Couldn't find a thread on it so making one here. Just started watching it. For those who don't know, it's Joss Whedon's return to television and it stars Eliza Dushku, who was Faith in Buffy and Angel.
So far so good in my opinion. Great story, and reminds me a little of Dark Angel for some reason, which considering I loved that show, isn't a bad thing.
Anyone else began watching it?

I've meaning to start watching this soon but I think I might wait till Battlestar Galactica finishes its run. From what I've heard though not many people like Joss Wheadon's latest attempt at televison.

I am watching it, looking forward to watching tonight's episode. Loving it very much, the concept of having the same actress play multiple roles around a core role is awesome (unless they wear it to death ). And yay, Joss is back on tv, but more importantly, he's back on Fox. Something he said he'd never ever do, probably the new management lured him back (maybe with an appology for the former team's abysmal actions regarding Firefly). But yes, Eliza Dushku is good, she's dona load of great stuff (although a few OTT roles too), specifically True Lies and Tru Calling. Can't wait for ep 5, when them to start moving away from the Active Of The Week formulae, which to be honest isn't too bad yet, but I am tiring of it. The last episode was boring for me. I thought Dollhouse was a cool concept, but what concerns me is Character Building, every episode the personality is wiped to slate, and then next episode a new one is installed. No reall growth (despite the times when previous conciousnesses crossed over into the present on occasion). Shaky start to a new series, still they have time to gain new ground, I'll give it a couple of more episodes and see.

Hmm, I've been reading a few reviews and they've all been negative so far, you guys are the first people I've heard say it's good.
I'ma check it out whenever it starts on UK telly due to my shameless Whedon fanboyism, but I'm not bothered enough to scour the Internet for it.

I watched the first 10 minutes of episode 1 and was so bored I switched it off. It takes a lot of bordem to achieve that. To put it into perspective, I watched the entire first episode of the 2008 Knight Rider remake and that's terrible.

Yeah, shaky start. It was a bad choice for a pilot, but it wasn't that bad. It does get better. Debatably, I would encourage you to try again, but the pilot is pretty much irredeemable, despite the very last minute or two of footage. Episode 2 is marginally better, ep 3 I really don't like at all, but I think ep4 was very much worth the wait. In any case, Castle is set to air tomorow, so should Dollhouse become impossible to watch there will hopefully be a decent backup show. Post Castle Edit: Hee heee. Awesomeness.

I liked the pilot, liked episode two and hated episode three (with all it's silly metaphors it was just like a bad Buffy episode). Eliza Dushku has said to hold out till the sixth episode because that's when the show starts to come in to it's own and it's also the next episode Whedon writes. So, I shall wait til episode 6 before making my mind up properly. But so far I like it. It's a new direction for Joss and I think it's a brave step to take. I do agree Eliza is not strong enough an actress to carry her role though. She can't play the blank slate that Echo is (presumably) meant to be. She really is just Faith in another show. However, this has given me ideas for fanfics. The whole Dollhouse corganization could be an extension of some Wolfram & Hart project and it seemed from the pilots opening scene Echo in her other life was some sort of girl on the run. This could easily be Faith (not much of a stretch to assume Faith is an adopted name and Caroline is her birth name). I know when the next episode shed some light on Echo's previous life my theory will be blown out of the water but it is good fanfic material.

Just watched Episode 11. Sweeeeeeeeet. Wash is in it! Alpha's deadly plan is put into action, and Ballard finally found and infiltrated the Dollhouse. Loved this episode, although as the first half of the season finale I'd say it's not quite up to scratch. Here's hoping the second half to picks up.

The twist with Alpha being that dude came as a total surprise to me, and that in itself came as a total surprise. I should have seen it coming when he started hacking the security with flawless precision

Just thought I'd bump this to mention it's starting on the Sci-Fi channel tonight at 9. I shall watch it, while stroking my beard and going "Hmmm" (which helps me to form opinions about stuff).

The fact that Fox have said they want to spend even less money on it, however, isn't...
Since it's only airing on Sci Fi over here, I'll have to wait for the DVDs. Hope it wont be too long.

'Twasn't bad. I shall watch next week.
The scene where Amy Acker asks Eliza Dushku if she wants a massage yielded some pleasing mental images.

Apparently Sir Charlton Brooker hates it: www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2009/may/23/joss-whedon-dollhouse-brookerTbh I used to love watching Buffy and I can imagine this isn't that different. It sounds like some Quantum Leap mixed with Alias, with a slight dash of Bionic Woman/Dark Angel/any other show starring a pouting mystery woman. I may tune in, just to see what its like.

According to people who watched the whole season, it's a slow burner - but it's a good 'un.

Everything after that is absolutely incredible. But that's me. EDIT: Oak beat me to it dammits and etcetera

The finale is wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I liked it
Five million years later (and a post edit).
Anyone see Dollhouse: Epitaph One
OH. EM. GEE
It's an unaired (for now) episode for now but I hope that it actually sits in series continuity and isn't just dismissed or made a "What if" episode, because IT IS AWESOME. Seriously, the series NEEDS to lead into and follow on from this episode.
Also if you were wondering whatever happened to Molly Walker in Heroes, well watch this episode, looks as though because (provided they follow on/air from this episode in the future) it appears that Adair Tishler has possibly landed a long term role in Dollhouse.
I am now SO hyped for the second season.
The sad thing is... that this episode could be the beginning of something truley spectacular, or it could be the end of the series depending on how you look at the tone.
It would make an outstanding series finale imo.

I was meaning to get into this. I'll have to download the episodes and watch them on Windows Media Player. Plus, Eliza Dushku is hot.

So, it finished last night on Sci Fi. And it was good. I very nearly gave up on the show near the beginning, but was convinced to stick with it when November was revealed, as it were. Glad I did, looking forward to the next series.
WF: According to Wikipedia or something, series 2 will continue to have flashforwards (so Felicia Day, Molly Off Heroes and Thingy From The Second Resident Evil Film will be semi-regulars - yay!) but we're meant to bear in mind that the memories they accessed may not be fully accurate. So the future could change? I don't know, the bit that I read wasn't written very clearly and now I can't find it to double-check.

Picked this up on dvd a couple of days ago, and I just finished episode 10. I didn't actually find the first few episodes all that tedious, it set the groundwork for everything that's happened since then, with a few twists thrown in too. I'm looking forward to the last two episodes. Might watch one of them now.

Got the DVDs the day they came out (by accident, really - I thought they were out later in the month).

Epitaph One is great - but I think there are better episodes within the main series itself. Other than that, brilliant series.
