You do know that the Emeralds in both Fighters and Sonic R are wrong in terms of colours?
Fighters - Blue, Orange, Red, Purple, Yellow, Green, Violet? and Pink - Missing the Cyan and Grey Emerald.
R - Cyan, Orange, Green, Red, Blue, Grey, Yellow - Missing the Blue Emerald (Wierdly they get it sorted for the credits)
So yeah.
Beat that one.
Sig(h)ned King [censored].
So, the wait for remixes of the Sonic 4 soundtrack begins. Annoyingly, instruments used are [censored] again.

Purple. Purple instead of Blue.
I'm tired.

They were also pointed like they are now, then like the Sol Emeralds, then flat. The Chaos Emeralds weren't exactly consistent at that point =P

I'll just inject the random trivia. The colors of the emeralds are based off the RGB color scale.
Red, Green, Blue(Primary), Cyan(Blue+Green), Violet(Red+Blue), Yellow(Red+Green), and White(Red+Blue+Green)
---
Onto the actual episode itself.
In terms of music, I'm looking forward to it. Then again, I always like Sonic music and I'm a lot easier to please than most of the fanbase. I wouldn't mind chiptunes, though. I'm not a very retro-oriented person, so classic or modern alike are good for me.
Disappointing they have no planned third. Cliffhangers are annoying when there's no actual sequel planned.
...I notice they stole the music from Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing.
Well, hum. At least the graphics looks freaking awesome compared to the original!
But ah ha, no Wiiware. Time to get my XBL thing working, I suppose...

So who else was naughty and saw the entire leek of ep 2?

I've seen a good chunk. Weirdly I like that Tails has a use and I really like the buddyness between him and Sonic. Level design looks okish but the team up moves stop/interrupt the flow pretty much exactly like it did in Advance 3.
Music is still made with squealing cats though.

The musics gotten better then the first ep but still crap in some areas the boss fights are certainly new and interesting I liked that. My big complaint us just that it has like half the game with brand new zones and the last two are complete rehashes again, from the same game with the exact levels that lead in to each other from the first. With all this new original stuff they put in would it be really so difficult to come up with a last few new zones change it to a blimp or something oh and the chaos emeralds look silly huge now. Apart from that looks good so far just let's it's self down in some areas where they were showing so much creativity and just stopped at the last minuet .

So Ep 2 is out today and nobody gives a [censored]. Seems about right. Yeah, as Matt said a lot of people will probably buy the Xbox version, due to not many people on here owning a PS3, or a gaming PC. The whole Episode Metal is really only there to encourage owning both parts on one system. Seeing how the Xbox version isn't out until tomorrow, many people won't have it 'til tomorrow at the earliest. Still, you have a pretty decent spec PC, and are pretty much a solid PC gamer nowadays, and since you bought ep. 1 on PC IIRC, you tell us your thoughts.

Well, no, because he doesn't give a [censored]. Like most people. And launching the same day as Diablo 3 was a bit of a whoopsie.

That seals it, then. I won't lie, it's an inevitability I'll get this to experience it firsthand. But I'm waiting until it's on the half price sale episode one was on.

I played this today, I can see they did try to do different things with this episode. Up to the Fortress area.

Just played the demo. Literally two minutes of gameplay. Laughable.
It looks, plays and sounds like a fangame. Bad.

OK, I've done up to the metal sonic fight and died to some actual bull[censored] (he removes the floor you're standing on with no warning and there's no way to dodge it first time without being lucky or psychic and it instantly kills you) and I'm not sure if it's worth trying again. Maybe this turns into [censored]ing S3K in zone three, I don't know, but based on the first two zones this is easily the worst 2D Sonic game. I mean, it's still enjoyable to a degree because barrelling through 2D Sonic is always gratifying to a point, but there are parts of this game that seriously remind me of terrible DOS platformers from 1988.
Pros:
- The use of old Sonic riffs in the music is decent fanservice
Cons:
- The disgusting homogenised look - The boring special stages - The music otherwise - The first boss holy [censored] who programmed this mess

Been watching some gameplay videos of this. It's like they've taken every single complaint from the first Episode and deliberately done nothing to change it. Sky Fortress Act 1 recycles the worst part of the entire Mega Drive trilogy (Sky Chase) and somehow makes it worse. The level starts off with the game playing itself for about a minute. Act 2 starts of literally exactly the same as Wing Fortress. Cool. Alright. I don't see a problem with that, good job. Aesthetics are legitimately ugly. Sound is grating. The combo moves are shockingly poor game design - they so blatantly and absolutely jar with the flow and feel of the game that I am astounded that this was a design decision. That didn't happen in Sonic 3, as the designers were capable of applying a modicum of brainpower to the situation. "Hold on Trevor, wouldn't that really jar with the game flow?" "Yes it would Steve, I think it'd be far more satisfying if they maintained momentum when Tails grabbed Sonic, affording the player a level of control that will allow skilled players to make the best use of the technique." "Print that [censored]."
I know that I haven't been playing it. But using my perfectly-functioning brain I am able to deduce that this game looks balls. Glad this is the last episode.

I kind of like the Sky Fortress, well I've only done Act 1, but it was quite a challenge. Spinning the cannon ball back at the ship with the use of the Tornado spinning was kinda cool.

me too, in fact I found all of ep 2 superior in every way to ep 1, there were some fun moments and some fan service that made me incredibly happy as a long time fan but to each there own I guess, there are some really annoying moment though mostly in sky fortress 3 and the bosses... also the emeralds aren't easy to get are they <_<

Played up to Metal Sonic/White Park Boss.
Not 100% sure about it yet. Overall Im enjoying it more than Ep1, but other than the graphics, not the huge leap forward.
