Did you know that you can use the radar at the bottom of the screen to help you find the emeralds? When it begins to turn red and blink very quickly, you're very close!
Bye bye!

The emerald fragments are randomly placed, i.e. they change every time you try the level. I can't remember most of the locations, but on one of the planets, there's a sort of cargo train circling it and the emerald is sometimes there. So if you've got an emerald that appears to be moving, it'll be there...

Ive played the level millions of times and its never appeared on those outer platforms circling everything else.

Actually, the emeralds CAN be on the outside platforms. Happens to me every time. Hmm, have you tried to bust all the green spiky things coming from the ground? Sometimes they're in there, and make sure that you check the very top of the level. Also the bottom platform, under the one you start on MIGHT have a shard. Sorry if this ain't no help to you, but I thought I'd try.

If you play the level multiple times, and use the hints. you'll figure out which ones mean which.
'cause you can still get an A if you use 1 hint for each emerald.

There's about 50-60 different positions for the Emerald shards in each level, it's only in the "Hard Mode" (yeah, right...) that the emeralds are in the same place (thus negating the name, "hard mode" bleh...).
Just get to know the level and the various hints and you'll find them soon enough. I know at some points I've spent a good 40 minutes in that goddam level...

Grrr I hate it when you get the emerald radar to go yellow then red (but not flashing) and still can't find the ruddy shard!

Radical Highway for Shadow is by far one of the hardest levels to complete in 5th mission mode under the A time limit. I found it hard enough completing it within the set time limit until I discovered that every shortcut, no matter how short, will help.

Where abouts it that then I have found one near the start of that level it takes you to the flame ring. Sadly I think takes more time tho so I don't call it a shortcut I can't get A rank (apart from gettin 100 rings and lost chao) on this level it's too hard. Smae goes for Sonic's green forest level I can get 100 rings with A rank not sure about lost chao tho and I get outta the level in 2 mins for the set time misson as well.

Can any one point me to a list of where each hidden chao is for each stage?

Pah! You're all weak if you start asking for help. Use your own wits and common knowledge.

Are you saying that you never ever ever had to ask for help on any game EM? cause if you are then there's something wrong with you What do you mean 'There's somthing wrong with me'? I never had to ask for help to complete games because like I said, I use my wits and common knowledge to complete puzzles and get past hard parts. Example: There is an Ice wall, and my goal lies on the other side. Instantely it hits me: Use a flame-type weapon to melt Ice Or find a way to get a heat source on the Ice. Example 2: I am in a place filled with enimies, instead of running around like a lunatic. I hold my position, and attack relentlessly, moving only when needed to.

Yeah but no matter how good you are you always get stuck somehwere. I mean I've compled lots of games most of them on my own and Some with a little help here and there. I only ask for help when I really need tho

And so what if someone NEEDS help? It's out of order to insult their intelligence.

well, that guide was helpfully in discovering that the chao are in those ancient rrunis things. quite how I would have known that without the guide I dont know. its not in the manual.
Now I just need to find the melody maker. Where is it for sonic?

Now I just need to find the melody maker. Where is it for sonic? The mystic melody you mean? For Sonic its in Final Rush. Just keep going through the level until at one point you see a platform while grinding. Jump to that platform and take the rocket there. It will take you to another platform, just follow the platform path until you find it.

That mystic meloday drove me insane for a while to get, and the Chao is driving me to new levels or nuttyness!
