Well that's just daft. Even if it had to be done within a specific amount of time, it could still have been better than it was. And why only one take? Silly, silly Sega.

Doctor Zachary IAN MCKELLEN Oh my life, YES! I know; I was reading a Knuckles storyline with Zachary in it; while in the other room, my flat-mate was watching one of the X-Men films at high volume. I overheard one of Ian Mackellen's lines, and I just thought; "Wouldn't it be cool if Zachary sounded like Ian Mckellen?" So I gave it a go (imagining how it would sound), and it just clicked!

Haha! Can totally see that! ;D A few years ago, I would have said that Michael J Fox could have made a pretty good Sonic voice, but now I'm not so sure.

OMG; that would work. Considering his voice-work as Clayton in "Tarzan" and El Supremo in "Freddie as FR07"

Well, for the new games, I just switch to Japanese voices when possible, I just love Tails Japanese voice in Sonic Adventure. Well for Shadow, I think his SA2 voice is fine.

For the main characters, basically what they sound like in the games but if your talking about the voices I had in my head for them BEFORE the games, well....
Sonic and Tails: How they sounded like in the Adventure cartoons.
Robotnick: Again like in the cartoons.
Knuckles: Now this was interesting because he never had any audio media when I was reading the comics. I didnt even see the actual movie until 2007. For Knuckles I kind of imagined a sort of voice of Jim hawkins from the Treasure Island cartoon.....but retarded?
Amy: sort of chav like voice, kinda similar to my older sister at the time.
Techno and Ebony: Teenage coloured girl. both of them. Ebony, I guess an older version but for some reason I felt that they had those voices.
Charmy:.....Like how he sounds now, oddly enough....but more girly and more annoying
Grimer: Snively from SATam
(oh, and before you ask, jim Hawkin's during the first series when he was voiced by Dawn French......yeah...that was the voice of Knuckles in my head throughout the 90's)

I'm really starting to get the hang of Roger despite my first disperation (I hope you all forgot about it) so I would picture Sonic, Tails and Knuckles with their new voices however, strange enough, I would picture Amy with a much different voice something in the style of Ashley Tisdale........... -hides for humilation-

[quote author=" Waffles" source="/post/455654/thread" timestamp="1300573159" In my mind the main cast have an American accent. Must be since I'm American, plus because every continuity has them with one; plus Sonic is very American technically so.. Yea. [/quote] That's funny because in my mind all the characters from the games have a thick Japanese accent, and all the original characters sound like Nigel Kitching, except the females, who sound like Nigel Kitching on helium No, but seriously, good question. I guess it changed depending on the time period. Early on I imagined Sonic and Tails and Robotnik with their with their AoStH voices, (especially easy for Robotnik because the style of his character model through most of the comic's run). Porker sounded, unimaginatively, like Porky pig. Amy sounded like your stereotypical bimbo from any given serial from a less enlightened time (this would change when she got herself a crossbow and started being useful though). I don't even remember what Johnny sounded like to me that far back. Later on as I got to know the characters more I assigned them my own voices, according to what I felt appropriate to their persona. It's hard to say what "accent" they had though. A few people have said that they heard the characters speak in *their* accent, but the thing about me is I left my home country just early enough that I never fully picked up the local accent, but just late enough that British accents always seemed foreign to me, despite living among them. Then came Sonic Adventure and I started imagining the cast using their voices from Sonic Adventure, where applicable. These days I've gone back to using my own created voices. I wouldn't be able to tell you what accent they use though.

Jason Griffith with Shadow voice? That's an odd one, I must say. To me he has too much of an ego/sense of humor on him for Shadow's perma-serious tone.
Obviously, it's your brain, you can do what you want, I just find that strange. Why do you think you imagine him with that voice?

I suppose now would be a good time to mention that I can't stop hearing Windy Wallis the Weather-Gerbil as sounding like Stan's sister on South Park. I've been known to make myself fall about in fits if laughter imagining her ending her more aggressive sentences with "tuuuurd!!"

Jet sounds like Terrorsaur (Beast Wars)
Wave sounds like Rita Repulsa (Power Rangers)
Storm sounds like Rahzar (TMNT)
Rouge sounds like Arukenimon (Digimon 02)
If Rouge showed redeeming qualities, like her sega self, she would sound different.

When I think of sonic the comic's character voices I imagine Porker's and Sonic's voice just like in the you tube video. (If you don't know what I am talking about it is the animated version of the "running wild" issue.) Mighty should sound like Manic (Sonic Underground) and Dr. Robotnik should sound like his version off of satAm.

SatAM Robotnik = Jim Cummings. Legendary voice actor there.

I often imagine Long John Baldry as Robotnik, with a small hint of Deem Bristow in his more sinister moments.
Amy, to this day, I've always read her with Jaleel White when he's playing Sonia in Underground.
