Has anyone been watching these on Toonami? I watched the first one, I was surprised because it's like just over the length of a normal episode. I attempted to watch some others, but turning Krillin into a little boy (he was voiced by a kid), just annoyed me. But I liked the one with Coola earlier (Frieza's brother), but considering Goku took a lot of effort, even when he was a Super Saiyan, to beat Frieza, he kicked ass more or less straight away with Coola. There's one on next Friday at 5:30pm. One Billion Robot Warriors or something along those lines. They go to Namek, and the Nameks are being enslaved by robots, and a 'surprise' is there for them. It's obviously not a surprise, because any one with some brain cells can figure out it's gonna be Frieza. Anyone watch the movies this week? Anyone going to watch the next one, next friday?

Can I spoil the suprise? since I saw it about 3 years ago and know what happens. I haven't watched any on CN, but i've seen er.. I think it's movie 5 (the one that introduces coola), movie 6 (follows on directly from the cooler movie) , movie 7 (more androids), the broli movies (i think that's 8,9,10. not positive) and the Janemba movie which I think was 13.

It's obviously not a surprise, because any one with some brain cells can figure out it's gonna be Frieza. Its not Frieza. Its Cooler. Meta-Cooler to be precise. It says so on the official DBZ website because the movie is called "Return of Cooler". Typical. They could of thought up of a better name. Like "The Plight of Namek" or something. No, wait. That's not any better. V__V

I haven't watched the recent ones, I lost my interest in DBZ awhile ago. I remember watching the older ones, they seems pretty cool at the time... but now I realize they were just like big episodes.
Though I remember seeing pictures and videos of the newer movies, they look pretty cool.

Zero, they said on Toonami it was called One billion Robot Warriors or something, I'm 100% sure they never said "Return of Cooler" I saw the advert again today. They definitely said it was called "Fight! 10 Billion Power Warriors".

Toonami of Europe have either messed it up or thought they could give a cooler name ( ). There is no DBZ movie which is called "One... whatever... robot warriors". It has got to be Return of Cooler. Its the only DBZ movie which has New Namek in it.

The japanese title was one million kajillion fafillion, etc warriors. But the Return of Cooler sounded cooler ( ) for the translated title.

I clearly missed that.. big green... is that referring to lord Slug or something? N'ah - it's Piccolo, but they changed the name and it sucks! Also, in the one with Slug, Goku has a really deep voice that doesn't suit him; he's always had that freindly, almost child like voice that reflects his care free nature... or something. One more thing - a friend bought me the DBZ movie with Slug in it, it had pictures of the movie on the back of the box, but the summary matches the other movie available in the UK, called "Super Siaya Son Giku" weird... One more thing (sorry)- in this movie, the time lines are a bit scewey- King Kai says that Slug is from the destroyed Planet Namek, the home world of the Nameks. However, why doesn't Goku turn into a Super Saiyan and easily beat Slug? Unless this takes place before the Namek Saga, and Kame and Piccolo are the only two Nameks Goku knows about (at that time). But if that's the case, then why did King Kai say Namek was destroyed? He is supposed to know everything that goes on in his sector of the universe. Very strange...

Yeah, a lot of this stuff doesn't make sense.
Was it my imagination or did Gohan still have his tail in the movie with Cooler? When he had it removed long before he went to Namek?
I love nitpicking stuff, it's fun lol.

It's odd. But I don't think the creators of DBZ don't even bother with trying to fit the movies into the timeline. What they did instead was make a movie after completing a saga or such.
E.g. They made Return of Cooler after completing the Cell Games saga in Japan. Basing it off the characters current desings. Despite the fact that Goku is alive in this film yet he died in the Cell Games.
So think of the movies as alternate realities.

It is odd, because the creator (can't be bothered to check the name) wrote DB and DBZ as mangas first, and they were faithfully adapted onto the small screen, it just seems to strange that the same effort hasn't gone into the movies...

Yeah. The movies are a waste of time.
The only decent one was the Cooler one. So far anyway.
I don't think the DBZ Movies do actually fit into the timeline. You're just meant to know the basics, and not nitpick, apparently.

A little off topic, but does anyone remember how DBZ changed the title music and video after the Frieza saga? After about 10 episodes, they changed it back to the old title, bar a few new scenes from the Frieza saga and a new song. And it sucked! The middle one was so much cooler due to the little guitar rifts, plus it showed clips from the Garlic Jr. Saga.

