Take Two bought the license. Take Two publishes GTA.
Don't think there's any danger there.
Platinum have said they'd be interested in picking up Vigil/Darksiders (on the cheap) - so they may end up with it if they actually put a bid in. I'd be pretty happy with that outcome.

Yeah. I was trying to be funny. Kinda hope that Take 2 stays with Yukes.
Then again, that is an impressive streak of dead companies.
Heard about Platinum/Darksiders. Hoping for it.
Also, quite funny to find that Sega spent to most money (it seems) in the auction for Relic.

Then again, that is an impressive streak of dead companies. In fairness, the majority of them were [censored]houses of shovelware. The WWF/WWE/WWhatever brand isn't exactly synonymous with quality gaming.

I personally really liked WWF Attitude, but literally no one else in the entire world does.

Come here you! Loved Attitude back in the day. Then Smackdown and Wrestlemania 2000 came along. Also people are getting themselves all in a tizzy for Wind Waker HD. I can't understand why. I mean I loved Wind Waker. But people are seriously stroking themselves on it. Like its apparently the saviour of the Wii U and all this. And I thought people didn't like Wind Waker because it didn't look like Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask and looked like a living cartoon.

And I thought people didn't like Wind Waker because it didn't look like Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask and looked like a living cartoon. I think that was the initial reaction, but once the game came out, that opinion died down. I know a lot of people who prefer it to Ocarina. I don't think it'll make me buy a Wii U just yet though (unless they decide to add in the dungeons that had to be cut out of the Gamecube release - unlikely though).

There are three ways this could go. 1) They release Wind Waker as is but with a graphical touch-up. I sold my copy years ago like a numpty, and since I was going to buy a Wii U anyway this is a no-brainer. 2) They release it with all of the above and an orchestral soundtrack. I buy it and sit on Dragon Roost Island for hours, masturbating. 3) They release it with all of the above and make it a director's cut, giving us the extra two dungeons and perhaps more goodies. People have a legitimate reason to get excited (spoilers: it won't be this one).
Either way, it works for me, and I'm looking forward to playing it again. I'm more interested in the new Zelda, though. Apparently they're placing the emphasis back on exploration, which can only ever be a good thing. There's also the new Mario platformer being made by the Galaxy team, which I'm even more interested in.

They've already said they're "improving the gameplay" as well as the graphics, and given how pissed off Miyamoto was with releasing WW with that content cut (something he basically never does, but he must have felt pressured into it that time), it wouldn't surprise me to see it returned.
Also, despite the whiny Internet people getting up in arms about the 'cartoon look' of WW before its release, I think basically everyone shut the [censored] up about that after it came out because it's easily one of the prettiest games ever made. The idea of taking that and making it even prettier just warms my cockles all over.
I'd also not be surprised to see an orchestral soundtrack, either.
Basically, WindWaker is one of the greatest games of all time, and making it greater is pretty cool whatever way you cut it. If they fix what few problems it had (that missing content meaning the awful Triforce quest being put in its place basically being the single biggest issue), I genuinely think it'd be enough to finally knock that crown off OOT's noggin once and for all. I already prefer it to OOT anyway, but that last third of the game is really dragged down by the Triforce quest.

I pretty much agree with that assessment. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Wind Waker. It was the second Zelda game I ever played and I just remember being awestruck by the graphics, and the sense of wonder they lent the world. For me, it's up there with the best in terms of graphics.
We'll wait and see, but if they do decide to go back and stick in the extra dungeons, I'll be elated. Thinking on it, they probably will end up updating the sound, at least. The original tracks sound great, don't get me wrong, but there's a noticeable difference between the quality in them and, say, Skyward Sword. I still prefer the songs in the Wind Waker though. Flying can't hold a candle to sailing.

LttP was my first Zelda game that I bought on a whim off the market one day to see what it was all about. I enjoyed it, picked up LA which was vastly different. OoT was the first big Zelda game I bought on release (well, had bought for Christmas) and enjoyed the hell out of that game. Then Majora which was equally enjoyable.
I write that to set context. WW was the first game that had the same elements of the earlier games but changed and moved around (I'm thinking the Deku tree), and that always made the game a little off for me. I wasn't ready or used to the universe reusing the same elements in a different capacity and I didn't know anything about the mixed timeline when it first came out and it just never sat right with me. OoT is the default universe for me, and anything that strays from that feels... uncomfortable.
I've played it again a couple of years ago and thought it was alright, but there is one gripe that remains.
Travelling. Christ all mighty, all that sailing when I just wanted to get to one place, if they re-release I hope they program a way to make the sailing faster without having to warp, change the wind direction everytime I want to change from going up to down (for example).

People that complain about the sailing didn't play the game properly. Really, really early on you get songs that basically take you to where you need to go or leave you only needing to travel by boat for a minute or so. The way to "make the sailing faster" is already in the game.

My only real issue with the sailing is the playing the songs to change the wind direction. You're going to be changing it fairly often, and it gets a bit tiresome seeing the same song played twice every time you do. A lot of people complained about the sailing itself, but I thought it added to the adventure. Seeing a silhouetted island off on the horizon loom up before you with no loading times or interruptions was ace, and wouldn't have had the same feel if you were just able to scoot there in seconds.

one of the things I remember while playing WW was that "I wish I could row the boat." Can't remember why but I'm sure there was a reason why I wanted that.

