What a bizarre episode. Rather good though. The faceless people were creepy, and Ron Cook was great as Magpie. Plus, I'm gonna be wandering round saying "FEEEEEEEEEED MEEEEEEE!" at random for at least a week.
David Tennant + Teddy boy quiff = sheer terror.

David Tennant + Teddy boy quiff + Insane Rage = sheer terror. Seriously, if I had him yelling at me like that, there would be a brown puddle on the floor below me.

I for one liked the episode Espicially when Rose lost her face I was like Oh my God. The ending was good as well but what happened to Magpie? did he use Chaos control or something ;D
The way the Dr Trapped the Wire was great into a Video I also liked the Technobabble he told Rose to which she asked what he meant and he said go over it lol.
does anyone know why the Doctor gave the boy the scooter for? Its not even been Invented yet so wouldn't that mess up the Time stream???

WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT
Is a pretty accurate summary. What the hell was that?! The defeated her how? By plastic-molding the world's first video casette, then using a magic machine to reverse her polarity and trap her inside? o.O;;; And... gah! Don't get me started. I'm just... I'm not even going to go there. That was dreadful. This series so far <<<<<<<<< Last series.

@ Chris: yeah, I thought the police / people who rounded up the faceless people might have been working for Torchwood. It's very stupid. Is it just me or are the villains in this series completely unable to act? Maureen Lipman wasn't actually that bad. Especially when she was making orgasmic noises. On the whole, I still prefer the last series. Not that I think Tennant is a rubbish Doctor, mind. I liked his Morrissey look (I swear Doctor Who is getting gayer by the minute), and also the bit where Rose turns up with her face missing and the Doctor goes meshugah because it's become a personal quest.

The Wire woman reminded me so much of Big Bertha.. it's a machine in an arcade in Minehead, you have to chuck balls into her mouth (too easy, don't go there) to feed her. She goes "I'm hungry hungry!" "Feed me!" "I'm wasting away!" I sound insane, but it does exist! I'm making it my mission to find it for you lot. I almost lost my sanity trying to find it, stupid wikipedia didn't have an entry for it! Anyway. Take a look.

Meh, it was an ok episode but my least favorite of the series so far. It was a bit confusing how the Doctor beat The Wire, so basically he did some stuff and turned it into a videotape I guess? Judging by the next episode preview, it looks like we actually off Earth next week and visiting another planet. And those Slug alien things look very freaky.

That episode rocked the house.
Except for that "he's your dad!" scene at the end, which was a piece of monkey vomit in the toilet bowl of life.

Eh? It was the only vaguely worthwhile scene in there.

It'd have been worthwhile if the episode had shown that Eddie wasn't all bad and that it was worth him being in Tommy's life. Except for that entire episode, he was presented as a complete [censored] and that was before he was found out betraying his family & neighbours by having the Wire's victims taken away. After that, it didn't make any narrative sense to have the "he's still your dad" scene.

Well, that's because the script was nonsense and populated by flat stock characters. That scene was the only one that betrayed the merest whiff of hope that there might be some slight emotional depth behind the ear-bleeding cliches.

And that's why the scene was rubbish - you can't bring in a character for just the one episode, have them act one-dimensionally with no redeeming values, and then suddenly have a scene that acts like they were a multi-dimensional character with redeeming values. It's just stupid, it's like Rose is badgering Tommy to go make up with a remorseless, treacherous tyrannical git just to make herself feel good. And I doubt that was the impression they were going for.

I suppose I can agree that the natural ending to a story this appalling was that he should clump off shouting curse words and the kid would whoop and clap his hands.
But ending as it stood had the merest shred of credibility in terms of how characters might behave and act if they were... well, let's not go so far as real... but if they were in a show that aimed for some kind of character credibility... or 'Eastenders' maybe... The problem was the other 40 minutes.
(And it's not even like the dad was the only obnoxious character there.)

It goes without saying that the Cybermen episodes have pretty much set the standard for the rest of series two.
In my opinion anyway.

Finally got round to watching last Saturdays ep. It was watchable, but by far the weakest I've seen. Must try harder.

I managed to catch last week's episode a couple of days ago (a friend taped it) and I thought it was pretty cool. It wasn't perfect by any means, especially since it was one of those "Everybody lives!" episodes. You'd think having no vision, smell, taste and especially no ability to eat, drink or BREATHE would result in a mild case of death, wouldn't you? But no, all the faceless folk were alive and well at the end. No wait, that Magpie guy died. But just him, no one else. And yes, the "FEEEED MEEEE!!" line was a hoot! ;D

'School Reunion' was pretty good. Nice to see K-9 again.
The Cybermen episodes, while brilliant, don't really measure up to the older classics like 'Tomb of the Cybermen' and 'Silver Nemesis'.

IMO, and I know a lot of you are going to disagree with me for this, the two part episode with the Cybermen was the best episode so far.