I only remember the 2, the old one with the lyrics "Dragon, dragon, rock the dragon, dragon-ball-zee" and the second one which continued right until the end "Dragon-dragonball, dragonball-zeee, dragon dragonball, zeee"
*Windows Smash*
Whoops.

It had no lyrics, only the music at the end of the credits of the early episodes, only longer

Nah. I don't remember.
Know what's annoying me. In 2001 I missed what happened to Majin Buu, because I moved house and lost Cable.
Then back in December/January they showed it again, and I got hooked. They got up to where there were 2 Episodes left of DBZ, and then I missed them both! It took literally 3 months to do the whole Tournament/Majin Buu/Fusion/Buu/Last Tournament sagas.
And they were showing 4 episodes at a time then. This is going to take much longer if I want to see the last 2 episodes, finally.

This is basically the whole Kid Buu Saga:
Episode 261 - Evil Kid Buu!: When Super Buu's body begins to mutate once again, Goku and Vegeta have to get out fast! But what awaits them if they manage to escape? What is the insidious Buu turning into now?
Episode 262 - End of Earth: After the chords of attachment to the roly-poly Buu are severed by Vegeta, Majin Buu is expected to mutate into a much weaker form. But instead he gets even stronger! This baffles everyone but Kibito Kai, who discloses Majin Buu's bizarre history! And who is the first victim of this new, demonic Buu?? Mother Earth herself!
Episode 263 - True Saiyans Fight Alone: With the Earth erased from existence, Majin Buu goes on a manhunt for Goku and Vegeta that leaves a string of destroyed worlds in its wake. But when Buu's search leads him to the Great Kai Planet, Goku and Vegeta draw the line! The Super Saiyans lure Buu away by raising their power levels and disclosing their whereabouts, thus setting the stage for the battle of all battles!
Episode 264 - Battle for the Universe Begins: With Majin Buu on the scene and ready to fight, Kibito Kai is stunned to see Goku and Vegeta playing a game of "rock, paper, scissors"! Rather than use the Fusion Technique to join their powers, the duo has decided to fight Buu one at a time. First up is Goku, the lucky winner...or has his luck just run out?
Episode 265 - Vegeta's Respect: When Super Saiyan 3 Goku collapses from exhaustion, Vegeta has to step in and fight. But in no time, Vegeta himself is felled! And just as Majin Buu is about to deliver the death blow, a rejuvenated Goku rejoins the fight and saves him. Astounded by his greatness, the Saiyan Prince pays a moving tribute to his long-time rival!
Episode 266 - Minute of Desperation: As his fight against the inexhaustible Buu continues, Goku's powers begin to diminish. The Super Saiyan 3 wants to end the battle before it's too late, but he needs time to gather enough energy to finish the job. Enter Vegeta, who begins a furious battle with Buu to buy Goku the needed time. Totally outclassed, can the Saiyan Prince manage to stay alive?
Episode 267 - Old Buu Emerges: Just as Vegeta is about to breathe his last breath in his heroic but failing effort against Majin Buu, the Champ steps in to take up the challenge! It seems that the would-be-hero has signed his death warrant, but when Buu tries to attack him he becomes crippled with agony! The wicked Buu soon discovers the source of his pain, and it turns out to be a big, pink surprise!
Episode 268 - Earth Reborn: As the good Majin Buu wages an all out war against his evil counterpart, Vegeta has Dende summon the Dragon on the new Planet Namek. Through the miraculous power of the Dragon Balls, the Earth and its inhabitants are restored to life! But with the good Buu's power rapidly decreasing, will Vegeta have enough time to carry out the final phase of his plan?
Episode 269 - Call to Action: With time running out, Goku desperately awaits the arrival of the Earthlings' collective energy to vitalize the Spirit Bomb. But the energy isn't coming! Why have the people of the Earth turned a deaf ear to Vegeta's plea for help at this most critical hour?
Episode 270 - People of Earth Unite: When the people of Earth ignore even Goku's cry for help, it looks like defeat is imminent. But when the World Champion steps in and asks, the skeptical humans have a change of heart. Will their outpouring of energy arrive in time? Goku can only wait and watch in horror as Vegeta, his last defense, crumbles under the might of Majin Buu!
Episode 271 - Spirit Bomb Triumphant: When the good Buu and Hercule free Vegeta from Majin Buu's grasp, Goku launches the Spirit Bomb! But the weary Saiyan doesn't have enough power to deliver the blast, and Buu sends it right back at him! Will Goku be destroyed by his own attack or can a last second wish to the Dragon save the day?
Episode 272 - Celebrations with Majin Buu: When Goku and his companions return to Earth after defeating Majin Buu, they are welcomed with open arms. But nobody is happy to see the good Buu! Can the Champ's pink pal manage to fit into society? Or is he destined to become an outcast?
Episode 273 - He's Always Late: Chi-Chi, Gohan, and Goten prepare to go to Bulma's house for a barbeque, but Goku is nowhere to be found. As Chi-Chi's anger rises, Goku is having troubles of his own. While waiting to witness the hatching of four dragon eggs, troubles arise casting him into the role of the egg protector. Goku must do his best to guard the fragile eggs not knowing that he will soon face another danger, an angry Chi-Chi!
Episode 274 - Granddaughter Pan: Ten years have passed since the evil Majin Buu was destroyed, and the Earth is enjoying a time of peace! Gohan has become a scholar and is happily married to Videl. Trunks and Goten have become strong, young teenagers! Vegeta and Bulma have a new daughter named Bulla! And, oh yes!, Goku's a grandfather!
Episode 275 - Buu's Reincarnation: Goku has Mr. Buu magically rig the drawings so Goku can fight Uub in the first round of the World Martial Arts Tournament. Uub, a ten year-old human boy, is the reborn, purely good version of Kid Buu! But first Pan must face off against Wild Tiger in her first match. How will the energetic young Pan fare against her first opponent? And what does Goku have up his sleeve?
Episode 276 - Goku's Next Journey: Uub, growing stronger as the battle rages, is able to learn to fight during his match with Goku, soon becoming the Saiyan's equal! Neither warrior gives an inch in this fast paced, destructive battle. But before the match is decided, Goku makes a startling offer to Uub. With his plan revealed, Goku and Uub depart the arena leaving a stunned crowd in their wake.

