I'm sure I'm not the only gorehound on here. Post about Extreme Cinema.
Note: Any posts regarding how gross we are for liking splatter flicks will be ridiculed, and the perpetrator ritually humiliated. Also, be aware that by Extreme Cinema I do not mean movies about bloody snowboarding.

Also, be aware that by Extreme Cinema I do not mean movies about bloody snowboarding. Does that mean "flipping snowboarding" or "snowboarding with lots of blood"? 'Cos surely the latter would be suitable. Anyhow, this sure as heck ain't the place for me. *scarpers*

Here's some good horror-related news:
What's the betting the sci-fi channel will get these in? It sounds pretty awesome.

Have we got bored of Anchorbay?
Anyways I tend to find that a lot the modern extreme cinema tends to come from Asia ie Itchi the Killer and Full Time Killers (neither I have seen, woe is me). I do believe the UK had some extreme films banned back in the seventies...
Does the original dawn of the dead count as extreme cinema? I think that was the only film I've seen a guy get ripped open when he's still alive.

DotD Sort of counts, I guess.
Bored of Anchor Bay? Speak for yourself. They're about the only other forum I regular nowadays.
That Masters of Horror series sounds bleedin' fabulous.
BTW, everybody go and buy Cannibal Holocaust from Japan. THAT'S extreme cinema.

[/grizly]
Cannibal Holocaust is a notorious piece of cinema by director Ruggero Deodato. It is the story of a documentary crew who film exploitative and violebnt footage. Their footage is found and brought back to civilisation where it is examined by curious students. What they find they will never forget...
This film contains some utterly repugnant moments, not least the (real) animal cruelty. It can be extremely hard to watch at times, but it's worth it - the message is suprisingly relevant.

Haven't seen it myself, but I know a guy who's got it. Might give it a look, then.

Any version you see in this country is bound to be missing about 20 minutes of censored footage - import it from Japan or Kazaaville.
Other films for discerning gorehounds?
August Underground's Mordum Guinea Pig: Devil's Experiment Traces of Death Faces of Gore
All of the above are utterly [censored]ed up. EXTREME CAUTION.

To a degree, yes. One of my fave movies Though most things I have covered in this topic are cut or banned in Britain, and Evil Dead is now available uncut through Anchor Bay.

I think it deserves to be here, after all it was banned after a couple of days of its release.
and it still grosses me out... the eyeball being swallowed in the second one... the cutting off of the hand... and the blood... so much blood. ewwww.
But it was cool!
