Oooh, maybe the Face of Bo will actually say/do something this time around.
And damn, Anthony Head looks scary in one of those clips!

Despite what I've heard (mostly from people on this forum) I still don't think, in fact I'm CERTAIN now, that Anthony Head is not portraying the Master. I think he's just been possessed by some alien.

I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG. Also, rewatching The Christmas Invasion's trailer over and over has made me want a UNIT T-shirt reading "This Planet Is Armed. We Do Not Surrender". Which could serve as UNIT's motto if they hadn't already gone with "Any Threat, Any Location".

yep, saw it before I went out for pizza I have to say, for a first episode it was bit... ehh... But then I count Christmas invasion as the first episode of the new series anyways and that was brill, this just seemed like a bit of a filler episode... Don't get me wrong though, I thought Tennent and Billie were on top form, and they got some snappy dialogue in to boot. Bodyswap themed episodes are notorious for showing up people's acting skills (Tom Welling attempting to be British and evil in Smallville anyone?) but they pulled it off well I thought - I could certainly believe they were being inhabited by the same character I just thought the actual plotting of the episode itself was a wee bit lacklustre - setting up future plotlines with the face of bo this early seemed a bit odd I thought, and came across as too much of a copout - as was Cassandra conveniently bodyswapping to her death, the cat nun's fight scene, even the zombie hoard's infection spree, but there you go - can't win 'em all eh? Never mind, next week it's a "The doctor meets a historical figure and fights a classic sci-fi villain" type episode - should be cool

I can't believe I missed this episode. Probably won't be up for illegal download, either. Not that I plan on doing that ever in my entire life, no no no. <___<;;

Aliens, now Zombies, and next week werewolves... It's all getting a bit cliché don't you think?

Something I noticed thanks to watching the first couple of eps of series one last week. The area that leads into Intensive Care with the railings and ladders etc = the location of the Auton molten plastic dude from the first episode last year.
^^
I thought it was a decent enough start out for the series. The Face of Boe thing seems to me like the beginning of another Bad Wolf though. I wouldn't be surprised to see hints for the series finale again ep upon ep. Which, whilst a nice touch would be a bit lame two seasons in a row.

Just saw it. I liked it better than the Christmas one, and last year's premiere for that matter. Creepy aliens, awesome visuals, some great lines, a cool new planet. Tennant was less irritating than before, Piper and Wanamaker was on top form, the animal testing storyline was effective, the Sisters of Plenitude creepy, and the Face of Boe intriguing. It was boisterous and fast-paced. Downside, some of the death SFX felt abrupt, the "cure all" solution was preposterous and unsatisfying, and the Face of Boe's voice is terrible. Still, good fun. Aliens, now Zombies, and next week werewolves... It's all getting a bit cliché don't you think? It's called a theme. New Doctor, New Earth, new lifeforms, new life. I'm interested to see where this is going...

Piper ... was on top form Which isn't really saying much, since her bottom form is exactly the same, but with her eyes closed. --Ray

Don't see it myself. She's easily the break-out star of the series, and thoroughly deserves it. She was great in 'The Miller's Tale' and 'Much Ado About Nothing' as well.

Yeah, that's fair, I suppose.
I wonder how they're going to handle the reason for her leaving, this series.

I think I read in an old 'the Guardian' that she was written out halfway through the series, because she didn't want to become a one-character actor (not sure ofthe right term for it), or some such.
I'm might be mistaken, though.

And it was even better when Cassandra was possessing the Doctor. "I've got two hearts! I'm FOXEH!" Billie = terrible pop star, great actress. I'm going to miss Rose if she is written out.
