Fan-[censored]ing-Tastic.
And they DID fudge around Rose dying, and everyone (well, the actual important characters) lived!
I pity Charles for the Tylers' happy ending, though I think it was done well - not really cheesy or lame. Especially after that Jackie/Pete exchange to begin with.
And the fudging on the Doctor saying he loved Rose.... I knew they were gonna do that.
Hilarious ending too, lol.

That episode was great. I was surprised how quickly they managed to do everything, and do it somewhat properly too. Nice to see they have a proper "escape" for the Daleks too(do you think the other "council" members shifted too?).
Who was the bride at the end? She looked like Sarah Jane.

I feel like such a cow writing this, but oh. My. G-d. What a letdown. I thought it was going to be great, and it started off promising, what with the Daleks giving the Cybermen the finger (or the tentacle, as it were) and exterminating them, and the woman from Torchwood being converted into a Cyberman, and the scientist guy getting his face burned off, and Jake and co turning up. But once Pete came face to face with Jackie, it went down the toilet. Even the bit where the breach was closed couldn't save it, although I was pretty impressed when the Cyberman Yvonne Hartman turned on the other Cybermen. FOR QUEEN AND COUNTRY. I am never going to forgive Russell T Davies for ruining what could have been a fantastic episode. The thing that CharlesRB said would happen DID happen; Pete and Jackie got back together. They even had sex, for [censored]'s sake. Even though he'd said to her, "You're not my wife." And ROSE DIDN'T DIE. I thought she was going to get totalled by the Daleks, or Cyber'd, or commit suicide, or get ripped apart in the closing of the breach, but no. The last ten minutes were bloody awful, although I admit I did feel a bit sad for the Doctor, but meh, he'll get over it. The Parting Of The Ways was way better. And sorry, Ten fans, but Nine got a much better series. Christopher Eccleston was [censored]ing wasted. On the plus side, the next episode looks like it could be interesting, although if the cliffhanger Davies was banging on about really was Catherine Tate getting stuck in the Tardis, it's pretty lame.

Argh. I hate smegging Catherine Tate! The most talentless, mediocre, annoying female comedian around in my personal opinion. That was a wonderful 'tender' ending and they bloody ruined it with that. I really don't get what all the hype is about her. Really enjoyed the [censored]ing between the Daleks and the Cybermen though. Handbags at dawn ladies.

Heh, that was funny. It was like a playground fight, but with robots. I half expected the Daleks to say, "My dad could exterminate your dad!" And yeah, Catherine Tate is terrible. Lauren is just a bad Vicky Pollard rip-off.

Ah, I love the daleks. Those Cybermen got their asses handed to them on a silver platter, make no mistake.
Glad to see at least one survived too.
That mini insult match they had though... Classic.
"Dalek: We will win for Cybermen are superior in only one way! Cyberman: what is that? Dalek: You are better at dieing!"
And then when the Dalek says "It's not extermination, this is pest control!"

Fan-bleeding-tastic! A bit too sappy for my particular tastes, but it was apt, moving and well acted every step of the way. Absolutely spectacular entertainment from start to finish. The Cybermen and Daleks going to war with each other over the streets of London was terrific stuff. And the first exchange between them was brilliant. If there's one little gripe, it's that I'm getting a bit fed up with the Pete Tyler character. For a dead man he sure shows up in the series a helluva lot! Ah well...

Two questions, does anyone know what happened to that black Dalek? He just sorta disopeared, iturally.
Also, would all the "new" Cybermen be dragged into the void? They were made on this Earth after all and wouldn't be covered with that void dust stuff. Their might still be 5-6 Cybermen walking around.

Great episode, chock full of everything this year has lacked -- emotion, twists, character continuity. Sappy, sure, but sometimes you need to go to that place to match an epic plot. I don't see the problem with Pete & Jackie: it worked fine, and even though I don't like the alt-universe as an idea, it made for a satisfying full-circle finale for Rose; Jackie, Mickey and Pete fulfilled and her alone instead of the other way around as it's been for the whole season. It's not as good a capper as last year's by any stretch, but it was a good romp which was head and shoulders over everything else this year (well... not that hard I guess).
But the ending even beats out, "And then Captain Archer woke up a camp full of alien Nazis in America" for the most jarringly moronic idea ever. I hate end-of-year cliffhangers as a rule anyway. If you can't think of a way to segue the season to the next within the context of the story (as with the regeneration last year), don't bother and let the audience have a moment of satisfaction.

As a rule, I only regularly watch three television shows. Doctor Who, ER and 24. All three have just ended, and all three have really downbeat, cliffhanger endings! How am I supposed to survive until the next seasons? More happy, complete endings, please.

The whole Pete and Jackie thing just seemed a bit too predictable and cliched for me. I do agree about it making up for some of the other episodes, and Rose not having a particularly happy ending. I mean, at least she survived and she got to be with her parents and boyfriend, but the Doctor was practically the love of her life. Bugger Mickey. And she'd already lost him once, so to lose him again - and this time for good - must have been so painful. My opinion of the series: - The Christmas Invasion: good start to the series / introduction to the Bad Wolf-esque Torchwood bits, and the Doctor had some brilliant lines - New Earth: good, and it was nice to see Cassandra again - Tooth and Claw: OK, although the CGI was a bit iffy - School Reunion: good, nice bit of nostalgia for the Four fans with Sarah Jane and K9 (bless!) - The Girl in the Fireplace: a bit disappointing - Rise of the Cybermen / The Age of Steel: yes, I know most of you hated it, but I loved the Cybermen storyline - The Idiot's Lantern: the worst episode so far, had potential but didn't cut it - The Impossible Planet / The Satan Pit: I only saw the first episode, but liked what I saw, and the Ood were cool - Love & Monsters: didn't see it - Fear Her: great, very original idea - Army of Ghosts / Doomsday: Army Of Ghosts was probably the best episode of the series, and Doomsday started off well but was let down by sappiness

I can't imagine they made too many Cybermen, however, I'd say it's guaranteed that some survived somewhere - RTD has to bring them back next series/series after/sometime afterall.
The Black Dalek teleported away, presumably to a place it could survive the pull.
I have to say, I'll miss the Tylers and Mickey. I just hope they don't sully them by making replicas of them next season for the new companion.

