I enjoyed it too. Easily the best story of the year; lots of creepiness, the Doctor testing his faith, and Rose getting to take charge. Despite being littered with sci-fi movie cliches, the action sequences came together beautifully; and the sequences with the Beast were sublime.
I don't know the physics of space, but I assumed that it would take some time for the atmosphere to be taken out of the ship. As long as they didn't try and breathe in, they'd probably be okay.

Depends on the size of the hole, really. it was pretty large, but it *was* closed again. The main reason they didn't shrivel-up was because the atmosphere was being replaced as well.
Amazing episode. Best of both series, if I'm so bold as to claim it.

Woo! Enjoyed that very muchly, as everyone has been saying, the scenes with the beast was some impressive piece of visuals - if I was a kid watching that I'd have cacked mysefl! Nobody seems to have mentioned the beast's reference to Rose "dying in battle" yet - considering how they made reference to it at the end, it's probably somthing that hints at either Billie's eventual departre from the show, or a hint at this season's cliffhanger ending Couldn't really make much sense of the trailer for next week, other than the fact that Peter Kay and Jackie are involved - I'm not entirely sure why I think this, but I have the feeling we might be seeing more of the Tardis next episode... hmmm....

That little sneak peek Trailer was that the Doctors true form we see? I mean that guy opened the TARDIS doors and there was an Alien beast so perhaps its the Doctors true form.... As for the rest of the trailer Im assuming its going to be a hunt for The Doctor and Rose and the TARDIS. I now relise where I saw that guy he is Peter Kay from Phoenix nights lol and Jackie is back ......YAY?

This was a brilliant episode!!!!
The Doctor kicks Satan's ass. It can't get any cooler than that ;D
That scene when they're running from the Uud in the vents reminds me of Aliens a bit too much. Plus the Event Horizon reffereneces were strong once again.
One thing i'm looking forward too is how the devil said that Rose was going to die in battle. I'm assuming this will be in the season finale or something.

But aren't these 'Rose gets all mopey' moments getting way too old now? Yup, along with the "Doctor gives a stirring speech about how brilliant, amazing and fantastic the human race is along with overuse of the words 'brilliant', 'amazing' and 'fantastic'". Other than that, excellent episode. I think my favourite bit was Zachary reading out all the Oods' names at the end.

Yup, along with the "Doctor gives a stirring speech about how brilliant, amazing and fantastic the human race is along with overuse of the words 'brilliant', 'amazing' and 'fantastic'". He said brilliant like a thousand times in the last episode. Have you seen the Simpsons when it has Ringo Starr as the guest voice? And it shows Marge going to an art class, and her teacher is impressed by literally everything, Tennant is reminding me of him so much. Fascinated by simple things.

Well, no one died from looking at the Beast, so hurrah, I suppose. I was a bit disappointed that you didn't see the Ood actually being shot, just the guy shooting. But yeah, that was definitely a kick-ass 'sode. Oooh, the Devil said Rose would die in battle, I don't think he was lying, hehehehehe.... *eagerly awaits the season finale*

"I don't want to be typecast as a time travelling doctor in a police box." Actually, teh Chris didn't say that. He was misquoted. I only wish I could find the interview. My take on the Torchwood thing is, you know how Bad Wolf was everywhere in the last series and it culminated in Rose being the Bad Wolf? I think a similar thing will happen with Torchwood, ie the Doctor is going to have a MAJOR run in with them. I hope so, anyhow.

Jackie is Rose's mum she was the one in the trailer empying the Washing machine I KNOW HER. *ahem* Well, that was a bit... silly. Technobabble, solving problems by rapid typing (I HATE THAT), a bizzare Satan plot, loads of pathetic monologuing about how wonderful Rose is...

Well I certainly did. What I meant was that I was trying to solve the significance of the term within Doctor Who.

I'm kind of disappointed by the way we haven't seen a "proper" Alien Planet as of yet - New Earth was just that, New Earth, and this planet was more of a funny asteroid than anything, no culture of it's own or interesting scenery.
I think New Earth proved they could pull off some convincing CGI. I wish they'd do a proper alien planet, but it looks like they haven't, so we have to wait until the 3rd series for one.
