Yeah, but I can sort of see why people would like the Cybermen episodes. It's like why people go and watch Jurassic Park 3 or whatever. You basically know what you're going to get going in and you have this sort of theme park ride style experience with the spectacle of the monster going after the good guys and getting beaten and then you're done. I don't think it was that good, but it doesn't surprise or bother me that other people love it. Whereas this last one was just moronic to the point where it's vaguely offensive.

True, I like episodes of Doctor Who that make me bite my nails. The Cybermen one didn't turn out quite like I expected. For instance, I never would have predicted Jackie Tyler dying.

Plot holes: how come Rose didn't recognise the Cybermen when she's seen a Cyberman head in that Dalek episode? Predictions: I think Earth 2 Jackie might die - just a hunch I did! ^___^ Though to be fair, hers was an offscreen death. They also went to the trouble of mentioning the cyberman's head in part two which I mentioned earlier - so there you go

A) Wasn't expecting this week's to be a 2-parter B) It's easily the best telly I've ever seen. Ever.

The Possessed Uud trying to kill Rose and that Security guy
Somethings gonna emerge from that hole
The Forcefield is disappearing and the planet will be sucked into the black hole!!!

This episode was great much better than last weeks

Well, that certainly made up for last week. I kind of guessed the Ood were going to turn on the humans, but still...bloody hell. Poor Doctor! I hope he gets his Tardis back!

Excellent! Was really looking forward to this one, and it didn't disappoint. I feel sorry for any kids under 12 watching that -- it'll freak them right out. Good thing they're airing it in the middle of summer! (Or is it? I sometimes think summer nights are worse times to watch freaky horror films because you sleep with your windows open....) The Ood are an awesome design and concept, the black hole and pit concepts were wonderful, so was the passing of the galaxy, and the Doctor faced with the threat of settling down. A few quibbles: it was a bit exposition heavy, somewhere along the line Tennant and Piper's smugness has become more irritating than it is endearing, and that makes 5 (out of 5) cliffhangers with the heroes being surrounded by monsters approaching en masse. Get some new cliffhanger ideas, guys! Adding Satan and the Black Hole into the mix somewhat made up for it, though.

I think the danger is less that the Ood are surrounding Billie etc and more that the planet is zooming into the Black Hole. But, yeah, could have done without the Ood turn at the end of this episode - could have worked just as well with it continuing to build up, or for a turn right at the end, as opposed to cramming it in along with the other 2 danger scenarios. Though arguably, it helped to make it a fantastic cliffhanger.

I think it worked okay in the context of the episode because it was constructed that way, but someone in developing the season should have twigged that it was getting a bit repetitive; the Cybermen one, in fact, needed that sort of cliffhanger far less. Actually, I don't think this series is very good at cliffhangers at all. They're all just all-guns-blazing moments of climax and usually take a good minute or so of music swelling to show us, while the next episode usually resolves them pretty quickly. The only really good one was "Bad Wolf" because the Doctor immediately had momentum going into the next episode having sworn to rescue Rose -- as opposed to being merely reactive, pinned down by the monster du jour.

ME LIKEY EPISODE! Whole thing reminded me of Doom for some reason. Anything satanic is cool with me. Whole episode reeked of brilliance. Let's hope it concludes as well as it starts.

Very creepy. I wasn't expecting to see the corpse of the woman who got sucked out into space, that's quite morbid for seven o clock tea time. I wonder if it is really Satan who has possessed the Ood, or just some powerful alien. Lets hope next week is just as gOod. (Yes that was a very bad pun I know).

I think it's safe to say it's an alien with some kind of telekinetic and psychic powers, as I doubt the show would delve into religion. The episode was a belter though. Very Red Dwarf/Aliens. ;D Anyone notice the blatant Firefly tribute music?

It was a somewhat creepy episode. And another 2 parter so soon! The whole episode did seem to be aiming at Satan rising up to kill them all. I got that pretty quickly. I do wonder what's going to happen next, as I really have no idea as to what the Doctor is going to do now. It would be interesting to see him diss the Devil (like he did with those aliens in The Christmas Invasion), and prove that the Devil isn't so great. From the "it's playing on our fears" line from the next episode preview that might give a clue as to how they plan to overcome the beast. I wonder what the devil beast is going to look like? My bets are that it will be something like this: Gahh! Look at it's evil eyes! You can tell that it wants your soul!Or even worse this: Find T3h C0mput3r R00m!

Wowzers - wasn't all that desperate to see this episode, being as it was more your traditional sci-fi fare, but I enjoyed it muchly - it's all gone a bit event horizon isn't it? Also, did anyone else spot the sly eastenders' refference directed at 'er out of eastenders? Very much looking forward to next week's now ;D

Its been a while since I've nearly [censored] myself while watching a Doc Who.
The whole thing with "The Devil" was brilliant and hell yes to the Firefly tribute ;D clocked that right away. And I reckon your right Chris G it does go a bit Event Horizon on out asses. That Tobi guy reminded of Sam Niel from tht film.
