Yeah, I hate it when people I don't like are allowed to like things I do

I've never felt that with the comics - on the contrary, I've happily introduced people to the wonder that is Wallace Wells. I meant more like, people who would have turned their noses up at Pilgrim in comic form, but as soon as it arrives on the big screen, they've always been the Biggest Fan.

Lots of people respond to different mediums differently. I often lament that my mates are happy to watch any films based of graphic novels (that aren't cartoon themselves) and leave it at that, but dislike people who watch films without reading books they were based on. It's a sad state of affairs when people's subconscious prejudices prevent them from experiencing stuff they would otherwise like, but it's inevitable nonetheless. I just try to focus on the money going to the Mal.

Graphic novels!? Just call them comic books.

Comics = Issues, printed on paper without a hard- or paperback cover. Graphic novels = Bound 'book form' comics.
I don't think really rate either higher, but that's the distinction I've always understood. I don't think that all comics should be labelled Graphic novels, but I don't think using the latter term is snobbish or pretentious, either. Both camps are being sticks in the mud.

I refuse to buy her stuff purely because she's hitting a good writer/artist. I do not believe talent is an STI.

I don't think you understand that [censored]-all money means no money, that's zero pounds and zero pence.

[censored]-all money never means no money in my book. Things I've done to raise cash:
Typical odd jobs for neighbours Sold my lunch to school kids Dishonest things involving the coins in busker's hats.
But anyway, sure. Poor you. Is there a limited stock?

Well, it seems that GOSH! has got 75 copies of the Scott Pilgrim Colour Special in stock. Or may have.
If anyone's heading there, would they mind grabbing a copy for me? I'll Paypal for the comic and postage etc., naturally.

I might be in the next couple of weeks, I'll let you know if that's the case. In other news! What have we here? Mmm, nachos. They were seriously excellent. Casa Loma is seriously even weirder when you get up close. God knows what the architect was thinking. Witness the stairs where Lucas Lee met his untimely demise! Witness also the fact that they leave gaps in the railings so you can't actually skateboard all the way down. Spoilsports. There's my friend Phil, trying to keep the terror in check. The inside is deliberately laid out to confuse and disorientate you, and they really do have signs saying "Don't just stand there, buy something!" No idea what was going on with my camera here. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to go in. And here I am being beguiled. I went in to get a copy of Lost at Sea as a Christmas present for a friend, and the guy said, "You know you want a Scott Pilgrim poster." "You're quite right," I replied. Then like a week later I went back and got a Kim t-shirt. Excellent store, if not laid out in a manner that makes sense to the human mind. We also went to the Toronto Reference Library and saw a certain piece of corporate art just right for defending yourself against crazy Chinese-Canadian teenagers with red highlights, but I'd run out of film by that point. Also, we had a look in Sonic Boom (the shop where Scott breaks up with Knives, just across the road from Lee's) but I didn't take a photo in there. What do you take me for, some kind of nerd?

MAAAN I wished I had a few hundred pounds spare to go to F__ked Up's halloween weekend they put on at Sneaky Dee's this year.
I'd love to go to Toronto. And not just because of Pilgrim!
