Can anyone remeber these. they were advertised all the time in STC back in the early 90's. Bascially it was an ordinary PC but as well as a floppy disk drive and CD rom there was a place where you could put mega drive games. I always wanted one but alas my parents never gave in to the constant whineing.

I remember these, back in the day. It was an Amstrad/MegaDrive hybrid, and cost a fair amount considering the specification must have been average at best.
Interesting idea, but a crazy gimmick if you ask me. Hehehehe.
How about the infamous ill-fated Sega consoles - Multi-Mega, anyone? I saw one on Ebay sell for £150 last summer.

Yeah but there was only one Sonic game on there wasn't there? But it was still cool in its own right. IT INTRODUCED METALLIX! And Amy I suppose. Or did she appear earlier?

That's right. On the Mega CD we had Sonic CD which introduced Metal Sonic and Amy, and on the 32X we had Knuckles Chaotix which introduced the Chaotix as a team, some of the members had appeared on earlier games.

Hm, if you mean Mighty, he appeared on SegaSonic Arcade. Also, Mighty is a recoloured Sonic sprite. he has all the same poses, and Sonic was found deep within Sonic 1 doing Mighty's wall climb sprite. Espio, Vector and Charmee I don't BELIEVE were seen in other games. Vector had been around awhile but wasn't used.

Yeah but there was only one Sonic game on there wasn't there? But it was still cool in its own right. IT INTRODUCED METALLIX! And Amy I suppose. Or did she appear earlier? Yep, just the one. But then the Mega-CD never had a massive list of titles, which is a shame. Badly developed and out before it's time, perhaps? Still, it's a nice underrated console collector's piece nowadays which is becoming increasingly rare (though that said, both me and my girlfriend have an original Mega-CD and megadrive each. Heh heh.) You're right Blizzard, Metallix and Amy featured for the first time in Sonic CD. I remember some interesting screenshots and promo art featuring in the News Zone in STC #9. It's funny, that the issue ended up costing me £230.95 - 95p for STC, £230 at Christmas a few months later for the Mega-CD, a purchase that was directly influenced by the news article. ;D Owch. -Rich
