It was funny how the Cybermen and the Daleks were threatening each other, that was absolutely hilarious. "You are superior at dying." COOLEST. LINE. EVER. Nope. Gotta disagree there. The coolest line ever was... "THIS IS NOT WAR!!! THIS IS PEST CONTROL!!!!" ;D Never before have I met such a sarcy Dalek.

Just saw it, a week later ¬_¬
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was predictable, but awesome.

I'm quite upset that I did not see either episode.
Curse you scheduling conflicts!

Tonight was incredibly lame without Doctor Who :/
I had to remedy it by a double bill of Firefly.

Now come on. I'm all for opinions, but L&M was by FAR the worst episode in the series. Hell, it was worse than the Slitheen episodes last series. Horribly miscast, badly written, and yet another example of Davies' gay metaphors getting prescidence over good storytelling. It was awful, despite an interesting concept.

My ratings on series 2: The Christmas Invasion - 8/10 Didn't see all of it though what I did see was good. The whole concept of the control via blood type was creepy. Brought down only by Billie's somewhat over the top whining about the Doctor not being able to help her. Other than that it was a great episode and it introduced Tennant's Doctor very well. New Earth - 8/10 A nice starting episode for series 2. We really get to see a lot more of Tennant's character and understand what he's like. The face of Bode was very mysterious and intriguing (and surprisingly never resolved in this series). The whole of Cassandra's skipping between the Doctor and Rose's bodies was great - shows great acting from Tennant and Billie. Nice ending for Cassandra's character as well. It shows that anyone can change if give the chance. Tooth and Claw - 8/10 A fantastic episode full of danger and excitement and it sets the scene for the remaining series. The werewolf was great and the transformation was a good piece of CG. The way events unraveled was also nice to watch.School Reunion - 7/10 Another good if not fantastic episode. I liked the conspiracy elements and using the children's souls to solve the equation of the universe (or whatever it was) was interesting. Anthony Head was nice to see again and showed great acting like always. Being a fairly recent viewer of Doctor Who I can't say that seeing an old assistant really excited me but seeing Rose and Mary Jane squabble over who had the best adventures with the Doctor and then them recalling all the times he was rather obnoxious and annoying was great to watch. K9 was also rather good and would have been better if the Doctor hadn't brought him back at the end. Rather ruined the point of his sacrifice. The Girl in the Fireplace - 10/10 Madness you might say, but this episode gets full marks for being so good. The best episode of the series for me. Full of great twists and strange elements that kept me captivated from beginning to end. I loved the concept of clockwork robots. I was really impressed by that. The characters also showed real emotion with the Doctor and Madame Du Pompadour falling in love with each other but not being able to be together because of the time jumps. The revelation at the end about the ship being named after Madame Du Pompadour was great and made us viewers feel smarter than the Doctor for once knowing that that is why the clockwork robots were after her brain all this time.Rise of the Cybermen - 9/10 The Age of Steel - 7/10 The Idiot's Lantern- 8/10 The Impossible Planet - 8/10 The Satan Pit - 7/10 Love & Monsters - 7/10 Fear Her - 8/10 Army of Ghosts - 9/10 Doomsday - 8/10

Where miscasting? I found everyone excellent (although Elton took a bit of time to grow on me). Focusing on minor people in the Doctor's world? Great. The bit where we see that the Internet literally blew up during the Sycorax business was inspired. And I loved the stream-of-consciousness style, but then I like that type of writing anyway. And the scenes with Jackie were probably the best bit of this whole series I didn't even notice the metaphor until Ed pointed it out to me.

From memory... Invasion -- 7/10 New Earth -- 6/10 T&C -- 7/10 SR -- 7/10 GITF -- 8/10 Rise -- 5/10 Age -- 5/10 Idiot -- 2/10 Impossible -- 7/10 Satan -- 8/10 L&M -- 7/10 Fear Her -- 5/10 Ghosts -- 6/10 Doomsday -- 9/10
And for its flaws, I thought L&M was pretty good. It had a pulse, which is more than can be said of much of the year.

They filmed the Christmas special in Cardiff again. My friend was harassing them with her little brother lol, she got Catherine Tates autograph but not Tennants. She also told me a minor spoiler for the episode, because she knows the basic outline of it due to watching them.. The sycorax are back. All I know is that there was a huge Santa outside Howells.

If that's true, it's a bit unimaginative on RTD's part. Surely he can do something new this time round.

The Doc and Martha stop off in a Carpark in the Cotswolds - Aparantly, according to the Doctor Who site, Martha's a Medical Student...she certainly looks gormless enough I kid I kid - I'm sure she's great Not Sure about the Doc's Blue suit though - ah well

After the end of the last episode of last series, I was paranoid that Catherine Tate would have been the doctor's new partner. If that had been the case, I would have had to destroy the BBC. Can't stand Catherine Tate for my life.

Can't stand Catherine Tate for my life. Well she sort of is, for one episode - Martha's getting introduced at the start of season 3, so Ms. Tate's character is sort of filling in for the role of Doctor's assistant at Christmas. Be brave

Probably not much.

Another thing, the Daleks aren't going to be in the next series are they? They're cool and all, but don't you think they should give it a rest? Now as for Cybermen (the REAL ones, not the parallel "Cybusmen" as some call them), seeing them again would be cool, but only for a one-off adventure, nothing leading to a big battle in the season finale.
