Slipknot is just for little wannabe goth-kids, IMO.

Nah, at least Garbage used to be pretty cool. Version 2.0 was good anyway. "Used to be"? Have you heard the first five songs of "Bleed Like Me"? Utterly superlative.

I've just stopped writing what I was going to say as it was your opinion, and I highly respect that, but if you heard some of the stuff that deepest Norway churns out, you'd be a little closer to understanding what a Goth listens to. Man, I'm sitting here wearing an orange T-shirt, listening to NOFX and spinning around on a swivel chair like I just don't care. Just don't label that stereotype on me, please. Unbelievable...! It's controversy time, kids! The hell? Shut up.

;D Okay, fair enough, you're hardcore. But you must admit, Slipknot is awfully popular with wannabe goth-kids. Agreed. The number of children mooching around my town wearing black hoodies because they think they're unique or special scares me. Then again, I'm scared easily. *Wing Fortress music comes out over the speakers* AIYEE!

What were you gonna say?
Trust me I like slipknot but unlike some of the people in black hoodies trying to be scary I have a life.
I do wear hoodies sometimes To keep me warm. The only time I put a hood over my head is when it rains.

Goths all freak me out a bit. My sister used to be a bit like that before she grew a brain and returned to normality! There's tons of them everywhere where I live, ranging from the full-on goth types with their black leather trenchcoats, white face make up, multible piercings and dodgy looking giant boots with huge soles and buckles everywhere, to the wannabe goths with their black hoodies (as previously pointed out) and "badass" attitudes. I look at the full-on goths though and I just wonder why?! Why would any normal, well balanced human being wanna dress like a corpse? I couldn't imagine walking out in public dressed that way, wearing any makeup on my face, let alone white makeup! It's ironic really because they're all doing it to try and express their individuality, except it doesn't really when every other freak around is doing the exact same thing to express their individuality too!
Personally, I think my sister-in-law had it spot on, she reckons they're all tortured souls. The whole goth thing is just a cry for help, and it's true. Every one of these I've ever met seem really emotionally screwed up, totally crushed of their own self worth and just desperate to feel like they're alive. Even in my sister, when she was going through her goth phase it seemed to coincide with her own emotional struggles and her depression. When she got herself into a stable place with stable surroundings and people that could make her happy that was when she seemed to turn back into a normal person!

I think it's more of a cry for attention than a cry for help. I used to think they looked pretty cool, but now it's just beyond cliche.

Man whats wrong with you guys "Goths freak me out" my sister and her friends are goths and they are really sound and they aren't screwed up or anything and the goths you guys talk about are just messed up and all the goths I've met don't act like that.
Or maybe Irish goths are just different.

Or maybe Irish goths are just different. Could be. Farnborough goths are all just clinically depressed people obsessed with trying to inflict pain on themselves in some vain hope trying to fulfill some empty part of their life. Them flesh tunnels are creepy too. If human beings were meant to have great big holes in their ear lobes I'm sure we would've been born with them!

I no that is so annoying, I'm a year 10 and year 7's are so [censored]ing cocky, one of them half our hight started having a go at us for telling them to [censored] off when they were being annoying so then attempted to start on us. I have got to say it was funny though cos they have such high pitched voices.

Hey, I like Slipknot- I went to see them live at the Unholy Alliance tour last October, where they played along with Slayer, Masterdon and Hatebreed. Some think that just because I listen to this music I am in need of special attention. I listen to all kinds of stuff, ranging from Heavy metal ( like Slipknot), to more nu-metal (System of a Down) and punky stuff like The Offspring and Seether. I don't like to tie myself down to any particular genre, but this is what appeals to me.
And for the record, I don't wear Slipknot hoodies, nor do I own a pair of "those" boots

Thank you!
And for the rest of you, many others could place stereotypes on you. Say you listen to dance music- I could turn around and say that you are a chav and that you tuck your tracksuit bottoms into your sock, that you live on a council estate and that your dad is in the nick for stealing a car. See? People don't like being stereotyped, and I make a habit of not doing it, at least for the peace of the community

Did anyone see them in the Manchester MEN with Slayer? Brilliant gig. The Subliminal Verses surprised me, it's got piano and gasp, even harmonies as opposed to just screaming profanities. I do wear hoodies and baggy trousers, but not all the time. I like all kinds of music, not just metal. I do self-injure and I am clinically depressed, but that in no way has any influence on my music taste.

There new sing is shear brilliance. Before I forget you. They don't have there masks off in the video but you don't see all of there face. The lead singers shoes in it are wicked. I never thought he'd have light blue eyes. Azel: You have my respect. I like slipknot but I couldn't bring myself to get a slipknot hoodie or die my hair red.

I've only heard, and liked, one song by Slipknot: My Plague. Death metal's not exactly my thing.

'Before I Forget'. Get it right! Unless it's changed from the album to single.
