Does anyone play the PS2 series of the .HACK// Games? I know there's Infection, Mutation, Outbreak and one more I can't remember the name of. I'm currently only a tenth of the way through Part 1, Infection and I can already say this game rocks. Heck, the instruction manual is flipping manga! It's a shame you can only move in 8 directions, but it kinda gives the game originality. It's really weird, playing a game about playing a game, as if that made any sense, but it's still an action packed romp. The battles are short and sweet, not long and tedious with you having to constantly look for an opening then dieing just as you're about to finish him off. The Flash Mail features are also pretty nice. And it has a forum Gotta love forums. So, any tips for a beginner? I'm level 11 and on my way to see Mia about Kite's Bracelet.

Infection Mutation Outbreak Quarantine
I've got Infection and Mutation so far. I'm just about to fight That huge ugly thing you see at the end of infection/beginning of mutation.
I haven't played them in about a month or so, but they are very good.

I brought Infection today and have been pleasantly surprised. The game is as addictive as hell and a very interesting concept. But the forums have kinda an unreal feel about them, where is all the terrible typos and trolls, spammers and flame wars? But I would it rather amusing that character sometimes use emoticons when they talk.

Anyway, I've just defeated the 1st boss which requires you to Data Drain it and now am heading off to witness a Heavy Axe defeat a monster. Does anyone know any good dungeon keywords to train up in quickly (I'm level 6). I went into the next story dungeon and got my ass handed back to me.

You shouldn't go to Indiscreet Glutenous Pilgrimage just yet. The best way to do things is to keep BlackRose on your team at all times and give Mistral half of all your medicenes. Then keep clicking random til you find an area that matches the lowest level in your party (It's a lot easier if it's a wood field, becuase you learn your fire attacks pretty early). Also, if you come accross a large monster in the field, do not data drain it (Unless it's one of those chests that comes alive), as this will ensure you less EXP.

Thanks a lot for the advice X. I did a bit of training and then retried the dungeon and kicked some serious digital monster ass. Now I am onto yet another dungeon where I can only take Kite in alone. That is hard, I have to train a bit.

That dungeon is impossible. Just go to some low-level training areas andget loads of crappy weapons from the chests, then sell them and use the money to buy as much restoratives as possible. Then just train train TRAIN.
