Also, Charles, mst of those were done by Mike Gallagher. The Knuckles "First Date" ones are ALL on Pender's head.

Yeah, that's him. I think it's #152 (a Pender's one).

Picked up #184 on a whim today and was mildly impressed. If they've gathered momentum recently to the extent many are claiming, I might just become a regular reader again.

I'm just echoing opinions in that this thread is making me become interested, though I'm thinking from starting right at the time a consistent plot starts. Any idea's where?

#160 or #175 seems to be the general consensus.

I was thinking a bit earlier then that. Similarly to how the narrative for STC started with Origin of Sonic.

150's a pretty good point, since Scourge becomes such a major character.
Actually, 146-149 on has a really good fight. Not much happens plotwise, but still an excellent fight.

Ian Flynn writes a fun Sonic, oh yes. IT MAKES A CHANGE FROM THE [censored] WE WERE USED TO IN STC. Also, the echidna's have given a spiritual name to "getting a stiffie". I SUGGESTED THAT THEY CALL IT "Jizmspasm". THEY WONT RETURN ANY OF MY CALLS NOW. I'D MAKE A MUCH BETTER EDITOR.

I'm not sure if there's a definite beginning to the overall narrative. I think that they were mostly fairly inconsequential humour stories up until the appearance of Uncle Chuck and Geoffery St. John in the run up to issue fifty, but it could be earlier than that.

Archie's the somewhat colloquial name given to the American Sonic the Hedgehog comic.

It started at around the same time as STC, but it has fewer issues in total. It was monthly rather than fortnightly, you see.
Of course, factoring in all of the companion series and special issues and you'd probably come to a greater numerical result.

The way its been done makes it similar to the bubble STC's Sonic got stuck in one issue... although I assume its their portrayal of the old grainy shields from the first game...

Why would it be dumb? The entire two issues paid hommage to the first game. It's a good read.

Because he believes he can outrun a ball he's stuck inside.
If it had shown him spinning around the inside of the shield, like those motorbike ball cages, THEN it would have been brilliant.
