Superhero films these day are garbage in my opinion, though I did enjoy Bryan Singer's X2 though I am very dissapointed that he won't be directing it's sequel. I can already see a very rushed and bland storyline for X3. As Fantastic Four goes, I'm open-minded. Marvel recently have had many of there comic book characters adapted onto the silver screen, but I just don't feel the same way about them compared to the graphic novels. They all have simalir plots if you know what I mean. Hero, Heroine, Villian, Detroy the world, Good Guys prevail, but then again, aren't these the same Generic Codes and Conventions used for every story that is told.

Huh. Looked pretty good, actually...
Now I wonder which FF member will be the one to go 'in the huff' so to speak and try to go separately, get caught by the badguy, and the others try to save him/her only to have a heartwarming reunion and "UNITE AGAINST THE FORCES OF E-VIL" forever.
Actually. If that happens, it'll be tosh.

No it's not. They've done two fantastic films with both. How is that out of hand? Ehh.. I meant they should of stopped after the two series. Spiderman 2 was purely amazing. Most of the marvel super hero movies are bombing or not doing to good ; Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher, The hulk

Thanks, TeamSmithy for the link...didn't realise the official site was up. I'm more optimistic about the movie after seeing the proper trailer. Regarding Spidey 2, I always felt that both films were predictable but the whole thing was made so enjoyable and entertaining to watch, with sight gags and awesome little touches that are so fun it negates any feeling of cliche. I thought both the script and acting were better in the second film too (The Green Goblin's hamminess in the first film ruined it a little for me). Plus, there were some surprises to be had, like Jameson admitting that Spidey is a hero, and Peter revealing his face in the train scene. It has just as much merit as Spidey 1, IMO....if not more.

This looks bad and I suspect it will be awful. This is a film that should never be attempted in live action, only big-budget animation, and yet this is the SECOND time they're trying it. Honestly, having read some of the Kirby material and the more recent Waid/Wieringo take, it would take a lot for this film to live up to those standards in my mind (although an unaltered screenplay by Waid and high-quality animation in a Kirby or Wieringo style would probably meet them). But like most Hollywood productions the quality here is going to be compromised.
I'm a lot more excited about Sin City though. It seems like an authentic translation from comic to screen and it intrigues me to wonder if this will change the modern mainstream perception of the comics artform. (Modest prediction: sales of the Sin City books will skyrocket.)
