I liked it, but only because the guy from Ugly Betty was getting attacked by zombies.

Umbrella Chronicles seems to have stealthed into shops, I saw it in Woolies the other day. When did that happen?
Only review I've seen thus far is NGamer's: 79%.
Apparently if you shoot the whole place up with impunity you're likely to uncover hidden documents with character biographies and the like; and also there are several unlockable mini-missions that fill in various plotholes. I approve, in my Resi-fanboy way.

Well, it can't be any worse than the Paul Anderson [censored]e-fests, can it?
On another note, what's the betting that Capcom will end up announcing an Umbrella Chronicles 2 at some point? UC misses out a lot, so I'd say it's not beyond possibility.

APPROVE! Seven years after Raccoon City makes 2005. Apparently a busy year for Leon? Never mind, I just checked and 4 takes place in 2004. This shameful lack of Resi knowledge has forced me to commit suicide. And I still love you, Claire.

SA, I just read your post why you didn't like RE4 and you said you couldn't shoot bullets or arrows...
The former, you obviously cant, but you can shoot arrows down too. Otherwise they'd be even more damned annoying than they already are. Also, the Wii edition is far superior to the GC 'original' if you will. It gets tied in a little better with some extra plot in Separate Ways, and aiming is fantastic. (Which is also on some of the other versions too really)
The inability to not see behind you when shooting was a good idea. Being attacked from behind is rare anyway, but at least it makes you jump (Which well, is part of what RE is about). If you could see EVERYTHING going on, it'd lose some of the tension.
And your point about RE4 starting a new part of the story before the old one was properly finished yet I thought was a little unfair. Blame the game makers for not sorting say, UC sooner first, but not the actual game.
But hey, I've only played RE4 (so far, I bought UC for me and my dad for Christmas, as well as RE:R on GC) so I guess I'm a bt biased.

Besides, the old chapter of the story was properly closed. Raccoon City blew up.

Also, the Wii edition is far superior to the GC 'original' if you will. It gets tied in a little better with some extra plot in Separate Ways, and aiming is fantastic. (Which is also on some of the other versions too really) I've no inclination to buy the Wii version. I'm not forking out for RE4 twice, especially considering it didn't maintain my interest first time round. What tension? Sorry, but after the village area I thought all the tension died. Music kicks in when enemies are at least a mile away, which killed the tension for me. The camera angle had fantastic potential, but it's almost completely gone to waste. To me, once the game hit the castle it became essentially a corridor shooter. If I wanted that, I'd play Halo. Not stopping people from liking it, but it's not what I play RE games for. Besides, the old chapter of the story was properly closed. Raccoon City blew up. What about Code Veronica though? Blowing up Raccoon didn't stop Umbrella from being operational, did it? You can't make a game that promises bigger things to come, then just blind ignore it or shrug it off with a couple of lines in the next instalment before leading you on to the next shiny thing. That's [censored]ty storytelling, no matter which way you look at it. Granted, they rectified things by bringing some proper closure to Umbrella itself in UC, but it irritates me that it took so long for them to get their act together. Capcom really do get on my wick. It's like they're taking a "Hollywood" mentality with storytelling in the RE games now; get all these ideas for action sequences into the game, realise they forgot how to tell a consistent story without plotholes you could steer a convoy through, then release some kind of "director's cut" version to fill in the gaps. Bloody extortionists, the lot of 'em.

Isn't every game company extortionate at some point? That is true. It especially gets on my nerves with the RE games though, mostly because I've been a fan of them for years and I'm getting sick of them repeating the same old mistakes. I suppose by now I should be too used to it to care.

whaaaaaat
Although this is Resi, so the chances of her having faked her death/saved herself with some sort of virus are pretty high.

Brad is the only character that has appeared in more than one game and died, not counting the people who were dead in the first game but appeared in 0. Wesker and Ada both faked their deaths and it's pretty much a trademark of the series now.

Not for any more than a tenner, no.
Rebirth mode is a bit rubbish, and classic mode is not classic at all. While the addition of the 180 turn and assigning the knife to the L button ala Resi 4 is nice, the extreme drop in difficulty really takes a lot out of the game.
Still, I suppose it is kinda nice to be able to play it on the bus.

I'd say don't bother. It's mildly interesting if, like me, you never played the PS1/Saturn/PC original, but I got bored of it halfway through Jill's story because I've already played the GC version to death (pun only half-intended). I suppose if you've never played the original or the remake it's worth it, but otherwise...

I watched that video earlier today. Couldn't find any others and wonder if it actually lasts as long as the console versions...
Still, it's really something that simply does not work on an iPhone.

Recently stumbled across Resident Evil Archives for the Wii, which is essentially the GC REmake put on the Wii.
Worth the purchase?
