I liked it. Seemed genuine (as in I don't think he was trying to get one over on Yahtzee) and as a parody I found it fairly amusing.
As long as that's the only one he does I think it was fair play to be honest.

It was bound to happen at some point or another. Personally I found it a fair attempt, but the important factor was that I didn't find it funny at all. The guy was trying too hard to be cynical, yet it's pretty obvious he doesn't know how to be. Also, comment 30: Well, it made me chuckle. And that travelogue was a great read. But I'm probably biased seeing as Valve sit on the No#1 spot on my list of favorite video/computer/whatever the [censored] you want to call it if you want to get prissy game developers. * Wants Needs that crowbar replica to be placed somewhere in own room*

All that video did is make me want to listen to eighties pop music Maybe that's what it's meant to do! It's a conspiracy! A conspiracy I tell you!! AhemAlso I don't know if it's being brought up in the UK and my perception of accents, but I actually found this guy much harder to understand than Yatzee. He kind of sounds like he has a bit of a cold, whereas Yatzee voice comes across slightly clearer even though he does speak fast. There is usually only one or two points I need to hear again to understand them in Yatzee's vidoes, but with this guy I'd probably have to replay it several times or slow it down.

I didn't know FEAR had used the TimeShift gimmick. Are there any other shooters that've used it? I had this argument a few weeks back and could do with the fodder.

Anything with time stop and/or reverse? I know Prince of Persia, Blinx, etc, did it, but can't think of any other shooters.

TimeShift has been in development for years though, became vaporware for a while IIRC.

FEAR has been around for a loooong time too man, it was only after many remakes they finally got it out on PC back in 2000-something.
Either way, it's the same gimmick for both of them, which is a severely over-rated one at that.

At least FEAR didn't base its whole premise on the mechanic, though. The horror elements gave it some variety.

I didn't know the whole thing was an illusion. That kind of ruins the whole premise for me.

Oh dear. We all knew it'd happen, though. Y'anyways, he seems to sum it all up fairly well, I thought, if not reflecting on the monotonous nature it reveals later on in the game by having you repeat the first mission 9 times in new locations. Chah well.

Chah well. What new locations? It's the same cities, only now there's one less wall every time you go there. Still loved it, though.

New locations as in "this target will be standing over here instead of over there". No, nothing so creative as a unique city for each target.

I'm not a fan of Guitar Hero, so this review didn't hold my interest in terms of the actual game. Still made me laugh, though. ;D