There are travelling songs in it and they didn't put you that close to leave you to only being a minute or so. Or when you are trawling around looking for the collectables and it's a slow crawl across the sea for what feels like ages. Don't try and tell me that I'm not playing a game properly.

So apparently not only is Rayman Legends no longer a Wii U exclusive, but it's also being delayed until September to release with the other versions. Wow, Nintendo. I mean, wow. You have to [censored] up pretty bad to not only lose an exclusive, but also any kind of release date advantage. God alone knows how the game's supposed to work on the other consoles, though, given that the Gamepad's so integral to the game. UPDATE: "This industry is really that [censored]ty", says ex-Ubisoft developer.I've got nothing but sympathy for those poor buggers who worked to get the game finished on time, only to be told they weren't allowed to release it. Regardless of whether it's Ubisoft's or Nintendo's fault, it's a really, REALLY bone-headed decision to delay the game's release until a competitive time where not only is Christmas on the way, but Grand Theft Auto V's going to be wanting people's money as well. The only possible outcome I can see from this that this game's going to get destroyed at retail. It's no wonder I'm getting more and more jaded about gaming these days when the suits make more and more monumental cock-ups like this. I know it's easy for a disgruntled old grouch like myself to say gaming was better back in the day, but I honestly think it's objectively true.

Shameful mishandling of what should be a great game. Nintendo should just put a wad of cash on the table and tell Ubisoft they'll partner with them to get it published.
Unless Ubisoft fished for them to do that and Nintendo told them to bugger off. Which wouldn't surprise me, really.
It's just a shallow interpretation of the numbers. 4 million Wii Us vs 200million 360/PS3s. So, obviously, they'll sell bucketloads if they just wait and multiplatform it all at once? Right?
Well, no. Rayman Origins- excellent game though it is - never even came remotely close to that 4 million sales of the Wii U, so there's little reason that Origins would somehow do magnificently better by being on all available consoles at once. The sad thing is, if they'd actually released the game this month, they'd have had a free ticket given the dearth of otherwise available Wii U games and could probably have reached a significantly larger quantity of that install base than they will when they're up against titles like WindWaker HD, Pokemon and GTA V for sales across the board.
Stupid, stupid decision.

Oh, right. I thought they were just releasing it for the 360 and PS3 as a timed exclusive sort of deal, which is why I couldn't understand why people were getting so worked up. Yeah, that was stupid, Ubisoft.

Question - how many people complaining about Rayman Legends going multiformat actually have a Wii U? I know for a fact that a number of people were effectively looking to use it as their launch title. Heck, I was (and still am, most likely) going to do the same. It's not really a problem that affects me directly, but if I'd decided that I was going to get it in February then they tugged the rug out from under me at the last minute like this, and then announced that I didn't need to get a Wii U to play it anyway, I'd be more than a little miffed. If it were just going multiplatform I'd think people were overreacting again. But the fact that it's being delayed and going multiplatform is like two kicks in the teeth for those who picked up a Wii U over the Christmas period and were looking to get this game. That said, it is good that more people will get to play it. I'm not particularly sore about it personally, but it does strike me as a poor show of faith.

As Shay put it, it's not so much the fact that the game's multiformat (hell, the first game was multiformat, and you won't hear me arguing with the idea of it being available to as many people as possible); it's the absolute bull[censored] of delaying a completed game until September, pretty much rendering the effort of the developers null and void.
Plus as Alex pointed out it's just such a monumentally bad business decision. Not giving the game the chance to build up any kind of sales with any established userbase, instead waiting to release it at a time when many big hitters are going to be released which most gamers will likely be much more interested in, is committing retail suicide. It's like Ubisoft are actively sabotaging any chance of the game succeeding.

Rayman did not influence my decision on whether or not to get a Wii U, but it was definitely on my 'must-have' list, both when it was a launch title and again when it was put into this dead-zone of early 2013. It's disappointing to not only see it delayed again, but also to know that the game is sitting around finished for the platform Ubisoft announced it for originally and will be basically a full year late just because it's going multiplatform. It doesn't make much sense from a business perspective, it doesn't make much sense from a customer service perspective and it doesn't make much sense from a consumer's perspective waiting around for the Wii U to actually have any games released for it. I couldn't care less that it's going to the 360 and PS3 - if I wanted it on those platforms, I'd get it on those platforms. What I want is the game that was advertised as a Wii U launch title actually coming out for the Wii U when the game is ready to. Which it is. I do feel it should be up to Nintendo now to sort this out. It's more important for them than Ubisoft that the Wii U gets this game now. The loss of this title this month, let alone as an exclusive, is a hugely damaging blow to the Wii U just because it's literally the only thing coming out for it.

I recommend you have a fast PC, ideally one designed for gaming. It's quite demanding processor wise. At any rate, from playing the demo (in spite of the slowdown) it feels very much like a solid platformer. Would certainly buy myself if I had a better computer.
