I wish they'd do a 32X and Mega CD compilation. Since like, theyre harder to come by than the Mega Drive games.

Sonic CD was on Gems, and is over-rated anyways, and Chaotix is best left forgotten.
I'd also say that basing a 'compilation' solely around two games would be a bit [censored] and unlikely, but then again, they made Gems. So... yeah.
Either way, pretty much any Sonic game worth playing is now available on pretty much any modern console you wish to play it on. I think we can now rest easy.

Gems was the (or what seemed like) PC port. Which is [censored]. I dont think anyone was suggesting that the compilation be "based around" the 2 either.

A 32x/Mega CD compilation doesn't exactly leave a lot of room for anything else to be the 'main' titles...
Hell, you could stick the entire library of both systems onto a disc and still wouldn't have anything to go by.

Apart from its bizarre "Special Zone" stages, Sonic CD was brilliant, I thought. I just couldn't be arsed to go through each time zone, though.

There is a world outside of sonic you know. There is the small fact that ANY port of a mega drive game onto the CD makes it better solely because of the music and effects. Besides, unlike Mega Drive games, you cant get hold of 32x and Mega CD games that easily, so there would actually be a REASON to buy them other than having sonic 1 on every platform known to mankind. and for the record I like Chaotix.

Also: there are about 50 games in total between the two systems. And 90% of them are [censored]. I don't see why anyone would actually be bothered if they managed to catalogue the entire library of the 32x and Mega CD together, because there'd only be about half a dozen worth playing out of the entire batch.

While it's called "Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection" in America it's not just a Sonic compilation, is it? It's a Mega Drive/ Genesis collection. =) Maybe not a whole disc dedicated to 32x and CD games, howabout adding the few games that are worth it as bonus games to another collection (or even this one)? Sonic CD, Popful Mail, Virtua Racing Deluxe, Koribi and maybe even something like Night Trap for [censored]s and giggles. ;D

It would be to get a compilation of mega cd games though, anybody remember Road Avenger? I still have my mega cd and other than sonic cd, this is top on the list of games to play when its umpacked. There was also tomcat alley, pretty amusing game, I recall final fight being good.

I have fond memories of Road Avenger, also Time Gal, even if they were just Dragon's lair style "HIT BUTTON OR DIE" games.

I recall final fight being good. Final Fight CD was great, though it royally kicked my ass.
The Mega CD had one exclusive game worth buying and that was Sonic CD. There were other good games on the system- Sega Arcade Classics, Earthworm Jim Special Edition, Mortal Kombat, Final Fight CD- but they were simply just upgraded ports of already existing MegaDrive games. Mostly just with sound, except Earthworm Jim which was much better on the CD.
The 32X, well... It had Chaotix, one of the worst games ever. And a far less than satisfactory port of DOOM. The best game on the 32X was an almost arcade perfect Mortal Kombat II and the MegaDrive version wasn't exactly horriffically downgraded in the first place.

Chaotix really wasn't one of the worst games ever. Its not even one of the worst 2D Sonic games ever.

That's only because it has the worst GameGear games for competition.
I'd say it's a pretty good qualifier for "one of the worst games ever" though. I mean, the game was switched around and ripped apart and put back together so many times it becomes absurd and it wasn't even finished when they released it!
Honestly, Chaotix makes Sonic 06 look good.

I'm no fan of Chaotix, but despite its illogical level design and awkward team-based mechanics, to suggest it's anywhere approaching a list of worst games is just silly.
Incidentally, on the subject of MCD titles I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Terminator. Quite possibly the best film-to-game adaptation ever.

Theres a game called Stellar Assault on the 32x, which apparantly no-ones ever heard of which is excellent. Its a space shooter, but it doesnt suck, and has a very good 2 player mode.
I quite like Virtua RACING(!) too.

I've never played Chaotix, I'd like to give it a shot though. I never got Terminator either, I would like to give that a go to.

Apparently, this set has Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles, but no support for lock-on.
So no Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
[censored] off and die, Backbone. Just [censored] off and die. How [censored]ing lazy is that!? The collection's still got enough great stuff to make it an essential purchase, but the failure to include something that's already in the c**ting Mega Collections is just a slap in the face.

No lock on, huh? That would really annoy me if I didn't already have so many mega collections, but even so, it seems a bit silly. I'm not getting it myself because I have the streets on rage games on sonic gems, and got shining force 2 when it came onto the virtual console, and the rest of the games I would want I still have on the MD. But its still a pretty awesome compilation.

Its particularly funny how in the US this is called Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. If it doesnt have Sonic 3 and Knuckles, its not Sonic's Ultimate.
DLC for lock on. Also, there are gaps between the PS2/PSP Sega Mega Drive Collection and the 360/PS3 Ultimate Mega Drive Collection.
I'm still disappointed there isn't an achievement for getting past the barrel room in Carnival Night Zone.
