This has been advertised a lot on Toonami, but I've not seen it on Sky One before. Anyone know what it's about? From some clips of the show, it looks like it's set in the Johto League, because there's Pikachu, Togepi, Chikorita and some others by a fire.

Pokemon Chornicles is a western adaption of a series they have in Japan. It's nothing to get excited about, Chronicles is just reruns of some of the special episodes in Pokemon that deviate from the main plot of the series. Plus little collections of noteworthy episodes in the series (Like the finding of Charmander and the episodes in which he evolves)
The only new footage in this series is animation of Brock and Misty as hosts of the program, plus a few segments which can be things like Top 10 lists or silly live-action costume dramas (which will have been cut out for this version)

I read it on a website some episode guides, it seems to be about characters that Ash & co met along the way.
The first one is about Gary Oak, the others are about Tracey, Casey (the girl from Johto who liked black and yellow), and Richie the guy from the Indigo League with the Pikachu. Also, Butch and Cassidy (aka Team Rocket) are in almost every episode.

Yeah in basic terms, the shows focus is on characters met in the main series, They might even translate a few of those catch up eps that haven been given the translation treatment yet (like a few of the specials from the advanced series) T_T No. Chronicles is actually quite good, this series allows for character building in the series without it being directly linked to Ash and co. Plus the little anthologies and such help newer viewers that may have missed the original series...

Ahem. 'twas expressing an opinion, because I've seen an episode and I didn't like it. Thanks again, Madhair.

Slightly off topic here, but do you think they'll ever show the 3 banned episodes from the original series?
There's the Safari Zone one, the one where they go into a computer world and see Porygon, and there's one about an Articuno.
I remember why 2 of these got banned, the Safari Zone one had the warden shooting at Ash & co, and the Porygon one caused children to have seizures.

I think the only way us in the UK and US (assuming they haven't aired there) to see the episodes, is if we download them or import them from Japan. I would check out the first episode of this, but my French oral starts at the same time and I have to be in my college at least half an hour before it starts.

Wish I could see this, actually. Seems a nice change from the drivel of the newer generation stuff (by which I mean, I like some of the guest characters. Hate others though)

OMGWT-*slaps self* really gotta stop doing that...
I suprised pokémon is still going. I watched the first couple of series, but I kinda lost interest during the Jhoto(sp?) League. Same with the cards. I had a respectable collection, but then they went all Maxis on it and started adding more.
How are the current series? Any good or utter drivel?

It's alright actually. It doesn't just concentrate on Ash's Gym battles anymore, it includes May's Pokemon Contest battles too. And it had a cameo from Misty not long ago. She's now the leader of the Cerulean gym, and Togepi evoled into Togetic!!

She wasn't actually.
She only fought Ash because all her sisters' Pokemon were exhausted.
Her sisters ran the gym normally.

I want Pikachu to evolve. He's too cute.
Do you know, when it was waaay back in the Indigo League, I thought Ash's Pokemon would evolve to their highest forms. Bulbasaur- Venusaur, Squirtle- Blastoise. But nooo.
He goes and gives Bulbasaur to Prof. Oak, and gives Squirtle back to the Squirtle Squad. Jeez. And when Pidgeot evolved, he let him stay looking after the Pidgeotto and Pidgey. My god.
Am I the only one who got excited when they saw a Pokemon evolve lol?

Pokemon evolutions were always an intreresting part of the series. However the best evolution was Caterpie-Metapod-Butterfree ^_^. Partally becasue Ash gets so happy about it that and Butterfrees final episode is so sweet and sad at the same time
Misty is part leader of the Cerulean Gym. Her 3 older sisters normally run it though so she doesnt really need to be there during the time shes with Ash. The only reason she goes back is due to her sisters taking a round the world trip. HOWEVER In the game shes leader of the gym so the confusion is understandable

Her sisters are on a round the world trip?
How come in one of the latest Advanced episodes some guy they meet along the way says he got a Cascade Badge from one of her sisters for sweeping the floor.
And in a Pokemon Chronicles episode, Tracy goes to the Cerulean Gym to see one of her sisters?

Ok, Pokemon Chronicles is quite good. It's been repeated at least 5 times since wednesday. The only thing I think is weird about it.. they've gone into way too much detail in drawing the girls ass lol. Seriously, it's wrong. But good story so far, part 2 is on next Wednesday.
