I personally preferred the Killer Christmas Trees to the Robo-Santas.

Like the Star Trek-style "explosion sends a character flying, arms flailing".
I hope the robot Santas aren't going to become an annual thing or something. The Doctor said last year they're like pilotfish, yeah? Follow the bigger predator? (I've seen the big bad for this episode, looks pretty awesome.)

For the record, I HATE Catherine Tate. I doubt that this bovvers her. Also, I would like to see the Sontarans in the new series.

Is this the return of the Sycorax? Or a new alien race entirely?

Is this the return of the Sycorax? Or a new alien race entirely? New race, or new individual anyway. The Empress of the Racnoss, a giant humanoid spider that is the largest non-CG monster ever to appear on the show. Check page 20 of the Christmas edition of the Radio Times for a little picture.

They had some pretty big spiders back in the serial Planet of the Spiders, and then they had giant ants and butterflies in Web of Fear from 1966.
With special effects and so forth, there's probably no limit to the size of alien household pests in Doctor Who.

Bill Nighy as the eleventh Doctor would rock so hard I would fall over. And it might actually happen, seeing as he is now in EVERYTHING EVER MADE... So would Bill Nye. >_> --Ray

Here's a question. Are there any old villains (Daleks and Cybermen excluded) that anyone would like to see in the new series?
I think that the Sontarans should be brought back, or maybe even The Master. Certain death has never stopped him before.

Bill Nye The Sci-Fi guy! ;D To be honest I don't think there are any of the past aliens I'd like to see, it's really only the Daleks and Cybermen I can remember and for good reason. Plus with all the advances of special effects people expect a bit more.

Christmas Invasion got repeated just now. So we can all see once again that Harriet Jones was right and the Doctor was a complete git. To be honest I don't think there are any of the past aliens I'd like to see Sontarans, Rutans, Ice Warriors, Silurians, the Mara, Fenric...

Surely Fenric was destroyed by the last Haemovore in the gas chamber?
The Rutan should make another appearance, at least once. We never do find out how, or if, their war with the Sontaran Empire was ended.

Surely Fenric was destroyed by the last Haemovore in the gas chamber? The body he was in was destroyed, but Fenric himself could be out there... They're still fighting in the year 12000 AD, so it'll be a looooooong time yet...

The body he was in was destroyed, but Fenric himself could be out there... I suppose that's possible. The Doctor describes Fenric as evil incarnate. He said the same of Satan and Sutekh the Destroyer, and he destroyed them as well in quite imaginative ways (casting Satan into a black hole and sending Sutekh into a time tunnel). Maybe the Doctor could arrive a short time after that? From what I know, their armies have spent considerable time locked in an impasse of some sort. However, I have the feeling that the Sontarans could be winning/have won. In Horror of Fang Rock, the Doctor implies that the Rutan Host is on the brink of defeat. Of course, I could be mistaken.

In Horror of Fang Rock, the Doctor implies that the Rutan Host is on the brink of defeat. Yeah, but that was back in 1903 and the war carries on until 12000 AD. Guess the Sontarans buggered up their winning streak.

I've also noticed I'm a lot less tolerant of Rose's moping this time around - get off the screen, you're taking up valuable UNIT time!
