I was just wondering what has been your fave comic so far? I have to say the lastest one, it has lots of fighting and I like violence.

I'll be very interested to see what people think of this.
I'm obviously not the most objective person but it's interesting to look back. In terms simply of writing, the stories I'm most satisfied with are "RBR" and "Reunion". I think Mike's "Impressions" came out pretty well too, and I love that "I'm a man of few wants" speech that we came up with in lettering (with either Mike or Tom, I forget) in that first Amy story.
I think #224 and #225 were solid all around really. You can see how Abby's art improved as she went, and I absolutely love her fish at the end. The second part had some of Mike's best art and colouring, I think, and also I think it was my best cliffhanger (although it was to have the worst resolution). The Tails story felt a bit inconsequential in some ways... the idea buried in there was to show the kind of media aspect of being a hero but it needed a lot more spelling out. I think it made a nice action story though, and Thalia's art is always delightful and really captured the action side of things. I wanted to pit Tails against a really dangerous villain to test his new-found confidence.
#226 suffered from an anti-climactic and muddled Sonic script, and I think Mike's art in "Impressions" probably suffered in comparison to his more recent stuff the previous issue. #227 had the free gift which I thought was pretty fun, really, and I liked the site redesign. A lot of people seemed to think the Johnny zombie was too grizzly for the comic, but I figured that much more horrifying things happened in films like "Watership Down" which also featured rabbits. "RBR" felt really like classic STC, helped considerably by Rich Morgan.
#228 was probably the best all around. I thought the pacing and the drama of the Knuckles worked pretty well, and it interested me to make Ebony a semi-antagonist. Although really, she's right, so perhaps Knuckles is more the antagonist? It's tough. "The Syndicate" also came out really well. In hindsight, we might have gone for a different look for Vichama and perhaps even not introduced another echidna at all. That said, I really enjoy writing his character.
I love the opening page of this story: silent Robotnik. Second issue in a row I had a story transition from sunset to nighttime. (Actually, in RBR, Rich wanted to have the sun rise at the end. I thought the chronology would look a bit suspect if it did, but it did seem a shame to lose the imagery). Getting the text right on this Robotnik page was hard. At one stage I wrote it very stark with almost no text at all, like a silent film. In the end, we decided there needed to be something to read. Also, I wanted to pre-empt comments like "why didn't you give Robotnik any dialogue?" I also rewrote a lot of the Sonic and Tails banter in this one. Some of it seems pretty funny to me. The running commentary gag feels like something I've probably heard before, but I've no idea where.
And #229. By this stage I knew Zak would be doing it so I basically wanted as many awesome visuals that I knew he'd be suited to as possible. And he still knocked the story out of the park. The idea was to do a massive chase story with Metallixes and robots and all sorts but in the end I realised that it would be better slimmed down and simplfied. I suspect some people would have liked a showdown with the Syndicate. That would have made it more satisfactory. I like the fact that Sonic kind of runs away though (and it's the first real hint of the direction I'm taking with the character).
I wish I could have found a better ending than just introducing a villain (for the second issue running). We also have "Trouble". This is a bit disjointed perhaps, but I like Mike's colours here a lot. I also think that Big stuff is pretty funny. The "cliffhanger" is a bit of a cheat, I should probably warn you, since it isn't what it looks like really. This issue's cover also surprised me. I wasn't that keen on a Sonic Heroes theme but it actually felt quite like the original comic.

I'd have to say this #229 because it has a bit of everything STC-wise - big fights, coupla quips, sight gags, big cliffhanger...I did really like R.B.R, though. If you'd presented that to me and said it was taken from the original comic, I'd have believed you 100%, and that's the only story I can say that about thus far. Not that the other stories are bad ;D Far from it. It's just R.B.R has that indefineable STC-ness.

#224-5. I actually felt I was redefining Nack's STC character a bit -- he came across as more abrasive and clued-in to me. I know Nigel didn't like Nack much, but the artist we had lined up when I wrote it was a huge fan of the character so we disucssed ways to make him more interesting.

pesonally, I love nack and really wish there had been more of him in STC, so I was very pleased to see him in the online one. I hope to see more of him.

i voted for the latest issue. no offense to ed and the rest, but I just don't think the script was up to scratch in the earlier issues. and even thalia's amazing artwork and good ol' super (my favourite character) wasn't enough to give issues 224-226 my vote.
the current issue, however has a well-thought out plot and amazing artwork. it's by far my favourite.

Hmm...I'm not sure about what issue I'd vote for, but I know my favourite stories. 'Just Like Old Crimes', 'RBR' and 'In the Heat of the Night' are all great because I'm a big fan of both the artists involved (Rich and Thalia). 'The Syndicate' had unbelievably good action in it! I also really enjoyed 'Impressions' because it was just so dark...perhaps darker than STC has ever dared to be before. Also, I think it was #225 that had a really great cliffhanger, with Sonic about to turn Super as the Island robots close in on him.....that was the first real "Oh my god" moment in STC-O. 'Reunion' was also a really well-written and paced issue. It's good to see great drama as well as action, both things that STC always excelled in. Whoops, I tried to talk about my favourites and ended mentioning nearly all of them. That's a good sign, though.

I voted 228 because I like the Recent sonic story in that and the latest story. I also enjoyed Knuckles story with Tikal, I'd love to see a story teaming Knuckles up with Tails again.

I say one thing ....and??
Everyone seems to like shadow I don't know because I haven't got a modern enough console to play any of the new sonic games. I'm get one in a few months so I'll know what the hell everyone is talking about

Shadow is a clone of sonic?
thousands of years old experiment?
Confused?

I don't really see why there's so much fuss about Shadow either. He seems a pretty bland idea for a character to me, actually. It's funny that all these variants on Sonic (Super, Metal, Shadow) seem to be so popular. Hmm.

I SO agree with you. Shadow is the easy way out of coming up with a good plot, an "Evil Twin" if you will. And how many sci-fi action series can you name which HAVEN'T had an evil twin episode?
(Note: For God's sakes, DON'T list them or I'll lose the will to live.)

I agree with you all but shadow is keeping up with tradition of tieing in with games so STC are using it
