I wish one of them had been called Dalek Bob.

This episode beats out The Parting of the Ways in my opinion. It was far more fun, far more emotional, and didn't have Goddess Will- err Rose and the Bad Wolf disappointment.
I think this series averages out as just as good as the last. The last was more consistant and had a better flow overall - but nothing can match some of the episodes this series, such as this one, or the Girl in the Fireplace, or School Reunion. This series felt more colourful too, somehow. A little bit more fun.
It was disappointing though as I was expecting it to be BETTER Than the last. I hope Series 3 tops this. Don't know about the Ice Warriors though. I don't remember them at all.
I hope next series, we get to see the REAL Cybermen. Make them real scary in design, and way more badass than the Cybus industries ones. Give them their own little two parter. And bring back some villian like the Master, but give him new motivation and some gimmick to maek him interesting.

The Pete-Jackie thing was the biggest load of sappy cack in the last two years, and that's saying something. I spit on it.
And on being told Rose was going to die and then them wussing out.
And while I liked seeing the Daleks kick the living [censored] out of the Cybes, it seems a bit odd to bring back the Cybermen and hype up a Cybermen-Dalek battle when the Cybes are that outmatched. They hardly made a dent in the Daleks! Bit of a letdown for the Cybermen fans, surely?
Other than that, it's all good (especially the Genesis Ark) but Parting Of The Ways beats it on most fronts (though both have naff sappy endings).
Also - Harriet Jones ref! Represent, yo!

Glad to see someone else agrees with me. Being a Dalek fan, watching them kick the Cybermen's tin arses made me very happy. ;D What exactly did they do to the scientist? Did they burn his face off or something? Cos I'm aware the plunger things can crush someone's head (like they did with Simmonds in the last series).

To open up the rift between their world and this one so Rose et all could get sent there? To bring the Cybermen to a world where some could logically survive and thus inevitably make their necessary return/s? To have a rather [censored]ing cool war scene? To prove that the Daleks pwn them?

Because it gave the Daleks a more worthy, and different adversary. And was probably the biggest geek-gasm moment in the history of everything.

The proper Cybermen would kick a lot more ass. Those Cybermen were mostly made with "currently existing" technology.

Just saw it. The Dalek vs Cybermen battle was awesome, although as Charles said It was a bit of a let letdown for Cybermen fans. It would have been nice to see the Cybermen take out at least one Dalek. The ending was very sad, and I loved seeing The Doctor tearing up. But it was sightly ruined by the WTF cliffhanger.

I liked that bit, as it was a needed end to the morose atmosphere. The sheer randomosity of it just seemed to say "Ah well, life goes on" . Which it does, only now with 100% less Billie Piper. Hoo-RAH!

The Wedding Girl was pretty funny, the first thing she said was... "Ah"

Made into a Cyberman, I reckon. Then Mickey ends up killing her, and the Doctor feels even more useless because he couldn't put her out of her misery. Oh, and Jackie winds up in the alternate dimension with Pete. Well, I was partly right. Good episode, not the best. I was expecting the Genesis Ark to be something ridiculously amazing, so the revelation that it was just a prison ship was a bit disappointing. Kinda cool to see it spinning round spitting out Daleks though. I did think not killing Rose was a bit of a cop-out at first, but if you consider that she loves to travel, being forced to stay in one place is a pretty big punishment. The ending made me giggle. ;D All criticism can be brushed aside though, for the deeply, deeply wonderful sight of Daleks and Cybermen trash-talking. ... ...Did I mishear, or was one of the Daleks called Faye? EDIT: Just for fun, my rating for this series (and Christmas). The Christmas Invasion - 9/10 New Earth - 6/10 Tooth and Claw - 7/10 School Reunion - 9/10 (only missed out on a 10 for giving K9 a big emotional send-off then bringing him back in the next scene) The Girl in the Fireplace - 8/10 Rise of the Cybermen - 7/10 The Age of Steel - 8/10 The Idiot's Lantern - 7/10 The Impossible Planet - 7/10 The Satan Pit - 8/10 Love & Monsters - 9/10 Fear Her - 8/10 Army of Ghosts - 9/10 Doomsday - 8/10

Close - I think its actual name was Thay. Although considering how camp Daleks are, you might be right...

When people are punished they don't always deserve it. *checks Wikipedia* Tikal's right about that Dalek. Shame.

I was quite shocked, I thought the Daleks would have been from the parallel universe. And since the black Dalek warped away, there's a more sensible way of the Daleks returning. I thought it was a bit dumb how that woman resisted having her mind wiped by the Cyber upgrade, and I wish they would actually show the full conversion process. It was funny how the Cybermen and the Daleks were threatening each other, that was absolutely hilarious. "You are superior at dying." COOLEST. LINE. EVER.
Finally, Rose DIDN'T die. DAMN! Its not that I hate her, I just thought it would have been more dramatic if she was killed. I was hoping a Dalek would shoot her as it was sucked into the void.

When Pete and Jackie were runnign towards eachother, I was expecting.. well, rather hoping that a Cyberman would shoot one of them before they got to the other.
Would've been great.

I thought it was a bit dumb how that woman resisted having her mind wiped by the Cyber upgrade, and I wish they would actually show the full conversion process. Doesn't it involve cutting the person's head open and ripping out their brain? And Doctor Who IS before the watershed. Unless they had Doctor Who X-Rated or something.

I liked the episode on the whole, but felt cheated of my Rose Tyler death. Oh, and the enormous fan-[censored] of having an army of Daleks appear from nowhere was also a tad...lame. As was the way Dalek Sek employed a Deus Ex Machina and simply warped away. The sappyness doesn't bother me all that much. Some people are making way too big a deal out of it. Sure, it was cheesey, but this is Doctor Who; that's a given. Concerning the Cybes vs. Daleks fighting, I was expecting a Cyberman to (somehow) march up to a Dalek and crush its eye in one hand. That would've satisfied me. Instead they simply served as elaborate fodder. Anyone else think those big, chunky rebel guns really suit the Cybermen? But, despite that, it was a good finale.

Heh, my mum cried at the end of the episode. And I knew the Dalek was called Thay because we had the subtitles on. I loved the bit where the Cybermen and Dalek were bantering. "Daleks have no need for elegance." "That much is obvious."
