STC Online: second place for Best Online Strip! Not a win, but a very impressive ranking - and there's always next year (where I'll point it out some time earlier than the last minute!)! (the original messages follow) -- It's listed as a finalist and the winners will be announced this Friday! -- www.sitsvac.org/awards2004.htmlHow about voting for Sonic the Comic Online in the "Best Online Strip" category? If you vote, it has a good chance of at the very least getting a top ten mention at the awards ceremony. If everyone here votes, it has an excellent chance of winning the entire thing. (Really, what competition does it have?) Please fill out as much of the form as you feel comfortable with, though, as otherwise your vote would count for nothing. Same applies if you vote multiple times - that's cheating, guys! Since Nigel Kitching and Richard Elson have had work published since February 2003, they are eligible, although it would look a little bit odd (for Nigel in particular). Also please note that the form is sent via e-mail.

Is it wise to draw attention to this comic...
Not that I want to defame it, but it's technically breaking copyright laws...

Is it wise to draw attention to this comic? Yeah! A talented team work hard to bring this comic out every couple of months, and this is the sort of hard pat on the back they deserve. Bringing attention to the comic brings attention to them - having "National Comics Award winner" on your CV will always go down a treat when you're pitching to comics publishers. Is this site breaking any copyright laws? None that the other thousand upon thousand other Sonic sites do. In fact, considering this site doesn't use any of Sega's images, and has the authorisation of the creators (copyright holders) on certain STC characters, I'd say fewer than even them. Will Sega take any notice? I very much doubt it. Do you want to see this comic win a prestigious award? (Yes... )

Too many questions there.
Can't I just say "Sonic the Comic- Online" instead of going through the WHOLE process of "Best grahic novel" "Best film"... Gah...

Not every process... I'd go for at least seven, otherwise, as it clearly states at the top, it will be considered ballot-stuffing.
Suggestions for best comics film/TV: X-Men 2 Hulk Daredevil League of Extraordinary Gentlemen American Splendor
Suggestions for best speciality web site: Newsarama Comic Book Resources Millarworld
I'm sure you can fill in some of the other categories by yourself. If all else fails, vote for Beano characters.

HELP! What do I put for best writer? If you don't want to put anything in, just leave it. BTW, I'm not suggesting you nominate STC in every category. Just "Best Online Strip".

I dare ya to nominate Nigel Kitching for "Lifetime Achievement" though ;D

Waste of nomination; Moore's already won it twice. He'll be exempt this year.

Que? Doesn't it defeat the point of 'best newcomer award' if the same guy wins it twice?

This is why last year they announced the winners in "top ten" fashion.
Bruce Jones ranked fairly high last year, despite the fact that he's been in comics since the 1970s (the only difference was that in 2002 he was working on Hulk and Wolverine).
I voted for someone who's been dead for over a decade...

If you take a closer look at the page, it says you can e-mail the nominations in.
But hurry though - you only have until Thursday to vote!

According to that page, the voting finished on Saturday. Here's hoping we get a win!
