I just got my hands on the second and third trades of the Eighth Doctor comic strips.
Bugger the second Season, this is where it's at! Giant biomechanical snakes eating spaceships and having jungles full of atavistics animals in their bellies!
Plus I care much more about Izzy than Rose. Gets a more interesting departure too.

Paul McGann: yet another ace person fallen victim to crappiness in the media. Other casualties are Halo 2's Arbiter, ex Iron Maiden sing Blaze Bayley, and the Sega Dreamcast.

I sometimes read the Eighth Doctor Adventure novels, and I must say that there are some elements of these books that I think should have a mention in the series.
Faction Paradox, for example. A time traveling voodoo cult led by Grandfather Paradox, everyone's future self. They were responsible for the first destruction of Gallifrey (or so the story goes) which sent the Doctor into his one hundred years trapped on Earth without any memories of his Time Lord life.
If not a villain, it would be an interesting recurring theme future series, much like Bad Wolf and Torchwood.

*BUMPITY BUMP* It may interest people to know that the official Doctor Who site is running it's very own Advent Calander this year, in a crafty lead-in to The Runnaway Bride on the 25th. Lots of little sneak peaks, games, clips and so on. Go check it out! www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/Also: Santa's had a makeover...

I think Stephen Fry should be the next Doctor Who.

ME FOR DOCTOR! Or...I dunno, bring back the third doctor via voodoo. Or computer technology. Either would be good.

I think we should have an older Doctor for the next regeneration... Ian McKellen, perhaps?

I think we should have an older Doctor for the next regeneration... Ian McKellen, perhaps? If it prevents these displays of affection between the Doctor and his companions, an older actor would be good. What happened to the enigmatic alien Doctor of the Tom Baker days?

I suggested McKellen because it would be nice to once again see the Doctor as classic fans remember him: aged, sophisticated... posh. Not that I don't like the new Doctors, I happen to favour David Tennant above all the others, I'm just saying that it couldn't hurt to take the Doctor back to his roots, so to speak.

Bill Nighy as the eleventh Doctor would rock so hard I would fall over.
And it might actually happen, seeing as he is now in EVERYTHING EVER MADE...

Simon Pegg should be the Doctor. Wait, no, Nick Frost. The first fat lazy Doctor!

Bill Nighy would be the 'fish-Doctor'. I've not as much of Bill Nighy as I probably should have on either the small or silver screen. What has he been in of late?
