Look, call me dumb and stupid but I can't set up an account on this forum. I write in my details, and it says it'll send stuff to my e-mail address, but it never comes. What is a fella to do? I can't just keep writing as a guest. Where's the fun in that? Ed, Ben, someone please help me. Dark R.

Which Email server are you using? Some POP3 ones like Hotmail block these kinds of messages as Spam. Either adjust your spam filter, or get in touch with Ed, as he can give you a new password and Email you perhaps. Either way, get him to give you a password to log in with.
It's handy running my own ProBoards MB at times ;D.

I used a hotmail account and it worked fine. Make sure you get your address right, because I got it wrong the first time, that's why there's an account called Tucker1105 that didn't work. Actually one of the admins can delete that if they want to, I'm not gonna use it.

I used Hotmail, but some Hotmail users do have problems with sign-ups. It all depends on who you've blocked via the Spam filter before.

I got hotmail with a filter but mine doesn't deleat junk, it just stores it in the junk mail folder. Then all I had to do was to pick it up from there.

yo dark R I see you are trying to be a member well I used hotmail and I got on fine whats your hotmail junk filter because if it's too high it may classify this as junk mail by the way when are you going to update your time story on fanfiction.net it's a really good story thats set in the sonic the comic universe ;D

Hotmail is obviously kind of picky - some members get Emails from the board, some don't. That's why it's safest just to use another free Email like Lycos.co.uk just in case. (Lycos also being the only free Email NOT blocked by my college's filters ;D)

Hey, that post may have had no caps or full stops, but it was easily readable. So I think it was a bit out of order you insulting his grammar SonicFanatic. So what if it was bad, did it need to be good?
EDIT: I'm really not trying to start a flame war it's just that I throught that the comment was a bit out of order.

I think it's nice to at least try and use decent spelling and grammar if you want people to read your posts. But you have to be careful commenting on this sort of thing, because there are people who have real difficulties with it whether because they're handicapped, have English as a second language, are quite young or whatever. It's not usually safe to assume that this kind of thing is down to laziness.
On the other hand, I must admit I do tend to overlook e-mails that have poor spelling and grammar when it comes to selecting mails for Speedlines. This is a time thing mainly. If I need to rewrite the mail to get it looking spiffy, it's going to need to be especially good to warrant the time spent fiddling. I'm sure poor spelling and grammar will get in the way elsewhere in life, so the 'net is really an ideal place to develop good habits where it doesn't matter so much.
By the way, Dark Rose, glad to see you managed to get that problem fixed.

heya dudes,
just stick with yahoo I say - seems to be the best e-mail account for all sorts of things, plus the spam guard or bulk folder as its called is excellent as it allows you to easily delete whatever spam you get, which is always annoying
