Any of you, perchance, play any forum games? (Given that you need a computer to play, I believe it fits the Arcade Zone)
Basically, a forum game runs on text and maybe pictures.
Common forum games are "Mafia" ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_%28party_game%29 ) or "Eat Poop You Cat." ( boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/30618/eat-poop-you-cat )
Games of sorts with no rules would be "Beat the Picture Above You" sorts of games.
Really, to be quite literal, it's any sort of game you play on a forum.
---
I've played "Beat the Picture Above You" before, often with hilarious results.
A common forum game, that I play, however, would "Imperium Offtopcium." (( imperiumofftopicum.wikia.com/wiki/Imperium_Offtopicum )) Basically, with Paint, Wordpad, and maybe Excel, you create a world map. Players stake out their claim and can create whatever country they what, with any history, culture, etc. that they desire. The essence of the game is players roleplaying as if they were genuine rulers, and while the exact rules vary, players often trade, go to war, etc.
I have hosted 8 Imperium Offtopicum games myself, and also gave the genre its name. I've eagerly watched all the different varieties though, as while all are geopolitical simulations, they all have different rules and varying levels complexity.
Obviously, however, IOT would do well at CFC forums, as it's full of history buffs and strategy gamers. News has reached me that it's been exported to the Paradox forums as well.

So, to recap: do you play / have you played any forum games? Any particular favorites?
