Am I the only one who is looking at this situation, seeing everyone moaning and arguing about who owns which characters and how Archie "stole" them... and rolling on the floor laughing like mad? I am completely on Spydaman's side. I mean has anyone actually contacted any of the old StC contributors (Kitching, Stringer, Elson, Egmont....) and asked them for their opinions on the whole thing? Then I see people running around saying "OMG, Archie are ripping StC!" Then I look back over the years and remember StC making references/parodies/rip-offs from numerous things in the past like Marvel, 2000AD, Charles [censored]ens and Monty Python; and wonder why this situation is any different?! I personally love the fact that Dub has gone out of his way to make so many StC references to the Archie comic, I think of it as a great oppertunity to help increase the awareness of our old favourate. EDIT: StCer: Charles [censored]ens? WAW: As in "A Christmas Carol." StCer: oh.

Ste: Steady on with the inflammatory tautologies there. (Nobody likes tautology. ) WAW: One creator doesn't care, one creator is miffed, and another would be an unprintable-word-on-this-board degree of livid if it happened to him.

Thank God I bought one of these issues off Westfield - I bought it after I heard Dub was drawing them. Personally I see this as quite cool, but I have yet to read this entire topic yet.

It is his first issue, give the guy a break . His style's quite cartoony but he is a really good artist compared to a lot of what you find out there. The problem a lot of people have when viewing art is that they look too much at how pretty the pictures are and ignore things like how good a story teller they are, how detailed their work is, how clear it is. Good way to tell a good comic book artist: take away the speech bubbles and if you can still understand what's going on, that's a good sign. And yeah, that was shortfuse lol. I reckon if Tekno hadn't spoke, this whole topic probably wouldn't be here cos most people probably wouldn't have even noticed.

ok, fair enough, I don't think any of the archie art work is that good though. or the stories themselves, but i'm trying to give it more of a chance and will get round to re-reading them.

The first Fifty or so Archie Issues where pretty good IMO, the problem I think lies in that Archie keeps raising the bar constantly so that theres nowhere left to go except recycled Smeg! We've got Sonic/Knuckles/Tails going into different Super modes, Time travel, interdimensional travel, crossovers -_-', Robotnik coming up with the same plans except in a new form, and millions of uninteresting fan characters who do nothing except loose the plot even more. What I think they should have perhaps tried is do Comic versions of the different series and games as seperate continuities, provideing the writers with fresh material and not get bogged down in continuity.....

Is it just me, or do Pyjamas "bunches" sorta stick out in Archie? A little more than usual?

That's just Dub's style ;D. Having said that, a lot of other Archie art is nothing compared to the works of Corona and Kitching. Boo ya.
