Captain, you're one of the only people I've seen who actually likes McCoy! Which is odd because McCoy drokking rules.

Remembrance of the Daleks is one of my favourite Doctor Who stories.

I've seen episodes of all the Doctors.
I can't really remember pretty much any of the old series mind you, but I have seen them.
Tennant seems to be doing a mighty fine job to me, and has been thoroughly enjoyable to watch. Can't say I'd at all argue that he'd be at least among the top Doctors.
Here's a good question. The BBC owns Doctor Who, correct? And it has (except for the ones they were daft enough to record over/lose) every episode of Doctor Who ever made, correct?
Why the smeg are they not being repeated on BBC 2?
And why the smeg hasn't the movie been shown on the telly since like 1999?
The BBC are [censored]ing morons.

Nowadays, many people seem to watch the new episodes and say they know everything about the series. Confront them with a question about Thals, Haemovores and the like and they'll run for the hills. Like I said, the older series would be potentially met with a lack of appreciation.

He isn't. People see a bloke in leather and assume it's him. Their faces and voices are different enough, so I think we're safe to say it isn't the one who's grabbing Martha from behind.

UKTV Gold shows the older ones occasionally - I caught the end of the movie a month or two ago. But yes, considering I was introduced to Who aged about 8 when they started repeating Pertwee episodes on BBC2 on Saturday mornings, they really should do it again.
Surely repeating the ones with Sarah Jane (that was Pertwee/Baker the First wasn't it?) would be a great way to lead up to Sarah Jane Adventures.

Pertwee was the first Doctor I remember, although it might possibly have been Troughton.

Pertwee was my first Doctor too, one of my earliest TV memories is of him and the TARDIS in some random English field and him stumbling around. I think he had amnesia or something....
Like I said, my memory of the original series' is drastically minimal - despite knowing that I have seen at least a couple of episodes for each Doctor, probably only one each for the first two. I'd really love to get a chance to see these episodes again and - even if they'll be difficult to watch by today's standards - reaquaint myself with the various Doctors and their stories.
And see more of the Daleks obviously. Back when they were a multicoloured glory of rainbow homocidal gayness.
Of course, the best Doctor ever was obviously Rowan Atkinson.

So very true. Of course it's obvious why: He never had his own series. I've been hoping he'll make an appearance in a new series at some point, either in a Doctor crossover like the ones we've had in the past, or maybe a flashback episode, possibly a tale of the Time War.

One has to wonder what the point of flashbacks in a series where once can TIME TRAVEL are.
If we ever see the Time War, it'll be through the eyes of whatever Doctor is cast in the role at the time, probably doing it all over again.
Not that I imagine we ever will see the Time War.

Did no-one pay any attention at all to my post about the new radio series starring McGann that will take the Doctor up to his regeneration into Eccleston and therefore almost certainly cover the Time War that starts tonight?

Erm...thanks for that? The radio drama was good. You can listen to it here FROM TOMORROW. Although it was a bit confusing that Lucy (new companion) was from 2006...time travel, eh?

There's something very camp about them, you can imagine them mincing down a corridor going "Ooh, delete you!" This is the OLD Cybermen, mind, not the frightening new ones.

This is the OLD Cybermen, mind, not the frightening new ones. Yeah, it was well frightening how they originally had no weapons and had to lumber slowly after you if they wanted to get you, and even more scary how easily they got Dalek slaughtered.

Nah, tthat's the third most terrifying Cyber related thing ever.
The second most terrifying Cyber-related thing ever is the audio drama Spare Parts, where one of the early Cybermen goes wrong and, insane and not knowing what it's doing or who it is, goes back to its family...
The first is the moment in the Crystal Of Cantus audio drama when our leads find, on a colony that's been Cyber-converted, find a dark room with many cribs and we find out what the Cybermen do with babies....

Jessica Stevenson's in the new series! (According to Wikipedia. Can't help but notice lack of evidence on the IMDB there.)

Wasn't there a Cyberman in one of the comics who 'broke his programming' and became an ally of the Doctor?
