Who remembers way back in issue#54, with the Knuckles story "total Chaotix" ( were knuckles first meets the chaotix crew) by the Nigel Kitching and great artwork by Richard Elson, what did you think of this story? (i thought it was amazing, especially the artwork

you said it! nack's treason was also a great idea. I just loved the scee where he leads them into the metallix's main room and the proceeds to be double-crossed himself.

Heh heh that made me chuckle. ;D That story was great, wasn't it? It had good ol' Omni in, which is always good. And I loved Knuckles' reaction to the Metallix he thought was out of commission getting up: "Oh, flipping heck!" Genius.

Yeah I loved tha arc, 54 to 100 was definetlly STC at its finest. The Brotherhood where cool, STC really created a huge threat with them. One alone was hard enough to beat. ;D I liked the Chaotix game (not alot of people seemed to) it was fun and had the best bad ending.

That was a great story. I still remember the first time you see Team Chaotix is where Knuckles is talking to that giant TV face thing (can anyone remember what he was called?) Anyway, and there was suddenly a massive picture of the Chaotix leaping out to attack Knuckles, that was my most memerable moment of STC alongside the part when Super Sonic breaks free of his prision. And BTW, I also like Knuckles Chaotix so you are not alone Eta.

Great story, but nothing compared to the comic genius of later Chaotix Strips.

The Fundamental Four! That was NICE. I also enjoyed Total Chaotix, but my most memorable STC moment (Off-topic ) was the part of "Return of Chaotix" with the following caption... "Metallixes! Blotting out the sun!"

I always did think, however, that, "The Return of Chaotix" was a VASTLY inappropriate - and terribly mundane - title for the strip. Their presence seemed only required so that the Omni-Viewer could facilitate the time-travel part of the story. It was about the Metallixes, their plan, mucking with history, and a big-ass final battle. Even an equally-mundane title like "Return of the Brotherhood of Metallix" would have been more appropriate.
("Revenge of," maybe...?)

I agree, Chris, that the title was disappointing. Although your post has suddenly made me wonder whether it was written that way or whether it was a collection of stories with separate chapter titles collected under one title by the editor (as with "The Sonic Terminator"). Mind you, it must have been Deborah Tate at the helm then, so it seems unlikely.

Seeing as the Metallix brotherhood's continued existence was meant to be a surprise... perhaps that's why the irrelevant title was used. (I mean, really, how much involvement did they have in the story anyway?)

Yeah, it makes sense that Kitching probably wanted to keep the Metallix's as a surprise for the time being and at first the story really was just about the Return of Chaotix as the first few pages just feature them. I have to say, I only read this story for the first time last night and I loved it. Brilliant reading and it's gone right up there as one of my all time fave STC stories. Funny thing is that I wasn't even aware of this story cos I'd missed all those issues but I'd read the Brotherhood story and the story where the freedom fighters return to the miracle planet and find that mobiun in the metallix armour. Had no idea anything happened in between lol.

Man, it always catches me off guard when I sign up to a new messageboard and discover that someone on it knows who am I. ^^; btw, it ain't "wrote," it's "still writes." Just very held up at the minute.

What STC did with Chaotix was memorable. I liked how Nack was added to the Chaotix so he could be introduced into the universe (come on, he deserves publicity). STC's tie-ins with the games tended to create something a bit more special than the Archie ones as the story was completely rewritten and made STC's very own.
Chaotix's later appearances were also very good, especially Espio and Mighty's, with their competitive streak.

i liked the total chaotix story, it had some great artwork, (which I cut out , well I did get 4 copies for 2pence each!!) i think it was a bit dodgy how they made the viewer come out of a plot-hole, (i think, I didnt get the whole story) i think it was a bit soon though, it was the same issue as the death egg story/
