Thing is, that would be exactly the same as everything else on the internet. True, but there's a reason most webcomics update regularly rather than in tranches. The USP of STC Online should be the quality of the scripts and art, not the wacky publication schedule. Oh, I'd be delighted if the comic updated more regularly. I just feel it would be rude and pompous of me to really suggest it, since this is entirely out of spare time and for no compensation at all (in fact, it's a net loss financially to boot, from what I've heard), so I'm naturally not too direct about such a desire. I don't think more content is necessarily needed, just a more pragmatic approach to the way the current content is published - parcelling the content out as it becomes ready rather than releasing everything at once.

Hmm... releasing a page at a time seems like not enough to me. I just think about some of the pages I come across on DA. Most of them are also irregular. Sure, it's nice to see a new page of shiny art but in the mean time I tend to forget about them! A whole story's worth has more oomph! ;D

Hmm, that is an idea. While it would probably dispose of the issue system, perhaps a 5-7 page story becoming the standard for release, rather than whenever all ~20 pages are ready?
I think it would also increase the spirit to make more; nothing makes an artist or writer feel more accomplished to see their work coming to fruition.
I'm not sure what the schedules of the team members are (as I've said before, I run on the opinion the bulk of them have work that will actually help pay the bills to do, and that must come before STCO), so I don't really want to try and suggest any particular release format. But thinking in terms of arcs, rather than issues, could possibly be an idea to consider.

But thinking in terms of arcs, rather than issues, could possibly be an idea to consider. On a related note, thinking "How many issues will this storyline require?" and "How many years will that take?" are very important questions. That is the sad down side to you guys not being a print comic.

One thing I can't easily forgive is bad grammar, text can be really easily edited, and editing the comics to fix the text is easy (I have done scanlations and translations of comics, and yes, is not that hard) So please try to give a look at that.

But thinking in terms of arcs, rather than issues, could possibly be an idea to consider. I think pretty much all of us have jobs, which obviously must come first. For instance, I work full time, I start another Uni course in December and I'm decorating my house. However, there's always time for STC, regardless of what I'm doing. In terms of Arcs, we're working towards some pretty big stories, some of which have been set in motion already. It then becomes a problem of sorting out the stories in the meantime and ensuring they all fit into the status-quo.

A complete overhaul of the staff, and a relaunch. You know what, just give it to me. I could go into detail here, staggering detail, but experience has shown me it's a waste of time as long as the tip-top staff remain tip-top. There's a massive, bitter blot of fail ruining the whole thing. The last issue was almost a complete write-off. I liked the Death Egg story, wish it had been one part. It was proper STC. You know, fun writing? And the rest of the comic filled me with apathy, because it was exactly the same as any other Deviantart piece of [censored] fancomic, with ugly [censored]ing fancharacters and WORDSWORDSWORDS and inflated self-importance and absolutely random [censored]ing characterisation. But, yes, no, either stop doing it or almost completely replace the staff. Without a hint of exaggeration or arrogance, I could fix it in two issues, if I had the chance. I would do so without malice, or rudeness, just efficiency and good decisions. Also, stop being [censored]s to the artists/writers, that's another [censored]ing good idea. You know who you are. wow, now that's spirit! Still, does these people have it? Although I wouldn't be as frank and nighter as harsh as Stu; I do hear a lot of bustling ideas and people who actually want to work, complaining, if anything, they can't get their chance to because there is something stuck somewhere in the process that makes it so that issues just don't come out or are slown down. So I don't think it's just a matter of "you can't make people do fast and strict work if you aren't even paying them", I guess it's more a.....how to say it....."bureaucratic?" problem. As Stu suggested I also think it could benefit to let more people in and handle such a complex and delicate matter. Especially those who have been around for a good wile or those who sincerely wish to help that maybe can give a refresh to the hole thing (also because of more energies, since directing this takes an undoubtedly hudge quantity of energy and patience. And it tires out after a wile) Dare I say it... how about running stories when they're done and collecting them into "issues" later? Say, for example, a Sonic story is ready to go. So up goes issue 2XX with just that story. A month later, Tails' story is done and is added to issue 2XX and so forth until there are four stories per issue with, naturally, Sonic's always being the first to be online- and if more than one story is ready to go, even better. It allows a more steady stream of stories to come to your followers and allows your writers and artists to get feedback that bit quicker. And it would probably encourage non-regulars to check back more frequently too neee.....I don't really know what to think about this...It would most definetly fasten things up but it would also be ground breaking. After this, it wouldn't be absolutely the same an it would also leed to more confusion plot/characters/story wise. also, it really wound't be the comic anymore, since you can't creat covers and special features for one strip alone every time and that would take for every story to be at leest a few pages longher to not make it feel too dull. Our distinction over the net is EXACTLY to publish work as an actual printed work. Though since I never read the strips in my youth (understandably, kind of stuck across the Atlantic), I naturally don't have that same nostalgic feeling others do for many of the originals' features. I wouldn't mind Sonic-related news in each issue though, games and such. same here. I got into the comic just like....3-4 years ago not sure can't remember) so I'm not over nostalgic about some aspects, but I do realise that beeing this a continuation thinks can't go TOO far away from the model, actually it could be cute if more ofter there were referencees to old lines, episodes or jokes in strips. This exactly for those old lovers that know every single episode at mind and for those who wqant to see a single line passing through STC and STCO. I also agree that among the extras features the latest news from the rest of the "sonic world" would be nice to find in every issue. Not only games, but interviews, or merchandising, or even "coming soon" news. I still remember that one of the first STC strips presented in exclusive infos about Sonic CD. Yeah. We're Sonic fans. Everyone knows we're miserable! HEY! WE'RE N..........ow, yeah...we are

