Am I right in thinking the last time we saw Sidewinder was in Robotnik Reigns Supreme? I'd like to know what happened to him...if he survived the destruction of the Special Zone and all that.
But more than that I really want to see Lightmare again, when she betrayed her father in the epic "Electromagnetic pulse" arc to me she was given a whole new dimension and I always hoped we'd see more of her and have her goodness played upon. Perhaps she joins the Freedom fighters. Maybe her father finds out about her betrayal and casts her out so in an effort to prove her evil targets Sonic or the chaotix. So much more could've been done with her in STC and I hope STC-O don't just forget about her. I don't mean to sound patronising but STC-O has seemed to continue down the "mature " path for adult readers as it knows it has a fanbase who has been following for a long time who are all relatively between 18-30 and as such write stories for that age group, so with that in mind I think the writers could write a braw (sorry wrote Scots on another thread, just stuck now) story about Lightmare and her dad.

Plenty of people want Sidewinder and his cronies to return, so perhaps the writers will oblige us and give us some plausible reason as to why he wasn't in the Special Zone when it dissolved.

As far as I know, their most recent appearance was in #130, when Robotnik became all powerful and turned them into stone when he overheard them plotting to steal his power. But of course, the whole episode allegedly didn't happen so they could have been pretty much anywhere since then.

Lightmare's revelation as Sidewinder's daughter was a good twist. However, it left an unanswered question or two. How did Sidewinder never find out that she was alive? Did he know he had a daughter at all? And why was Lightmare so fixed on speaking to Espio, while ignoring Vector, the team leader?

Because Espio was going to clobber her.

I don't really see there to be much reason for them to have not been in the Special Zone when Shadow wiped it out. As far as I remember, they never left it at any time other than for Biohazard to track Super.
If they did end up on Mobius, I can't really imagine Sidewinder wanting to get involved with the Family while they're practically taking over...
But meh to them anyway - they pretty much only existed to serve as a foil to Sonic while he was trapped in the Special Zone and to fuel the danger behind Super Sonic - with neither of those actually being an issue any more, they're kinda muted in purpose. But I guess that with Robotnik all crazy-go-nuts Sidewinder could prove useful again in the future as the arch-villain character.

I don't want Sidewinders gang to return, NOT for a LONG time, and if they return, for them to be as strong compared to the main characters as they were before, story tactics and stuff...

Well, the Sidewinder gang's last real appearance was when Bio-Hazard went to Mobius to abduct Super Sonic, and all of them were arrested at the end of that arc. So the question is 'Did they escape from prison between the time of their arrest and the Special Zone's destruction?' Who knows? Although, as a terrorist organization, the Sidewinder gang didn't seem all that dangerous (though apparently Lord Sidewinder had some involvement in an incident regarding a nuclear bomb).

They never really seemed that dangerous but with a little spice added from STC-O writers they could live up to their potential -i.e dangerous terrorists from the Special Zone. To be honest, I just wanna see Lightmare again cos she was a really interesting character and I feel she could bring a lot to the comic.

I want to see Lightmare with her veil off more often. You saw her face in Doomsday? She looked cute! (Hard to believe Sidewinder spawned her.) I can just picture her in a belly dancer/slave outfit like Leia's in Return Of The Jedi...
Ahem! Dirty fantasies aside, the Sidewinder gang were an interesting group of characters. Seeing them again would be appreciated, provided there's a believable explanation for their survival.

Emperor, I think I already got that vibe from Knuckles enough with his lines like "I just wanna see Lightmare again" and "I always hoped we'd see more of her "... Can we get off this Lightmare subject and a little more into the possibly more interesting and less creeping me out Mr Speckle, or Mr Fry, whatever he's calling himself and BioHazard...
I liked BioHazard the most of that lot, he looked amazing in the story where he was sent to nab S-Sonic, artists style wise, I liked Mr Fry's random encounter with Captain Plunder as well, and wonder, was Plunder in the special zone at the time? I don't think Plunder is a native, but the ghost guy (forgot his name obviously) vaguely recognised Mr Fry, I'd still wonder & speculate how easy it is to travel and get news to and fro between Mobius & the Special Zone, seems rumours and gossip does get through even when it seems like a few times a lifetime journey to make for characters like Sonic and Knuckles... :s meh

Don't worry bud, my interests in Lightmare are from a "would make a good story" point of view. Fictional characters don't do it for me...

Looking at Elson's prototype sketches of him, I get the feeling that originally they wanted Sidewinder to be a really big badguy.
Which I always wanted him to be anyway, hahaha.
Of all the characters that STC made, Sidewinder and his gang were my faves. Insidious mastermind aristocratic [censored], mindwarping freak in a hood, bespectacled gentlemen/common as muck powerhouse, and the poisonous and stupid Biohazard. Quality.

Lightmare's powers were probably the nastiest of the bunch. Making heroes face their fears is an impressive ability.
Nevertheless, is it likely that Sidewinder found out they were related?

Where'd you get a page without any speech bubbles? He bought it off Nigel Dobbyn himself at the Birmingham meet. Only briefly. After that incident, he (as Proctor Speckle) paddled back to shore in a crate of Plunder's favourite truffles. The twist of Lightmare being Sidewinder's daughter was a good one, I thought, but it's a pity that this angle was never explored.

Um...considering she's called him "Father" on more than one occasion. Yes. Surely that was only in the company of Sonic and the Chaotix? There was one occasion when she managed to say, "Fath-" before getting cut off. Other than that, Sidewinder just seemed to treat her a bit impersonally.

We should see more about Sidewinders psychic powers. He was going to call Super with the 'power of his mind'.....he must have some base for that. Or maybe he's just insane.
There should be a storyline with him trying to intentionally trying to drag Super Sonic out from Sonic, perhaps killing an innocent person, or something. Or threatening to kill Tails/hit him with an emerald blast in order to 'force' the Super change. Perhaps this could lead to the once again split between Super and Sonic I so desperatley hope for?
