The full title of the Sonic Adventure re-release for Gamecube and PC was Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut. Sorry for the confusion.

But this way Sega can say it's HD. Which will, as with all their HD re-releases, serve to highlight the problem that they may not actually know what HD means.

I dunno why you'd expect a game made in 4:3 to be available in Widescreen - especially since it's not a remake, or even a repackaging - it's just a pure, simple port.

As a rule, that's what ports are.

I have this on the PC... I have no issues with the PC version. I'm satisfied enough not to get this anyway. Plus I already completed it. Post I can't be bothered to download it when it comes.

besise what's the difference between the normal Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure director's cut??!! Other than the slightly smoother graphics, there are (I believe) 60 missions to complete in addition to the main game, as well as ports of some GameGear Sonic games that you have to unlock. There are some upgrades to the Chao raising, such as having Hero and Dark Chao, the Black Market (where you can buy rare coloured Chao), and if you have the Gamecube version, you can port Chao from Sonic Advance 1 and 2, and transfer them to Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Obviously, this function won't appear in the XBLA port. If Chao breeding is your thing, then it may be worth your while, but SA2:B did it better. SA was so easy, you could beat each character's stories in an hour or so (maybe a bit more for Sonic's), so it's only worth this remake if you're achievement hunting.

so it's only worth this remake if you're achievement hunting. Ding! Nah, my Dreamcast disc is shot. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Anyway I'm with Stu on this one. All they had to do was modify the camera. If they can do it for Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 then not doing it for Sonic Adventure is inexcusable.

Achievements (apparently). Easy, only annoying one will be Chao racing because Chao are [censored]s, were always [censored]s, and if you like them then you're a [censored] too. And raising them with no VMU/GBA/Doohickey will take forever.

I hated raising Chao in SA, since all the animals from the Badniks were instantly attracted to you, meaning you couldn't really pick what animals you wanted, as opposed to SA2, which just floated there allowing you to collect it if you want it. It was far too easy to accidently attack a Chao, but the worst part was the racing, which would pick random Chao to cheer on, rather than just yours. The opportunity to cheer was so brief, by the time you realize it's your Chao, rather than a rival, you've lost your chance.

Sorry, yunelyon, I know English isn't your first language (and let's be fair, you speak much better English than I do Italian) but I genuinely read that as "this smells of Ricicle". Anyhoo, there's talks again of this coming back - apparently Sega have renewed the Sonic Adventure trademark, as well as the ChuChu Rocket trademark and something else, although I can't remember what. Edit: Apparently, it's been confirmed to be coming to XBLA by 360 Gamer. Well ain't that a load of happy horse manure.

You have to be able to recognize the animals in the green bubbles and run like hell before you collect them, and sometimes run in a circle, picking your targets lightly, this is easiest with the birds because they fly, but it just takes practice. It's also important to know what levels are good for what kinds of animals. The races on SA1, though, were [censored], and will probaly be [censored] in that port. They were such bull[censored] to endure and the game godmodded the entire time. >_> The key to winning those races is to get a chao's stats all the way up to lvl 99. It's not as hard as it sounds, but it's tedious as hell.

It's even easier if you have a GBA and Sonic Advance. The game's pretty easy for the most part and you can rack up plenty of rings to spend on food to buff up your Chao's stats. Better still, the Chao in Sonic Advance don't age AT ALL! So by the time you get it to level 99 on everything and transfer them to Adventure, it'll still be an infant.

Yep, that's how I get my super chao, the only problem with the gameboy is since they don't age, they don't evolve, don't change stats or appearance and, well, half the fun is gone... If you enjoy it, that is. I enjoy raising them and observing their development, but for someone who only wants the emblems, just spend 2 or 3 hours on a GBA or giving the chao random animals, it'll get there eventually, especially if you know which animals do what, which raise stats the most and all that. Y'know I can easily post a shortcut to raising chao on SA2B and SADX, but that might derail the topic, and I'm trying not to do that as often. ;D But if someone really wants the emblems just PM me...
