Just before I discoverd STC online I came across the american Archie series of Sonic in my local comic store. I read them for a few issue but it buged..... the continuity just didnt seem right. not just because I was an ex-reader of STC but I didnt see how it fited into some of the games either.
anyway... my brain got working and I came up with a thory. Basically the two continuitys are just in paralle dimensions.
In each dimension sonic has formed differant friendships. Robotnik has found differant ways to be evil and everything else that is differant in the two comics.
Then I started thinking. wouldnt it be cool if there was an STC story that dealt with this theory.
The sonic from the STC world we all know and love came across himself from the archie series, who had traveled to the STC world with a few of his friends.
My brain got even further carried away (i have a very active imagination) and desided that when I get high up in the telivision business. I would make a Sonic cartoon based on the STC universe. usuing the key storys from the original comics and adding my own few storys in that diddnt affect the big arcs. this was going to be one of then.
But wouldnt it be cool if the folks at STC online could take that idea and do it themselves...... oh go on, theres such potential to be had in the idea.

It's a nice theory, there's also the Sonic anime Movie to consider, where Robotnik rules the Land of Darkness while Sonic and co live on the Land of the Sky above the surface of the planet. Trouble is I'm not sure how keen everyone here is on the Archie series I know I'm not, although it would be interesting to see how the different Sonic's react. If I remember correctly Sonic is Sally's boyfriend in the Archie series, whereas our Sonic doesn't seem to want to be tied down to anyone It might be a nice idea for a one-shot or something. Can't wait to see that Sonic series when you're the boss of your own company ;D

And that could be yet another of the universes. for every incarnation, every continuity of the Sonic story it can be just another altinate dimension.

Dude... the games HAVE their own Universe too, Archie and Fleetway. The 3 main Storylines (Archie, Fleetway, SegaSonic) are totally seperate, although Fleetway started out as SegaSonic.
Sonic X is more like the kind of think you're talking about; if it wasn't for the Tornado 2 it would essentially be SegaSonic with a couple of extra characters. It joins the 4 main Next-gen games (Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, Battle) together.
They're just different Universes. Personally, Fleetway is my favourite.

Thats exactly what im saying. I Fully understand that STC is its ow universe separate from SegaSonic. But it would be a universe that is closer to what happens in Sega sonic than the archie universe is.

and were all forgetting, the Archie Sonic was based on the SATAM sonic cartoon, which, apart from Sonic Tails and Robotnik, was almost nothing like the sonic games. Hence, its own 'universe' the Parallel universes idea is very interesting though... I didi a fan fic on something liek that... but its buried deep within my hard drive

i couldn't stand the archie series, it totally destroyed sonic. I do love segasonic but STC has always been my fave. it captured the characters perfectly and had a certain darkness that segasonic lacks

Thats cos Americans need action and fear whereas UK readers are more interested in decent character devellopment

well I haven't read them all, due to the fact that they made me sick, but sonic's girlfriend is sally form the cartoon, and somehow he got his parents de-roboticesed, I belive the word is. and not only him, tails has family in some other dimension, knuckles has family and a girlfriend, loads of echidna's, it stupid.

What anoyes me most about the archie series is that robots are not animals traped inside a metal shell but animals whose organs, tissue and everything has actually been turned into circuitry. So sonic cant just spin attack and free them.

I just checked Archie online, the sonic strips are black and white. Where's the colour where's the life and how can you tell the chaos emeralds apart. Its madness. Sonic is Blue! not dark black. Its all wrong I need medication to return to 'normal' sonic universe.

Im dont like the Archie-verse. Mostly coz all of the extra characters that arent actually from the games, like where in the games do you see Sally and Rotor? And that French dude?! I also dont like how young and helpless Tails was portrayed as, the first one I saw didnt have him in at all, and hes the second most major character! I collected some of the first few issues of STC by back issue and to be honest they werent as good when it first started, it seemed to be stuck between the sega universe and Archie n it didnt seem quite right. I think from #8 onwards it came into its own. I used to love the AoSTH cartoon, but its a bit surreal isnt it? I mean, what was the producer smoking when they wrote the one about a town of living sausages?! lol!

But equally where in the games do you see Poker, Jonney, Grimler, the Drakon Empire etc.... from STC. you dont. comics have to include their own characters as well or else they just wouldnt work