@ Dave and Azel: Toonami of Europe did something utterly pathetic and stupid. From the Saiyan to the Trunks Sagas, they simply got tapes from Toonami of America. The Saiyan and Namek Sagas were dubbed by Pioneer. Then, by the Captain Ginyu Saga, Toonami of America hired FUNimation to do the dubbing job, and continued to do so all the way through. But Toonami of Europe just went bonkers. For the last three episodes of the Trunks Saga right all the way to the end they hired AB to dub the episodes that would be aired in the UK. Heavens knows why. It was utterly pointless in the first place. Perhaps they were afraid that young children would become punksters if they ever heard the FUNimation music. Either way, if you ever manage to get the chance to watch Cartoon Network in a holiday to the U.S.A., then you'll be able to see the FUNimation episodes. They are loads better, in terms of music and voice-overs. The music is really that good. You can buy the soundtrack in certain stores. Its mainly because FUNimation didn't make their own music up, they hired Faulconer Studios for that. So to sumarrize: U.S.A. - Toonami of America hire Pioneer to dub the Saiyan and Namek sagas. Pioneer also replace the oringinal Japenese soundtrack with their own music. By Captain Ginyu saga, ToA ditch Pioneer and hire FUNimation to do the job instead. FUNimation, rather then having over-inflated views of themselves, only do the voice-overs and hire Bruce Faulconer and his music studios to do the music. Thanks to this, DBZ became one of the most popular animies in the U.S.A. Europe - Toonami of Europe simply take videos from ToA from the Saiyan Saga to near the end of the Trunks Saga. By the last three episodes, they suddenly become demented and pointlessly hire new dubbers who, like Pioneer, make their own music beside voice-overs. Whoever's idea THAT was should die a horrible death. I can imagine what the offices of ToE were like on that fateful day...: ToE Executive #1: DBZ is tremendously popular in America! All thanks to FUNimation hiring actual professionals for the music and incredibly good voice actors! ToE Executive #2: We should try to be unique ourselves like our good ol' buddies in America! ToE Executive #3: I know! Let's hire some dubbers who will give average voice-overs and will make some crap music! We can suggest that the DBZ theme will just be 'Dragonball Z' repeated over and over again! ToE Executive #1: BRILLIANT idea! Let's go rape some puppies to celebrate! You can obviously tell I really dislike ToE doing what they did. Although, 'dislike' would be an understatement.

as far as I can remember, there isn't a single movie that fits into the dbz timeline.
In the first one "The Dead Zone", Gohan defeats Garlic JR. This takes place before the series ad in this movie, krillan and god knows who else all meet gohan. So in the first episode they don't know who he is becuase...?
In movie.. 7, I think. (the one with all the androids) Trunks is there despite going home after the death of Cell.
There's more screwed up stuff but I really conot remember it all. It's been years since I read the list of plotholes.