What a wonderful series ender. Not as spectacular as The Parting Of The Ways last series but certainly excellent indeed. Some interesting point's liked about this episode: - Rose not actually "dying" but being classed as dead in this universe due to her disappearance. - The Genesis Ark being Timelord Technology. Obviously just like the Tardis it was large enough inside to contain an army of Daleks. - The coversation shared between the Cybermen and the Daleks. That was great. - Four Daleks vs a whole army of Cybermen. Daleks are great! - Exterminate > Delete. - Pete putting the Doctor in his place. - Jackie and Pete together. Awwwww! - The Doctor and Rose's goodbye. How sad it was he never got to say "I love you too". - Also the random appearance of the "runaway bride" right at the end. That was great. A point I didn't like about the episode was that Pete seemed to arrive at just the right time to save Rose which was a bit too lucky for my liking. How did he know exactly where to appear? Now all we have to do is wait for Christmas and "The Runaway Bride" and then it's on to series 3. I wonder how the Doctor will meet the new companion?

What a flipping fantastic episode..The exchange between the Daleks and The Cybermen was awesome and the fact that the Daleks were not scared of 5 million Cybermen but they feared 1 doctor..Also the Genesis ark being a prison cell w000t that was unexpected.
I doubt its the last we have seen of the Cybermen and the Daleks as the Black Dalek disappeared and as someone else said what about the Cybermen that did not come from the void?? and that raises another question not all the Daleks had come through the Void millions of them came from the genesis ark so how the heck were the pulled back into the Void if they never crossed it???
Also loved the bit where the Cybermen are betrayed by Yvonne as she blasts them all to hell and the black oil we see that symbolises tears....So sad.
It was good to see that Rose didn't die but then that raises my next question...if the Void was pulling everything back in then how did Pete appear and quickly disappear...surely he would of been dragged in before he had a chance to grab Rose.
Also we heard a reference to Bad wolf at the Bad Wolf bay
Im abit confused on the ending though as the Doctor told Rose he was circling around a Supernova...but suddenly this human bride appears WTF? How is she an alien or something? Did she fall through the tiny hole that the Doctor was communicating through??
Also I heard a rumor that Ant and Dec might be featured in the 3rd series w00t be cool to see them.

Bloody hell, excuse my swearing, but what an episode of Doctor Who, and I've only been a fan for 2 bloody years lol. You have to give the Special Effects Department Credit for their hand work, because they delivered some awesome work in Doomsday! The overall episode was just brilliant. The 4 Daleks have names, although I can't remember their names, it was pretty cool for them to have names, rather than call them boring old Daleks lol. That Arch that they were guarding seemed to be very important, and they say the Timelords were all destroyed, but this thing was the remaining thing on their Planet! Meanwhile The Torchwood Leader was turned in to a Cyberman, but later on, she showed all emotion and had defeat some Cybermen, and nice to see the tears for real emotion, way to go, kick some metal ass! The whole battle with the Daleks and Cybermen was the highlight of the episode, as the Cybermen were just getting destroyed easily. The best quote from this episode was from the Black Dalek "You Are Better At Dieing!" Something like that. It was cool to see the Taylor Family back together, as Pete came from the other world, and saved his Wife Jackie, and a nice hug at the end of that lol. The Dalek then wanted that Arch to be in the air, and so it did. I really couldn't believe this at all, the Arch is some kind of Future Hole, and once it opened, I saw a Dalek, but all of a sudden, lots were coming out, then The Doctor said it was a Prision Cell, oh my god lol. So the whole world has millions of Daleks lol, thats one way to make an entrance!!! Ok, The Doctor figured out a way to defeat the Daleks and The Cybermen, but resevering the Portal Hole, and sending them all to hell. Micky, Pete, and Jackie were transported along with Rose to the other world, but Rose wanted to stay with The Doctor. It was good to see Rose wanting to help because she is a brave girl after all. When they were sucking in the Daleks, plus Cybermen back in the whole, that was pretty funny, all you could hear were Daleks screaming "Aaaaaarghhh!" Then the Portal began to slow down as it took damage, and Rose needed to pull the lever to make it go at full speed. She was hanging on, until she couldn't any longer. I thought she was done for, thank god for her Dad, who warped back in, saved her, warped back to their world. Man, my mouth was open in shock lol. Soon enough, The Doctor kept calling Rose in her dream, and her Family, and Micky travelled miles to find him, at the Sea. Very emotional Rose was crying alot, and it nearly bought a tear to my eye too. They say Rose is dead in the other world, but not in this new world. She has a job at Torchwood, her boyfriend Micky, her Mum,Dad, what a great ending for her, her family and her friend. Great stuff. Right at the end, The Doctor saw a erm, Woman in a Wedding Dress, and he looked in shocked! Pretty strange, how did she get there? Christmas Special is Run Away Bride I believe. WOWZA! I'm going on here, so I'll stop.
