I'm cautiously looking forward to this game- in that it sounds like it promises to much, and will inevitably disappoint me. I hadn't realized that it was only a week away here in the states, so my anticipation has gone up.
Then again, I'm not overly creative: I'll probably just exhaust all the synonyms for penis I can think of and then toss the game aside. Cuz im 4

Got it now. Seems excellent so far. Stylus controls are a bit flaky, but everything I've tried so far is in.

I demand a list of everything you've spawned.
That came out wrong.

The game hasn't impressed me quite so much to be honest. Once the novelty of being able to write what ever and see it appear runs out you begin to realize that there's not a huge amount variety of what these different words do. A large portion are just inanimate objects, or don't really have any purpose- so you'd never really have a conceivable reason to write such a word over something more useful.
Then again, I'm finding it hard to think of what to write.

it's out on friday wheeeeee
The question is, what will you summon first? I've been mulling it over and I think I'm gonna see if they put Shakespeare in there.

I'm probably gonna have a go at try to summon Chuck Norris against God but he probably won't be in there though. Ah well, I can still hope I guess.

A few interesting things are in there. Ceiling cat for instance. Not all of them have the desired or intended effect though. A harpoon isnt nearly as handy as it should be, for example.

I have just ordered it from Gameplay.co.uk. I got it on my mum's card so I owe her 24 quid for it. It looks awesome.

Introduced it to someone at school a few months ago, like when there was only the E3 vids knocking about from it. Now they won't stop saying "I'm going to get it on friday and make Shakespeare fight Charles Dickens" or "make Othello fight Hamlet" or "make long cat fight rick astley"
NEVER introduce something like scribblenauts to someone who thinks that knowledge on literature = smart and that 4chan is the best thing in the world.
I may get this when my EMA starts coming through, not sure how I'll justify it, needing £150 roughly for november though.

Graphically yes, I've seen better, even on the DS, but there's over 20,000 items drawn on it, so while I've no idea of the complexities of making graphical stuff, I imagine that many items would mean the graphics would take a hit so the game can be more playable.
Is anyone aware of any pre-order bonus, cos I know in America they got the rooster hat with it. Anything like that over here? Also amazed at how this has had less than no advertising. For something many are already calling "game of the year" I'm yet to see anything for it, even internal shop displays, nor a bit on the "new releases" leaflets and posters. It's out in just a couple of days, but it's had bugger all promotion, save for word of mouth. Maybe that'll be enough to sell a [censored]load, but you really think they'd try to encourage this more.

To be fair, yeah it looks awful.
Nams was saying to me in Derby a month or so ago, that it looks like it could be a flash game (or something to that extent). But it'd have a good amount of time of novelty item spawning, as well as the actual game.

Apparently when you type Icthyosaurus all you get is a Dolphin. And any Predatory Dinosaur is T. Rex. I want a [censored]ing Utahraptor.

I'm not saying the game looks bad graphically, I'm saying it looks like a bad game.
20,000 items and whatever sounds good until you think of what you're actually going to do with them. From actually looking at videos and that, this game appears to be nothing but a steaming gimmicky turd. It's all "wow, I can't believe they had that in there, lol!" and no actual game to speak of.
Basically, this game is Google Images but more expensive.

And then you figure out that every puzzle in the game can be solved with a combination of about ten things. :/

The merits don't amount to anything, incidentally.
There's a small amount of fun in acquiring the Gold Starites, until you realise that if something can be shot down, it can be shot down with 3 types of gun.
Even then you may not get that far, from wrestling with the controls, which are pap.

If you type in Sphinx you get a lion with a human face...
Also, all the cool kids who think that fact that "Manbearpig" being in it is amazing, don't seem to realise it's just a Minotaur. Though apparenlty the difference is that the "manbearpig" cowers away from Al Gore, if this is true, I like this.

Got it this morning. Things I Have Done So Far- Tried to spawn Shakespeare, been disappointed (it seems the only famous person is if you rickroll - Einstein gives you a generic scientist, all others I've tried have yielded nothing)
- Discovered that a priest with a nunchuk can beat up Ra with surprising ease
- Found that a liger can beat a tiger
- Been absolutely delighted that manticores and chimeras can be summoned
- Been even more delighted that Behemoth and Leviathan actually give you Behemoth and Leviathan rather than generic monsters
- Tried to get Queen Elizabeth I and ended up with a female zombie, presumed it was deliberate
- Found kappas, tanuki (as in the mythological version rather than raccoon dogs), red caps and hobgoblins (although "hobgoblin" gives you the same as "orc" so I guess that doesn't really count)
- Formed a crimefighting team of me on a stegosaurus, a scientist on a camel and God on a zebra
- Found that if you type "pine marten" you get a wolverine - okay, same group of animals, but they ain't that alike... (ferret, stoat and weasel all give you a basic mustelid model)
- Ridden a narwhal
- Stuck a badger to a queen's hand with some glue
- Done some levels
It does need a bit of fine-tuning, especially the controls, but it's an awful lot of fun.
