Don't we already have a Gerald, wasn't there a Dr. Gerald in Silver's story Last Hero Standing?

Yes - but they share the name only, IIRC...
Although he does have a 'tache like the Doc's...

Well she has to be competent. I figure if she's going to meet up with Cream eventually (They're both doing that pirate thing) she might have to be. As Cream seems kind of scattered (per what I'm seeing so far) I think Marine would have to play the straight man.
......that's probably a story in itself if you think about it.

Well... if it gives the two an adventure to go on or something to do other than show up and cute around all day (What Cream is doing in Archie comics..) and annoy the other characters... (What Marine is doing in Archie comics...) then maybe... just maybe... that comparison could be a good thing..

nice. Basically it also means taking away nice potential ideas for the first to create a short lasting second

Oh. Proverbs. Let me throw in one that gets this back on topic.
"DON'T BE A DAMN KEN PENDERS."
..in short, lets everyone have a say in how the idea is supposed to go and not just have a single opinion on it and call it absolute.
Apparently this was discussing throwing Marine the Raccoon into the comic eventually. Or NOT adding her.
Can we get back into topic of why or why not instead of making up rhymes and adding proverbs that don't contribute to either case, thanks?

They already did that, except she was called Cream the Rabbit. Oh so true. Nah, Marine will come when they think of a decent use for the character. Probably as a docile, polite, well mannered raccoon, who one day ends up in an unfortunate and irreversible body swap accident with the pirate Cream. In the same issue, Rouge gets a body swap with the G.U.N. Agent Wave, who's sultry, ditzy, and has a HUGE crush on Knuckles.

Feeling like a necromancer for reviving this dying thread, but I'm curious about the character Professor Cratermass and would like to know more about him, I did read the wikia but it doesn't really tell much about his personality.

He's pretty much the generic good scientist archetype. Excitable about new discoveries, but works for the good of everyone and sticks it to the military when they want to be brazen about things.
