So over the years the original Sonic megadrive games have been re-released time and time again on various platforms and gaming devices. With this in mind how many times do you think you've bought the original Sonic the Hedgehog on the megadrive.

I never bought the original, the Mega-Drive I got all them years ago was second-hand and Sonic 1 was included. Only bought it once since too, as part of Sonic Mega Collection on PS2.

2x original 1x mean bean compilation (mega drive)
Sonic Jam (Saturn
MC+ (PS2)
Xbox live that 360 MD compliation (360)
Unless I have some more hidden Mega Drive ones on compliations, that should be it.

Had the five main console games on Mega Drive. Played them since on the Mega Collection Plus (PS2 and PC), the PS2 MD Collection and the 360 Ultimate Mega Drive Collection as well as, ahem, other means.

I never went out of my way to purchase all of these games, but somehow acquired it this many times...
6 times in total on the MegaDrive (first one broke, bought another and then the MegaDrive broke so I bought another which came with another 3 copies and a copy of Mega 6)
1 copy of Sonic Jam
1 copy of Sonic Mega Collection (my brother bought it and I ended up with it)
1 copy of Sonic Mega Collection + on PS2 (friend lent it to me and then sold his PS2 and let me keep it)
1 copy of Sonic's Ultimate Sega MegaDrive Collection on XBox 360 (again, lend and somehow keep)
I think that's it. I have Sonic 1 ten times. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of times I've re-downloaded it on various computers to play with an emulator.

PS2 Mega collection Gamecube Mega collection XBox Mega collection The rest I can understand. In fact, I can even understand buying MC on Cube and then buying it again on another platform as it came with more games, but buying it on PS2 and XBox? How silly of you Stiv. With sense like that I don't think I can trust you as an editor anymore. No, I can't trust you as a person anymore.
Get out of my life.

Why on earth did you buy it on both XBLA and VC? Bit excessive, surely.
Oh, and I have it four times - MD original, Jam on Saturn, Mega Collection on Gamecube and Mega Drive Ultimate Collection on 360.

It was the first Virtual Console game I bought, but when the full set was available on the 360 - and had Sonic 3 and Knuckles - I got them all together.
Honestly, using my Street Fighter pad on the 360 was far more enjoyable than the Classic Controller. As much as I admire the CC, the SF pad was genuinely like being 8 years old again and playing a Mega Drive.