Our distinction over the net is EXACTLY to publish work as an actual printed work. Then the comic will suffer for it, quite frankly. This isn't a printed work. The editors need to use their savvy to utilise the internet to its absolute fullest potential. Doing things exactly as a long out of print comic did over a decade ago isn't helpful to STC-O's continued growth and keeps things long in the past. Had STC survived, it would have doubtlessly evolved, as it did between issues 1 and 223. STC-O needs to evolve to remain fresh too.

You'd still collect them as issues, exactly as they are presented now, it's just the issues wouldn't go up as a block. Say #259 decides to go this route, then the cover and Control Zone, Sonic strip and Data Zone (for Sonic strip only) will go up one month. The next month (or so), one of the features like the Review Zone. Then the next month another strip goes up, e.g. Tails. and the Data Zone is updated as well. Then the next month another feature, then another strip, etc, until the last thing to go up is the 'Next issue' feature. All of this is the same issue, #259, has the same cover, and by the end it will look exactly the same as all other posted issues.

I really like this idea- it might also keep the forum going as well... we tend to vanish into the ether after a few weeks (excpet for a dedicated few stooges! ) and it would be nice if it was kept going, as I think this is a useful resource to have. I'd certainly use the message board a bit more if strips wee posted more regularly.

Maybe some loose ends can be field. I mean there are so many groups and then these groups are dropped for another group.
Plus I wrote an email years ago about each Zone getting it's own review and the history of each stage being explained. Same goes for characters and how they have changed from STC to STCO. They would be nice reads I know they're long to write and all but it be more content.

Maybe, before a comic is posted online, a few editors could give it a last look to make sure that any mistake that can be easily fixed, is fixed. After all is one thing to read a script, and a different one to read a comic. When I did scanlations, I found myself having to re-do the text more than once, not only because of “space†issues, but sometimes to improve a line or two. Also, if the character allows it, is a good idea to “cut the fatâ€, change text to make someone say the same thing with less words, without making the character sound like Tarzan.

Rouge needs to become a neutral character and not pure evil. She needs to join G.U.N. Also, Porker should be killed off.

He does look rather delicious... :B
Also, I just realised who you are Miru; I saw you make exactly the same suggestion on SSMB... and naaah, Porker ain't going nowhere. He's one of Knuckles' gang hanging out on the Floating Island (which IIRC is currently in stealth mode). I suppose that Gizoid might tenderise him a bit, but I doubt he'd be killed off.
Right, guys?
