Anyway. Green Lantern. Looked ok. Not really clued up on GL that much beyond Justice League/JLU. The general reaction from the net is that they are using the wrong GL. Or something. Loved the bit where they were on the alien world thing though.
Cant help thinking that Ryan is going to be a bit [censored]ed if there is a Marvel Vs DC movie. Or he'll become the richest man in the world.

Furthermore, nobody can seem to decide what they want Wonder Woman to be. Is she a straightforward Superman-style hero? A warrior princess? An ambassador to "man's world"? Something else entirely?
There are too many possibilities and nobody outside of comic book fans are really familiar enough with all of them.
