Flogging a dead horse, much?
Hopefully this time they'll go the extra mile and chuck in the Master System and Saturn stuff, SegaSonic, Chaotix etc.

Wait, Sonic Bible Adventure? Awesome. Because there was no console called the Genesis. Silly Kotaku.

Lol whut?
Also how will this differ from Mega Collection? Whats the point in releasing yet another "back catalogue"? Also I am sure you can download most of the early games as an "arcade" version AFAIK on the 360? My bf was playing the Sonic 1 demo... and totally sucked at it! Ha ha!

Well technically, the 32X and Mega-CD were add-ons for Genesis/Megadrive, so it could be that Sega were holding off releasing Chaotix on a collection in order to put it on this so that they can squeeze as much money out of the 2D Sonic games as possible. It is the ULTIMATE Collection after all.

Amazon has it up on their site, so it's looking to be quite real.
Sega is going to have to do something new to justify this purchase. Maybe if the extras were on par with that of Sonic Jam, but other than that (assuming they don't include games previously uncollected) I can't see any outcome that would warrant a purchase.

Yes Robotnik is now Eggman and it was Earth all along. But it will always be Mega Drive... Depends on the gamelist if I buy this first day or wait for the sales. Damn you Sega and your owning of my money.

It is the ULTIMATE Collection after all. Ha, Chaotix! Sure, the version I played was *ahem* dodgy but still, it was still [censored]. Personally I wouldn't be too excited about a collection including Chaotix. Now, if they somehow managed to tag on Streets of Rage.... ;D Its a tenuous link though, AFAIK Sonic appeared as a poster in the background of the box art... Oh yes, and #Doctor Zaius, Doctor Zaius! Doctor Zaius, Doctor Zaius!#

Streets of Rage was in the Japanese Mega Collection. It'd be about time for them to get it outside of Japan on one of these - but I already have all three downloaded on the VC anyway, so meh.
An entire anthology of every pre DreamCast game could be pretty good. A wealth of great extras would be awesome too - chuck in some documentary thing about the Sonic 2 Beta/Development, throw in assets from the cancelled Saturn game - anything new is good.

For me, this would need every single pre-Adventure game. In all their forms. Both Sonic CD soundtracks, both Sonic 3D soundtracks, SegaSonic Arcade, Chaotix. And a [censored] load of extras.
I understand that Chaotix is [censored], but that's just my opinion. And many others' opinions. And it's right, because nobody actually enjoyed it. A few people might think they did, but they didn't.
But yeah, it should still be on the game.

I'll second the nods in favour of a compilation of all the pre-Adventure stuff. Perhaps with something like NiGHTS chucked in for good measure. I'd actually buy this if that were the case. Oh, and for the sake of being relevant to the irrelevant thread derail:
